the orange box review by MASTERFURRYX I remember back in fall of 2007 seeing a tv commercial for "the orange box" I had no idea what that was until I saw the tv commercial once again at the xbox website... And I saw everything as I still remembered back then wean I was a teenager growing up that I was waiting for Super Mario Galaxy to come out. The orange box was released in the US on October 10, 2007 it was a video game compilation. It includes every Half-Life 2 games, Portal and Team Fortress 2 that's five games in a bundle for 30 bucks for the best of online gaming and first-person shooters. Half-Life 2 has been chosen to be apart of the orange box, In Half-life 2 the story was really was something I expected to took place a dystopian world somewhere in the 21st century, the City 17 was being enslaved by the civilization known as the Combine that had made many peoples life sad within their hearts, The gameplay was a way of furture of Valve to impress us with their advances in computer animation, storyline and graphics. The game had remastered it's graphics from the original for the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3 release.Everything as I remember from other video games such as Evil dead, Resident Evil and Counter-Strike that Valve and Source had done a outstanding job on bringing Half-Life 2 into the furture, but it's more like a sic-fi shooter and there's other subjects about these games are great, also there's sequel and another one to Half-Life 2 apart of the orange box that also includes Episode One and Episode Two and it goes on... Portal is another game that got everyone's minds on one-player games but this game was new for it's time, this was a puzzle based game, the women's name is Chell just a women in a orange jacket which she has those metal hooks in both of her legs that which makes her walk, but that's kinda weird to ahve metal hooks in your legs just to test Chell in the lab but that sounds more like Dexter's Laboratory then a puzzle game. The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device is the gun that makes red and blue portals that which makes it more harder to understand though out the whole game, can you imagine how annoying that could be, were they making about a game related to last scene in the movie Resident Evil in the Raccoon hospital? what were they thinking? Well these two students at DigiPen were experimenting by making a game puzzle that have to do with dungeons and doors and that explains how Portal was made. The game last inside of the orange box that everyone waited since E3 2006 then finally came Team Fortress 2. Team Fortress 2 got a lot of Awards and a huge reception for being 10 top first-person shooter game of 2007 according to Gamespy.com and IGN. Back then Valve had made original Team Fortress game which had was related to the doom and quake. but it seems that Team Fortress 2 took many years for this first-person shooter game to finally came out as a sequel from the previous Team Fortress as a true classic. There's a lot going on in Team Fortress 2. there's 9 classes to choose from like the Heavy, Medic, and the Pyro, each of these classes have their unique abilities and thier individual heath gauges which makes it a bit simple and to understand. Many of the maps are different form each other, there's capture the flag, control points and there's many more to come, today there's the backback and payload race. Valve has created unique ways to play Team Fortress 2 on how this game supposed to be since 2 years when this game and the orange box came out and it's still a great game. And that concludes my review of the orange box.
