+Becca Salts __ Howdy, your reaction is understandable. Take some time to think it over and you will realise that "Stephen Hawking" is a puppet who is not responsible for the words we read or hear get spoken.

Do you really believe he pens books with the twitch of a single cheek muscle in-between responding to inane interview questions (e.g., with clowns like "John Oliver") all the while appearing as a hologram to do "talks" and "lectures" across the world?

*If you think he is responsible for those things then you have an incredible imagination*. But that's not your fault. You were brought up to have an incredible imagination - one that can easily and automatically "fill in the blanks" in the absence of seeing actual proof for claims.

I wonder whether you have heard of what a "ghost writer" is? If anyone has one - "Stephen Hawking" has one. Be honest: is anything he says/writes really that difficult? Is it really anything that any university educated person couldn't think up?

Can a guy who hasn't been able to scribble on paper in over 50 years really continue to be at the top of his field?

All of this aside - we are also to believe he is the longest lived ALS survivor - having now lived for almost as long as the normal lifespan of a human. It's all pretty remarkable isn't it?

A bit too miraculous if you let yourself take a step back and consider the entirety of the claims without your emotions getting in the way.

Yes - of course - intelligence has little to do with his ability to walk. The OP was making a joke - one that caused a chuckle from me the first time I read it and it elicited another chuckle when I scrolled up to see the proper/actual context for this thread. ))
