SCENE 19: TOM RURIDO'S DIARY (1455-1529.) Hally sits in the library, examining the diary more closely. There is a name imprinted on the cover. "Tom Mafle Rurido" After dropping an inkblot into the book - which mysteriously disappears into the page - Hally decides to try and write something in the diary. HALLY PORTER: "My Name Is... Harry... Port." Surprisingly, the book writes back. "(Hello Harry Port. My Name Is Tom Rido.)" HALLY PORTER: "You Know... Anything... About The Secret Room... About That?" "(I Know.)" [QUIRDERPH NOTE: This scene is very confusing in the theatrical cut, as an earlier scene where our heroes lern that Tom went to school during the time of the previous attacks was cut. Without that, it looks like Harry has resorted to asking anybody and ANYTHING for clues!"] HALLY PORTER: "Can You... Tell Me?" "(No... But I Can Show You There. Let Me Take You Back To 50 Years Ago, June 13Th.)" Hally is blinded by a light eminating from the diary, and soon transported into a sepia-toned version of the castle. Hally walks up to an older student, who seems to be staring at something intently. HALLY PORTER: "I Am Sorry... Can You Tell Me What Happened? Are You Tom? Hello Can You Hear Me?" Tom does not acknowledge Hally at all. We see that hehas been looking at four carriers holding up a stretcher, on which a lifeless body has been placed. Tom and Hally are both startled by a familiar-sounding voice. PROFESSOR DOUBLIC: "Tom... Come Here." TOM RURIDO: "Professor Doublic." HALLY PORTER "Doublic?" PROFESSOR DOUBLIC: "You Are Walking Outside So Late It Is Unwise." Tom walks up to Doublic, who is standing at the top of a staircase. He stays a few steps down, looking up at the teacher like an embarrased child. TOM RURIDO: "Yes Professor. I Am Just... I Have To Check The Saying Is Real Or Not." PROFESSOR DOUBLIC: "I Am Afraid It Is. Itls True." TOM RURIDO: "Then It Is True About The School Attack? I Am Homeless Now. Will They Shup Down Hogawalz?" PROFESSOR DOUBLIC: "I Understnd Tom. But... The President May Have No Other Choices." TOM RURIDO: "If All These Are Stopped? What If We Can Get The Peoson?" PROFESSOR DOUBLIC: "Are You... Going To Saying Something Tome?" TOM RURIDO: "Nothing." PROFESSOR DOUBLIC: "Ok. Then Alright. You Can Go Now." TOM RURIDO: "Good Night Professor." Tom leaves, walking through the corridors with determination, and with Hally close on the heels. Tom stops at a small door, which he opens to confront the other familiar figure hiding inside, whispering into a coffin. HAIGE: "Hurry Up." TOM RURIDO: "Good Night Hage!" Tom raises his wand threateningly at Haige, who slams the coffin shut as soon as he sees Tom. TOM RURIDO: "I Have To Report You. I Know You Didn'T Mean To Kill, But..." HAIGE: "You Can'T! You Are Not!" TOM RURIDO: "The Parents Of The Dead Girl We Will Be There Tomorrow! Hogawalz Can Do Only One Thing, Thatis To Kill The Murderer!" HAIGE: "It Didn'T Do It! Brother Won'T Kill! It Is Impossible!" TOM RURIDO: "The Evil Can 'T Be A Pet. Excuse Me." HAIGE: "No!" TOM RURIDO: "Go Away Haige!" HAIGE: "No!" Having lost all of his patience, Tom casts a spell on the coffin. TOM RURIDO: "Go To The West!" A giant spider crawls out of the now open coffin and flees the romm. Tom tries casting a spell after it, but misses. TOM RURIDO: "Ahlanianaitimi!" HAIGE: "Brother!" Haige tries rushing after the spider, but Tom stops him dead in his tracks. TOM RURIDO: "I Can'T Let You Go. You Make Yourself Lose The Chance. You Are Dismissed." Hally is suddenly yanked out of the memory, and struck by panic as a result. HALLY PORTER: "Haige! Haige!" The small door closes dramatically for... no real reason at all. END OF SCENE 19.
