>Without warnning, you stop falling.
>A starry night sky fades in from the dark nothingness above you.
>The wild smell of grass streams into your nostrils.
>A gentle breeze tickles your skin.
>You feel alive.
>You slowly sit up.
>Beathtaking, moonlit scenery spreads out all around you.
>You're sitting ontop of a small rising in a glade, surrounded by a thick, virgin forest.
>Before you stands an odd looking, purple horse.
>It's grinning ear to ear, starring down at you.
>"Oh my gosh! You're here!"
>The horse can talk.
>Of course it can.
"Where exacly is 'here'?"
>"You can speak?"
>"Well of coures you can."
>The horse, which is female judging from it's voice, chuckles  nervously.
>"Silly me."
>She's still smiling widely at you, frankly it's beginning to creep you out slightly.
>"My name is Twilight Sparkle."
>Her giant eyes look at you expectantly.
"Uhm... Nice to make your acquaintance, Twilight. I'm Anon."
>"Anon... Oooh how exotic!" ~squee~
>Her smile is suddnely diminished somewhat and her gaze falls to the ground.
>"Ehm... Sir Anon, w-would you come sit with me?
>She motions a hoof over at a picnic blanket laid out not far away.
>You're not really sure how to react to all this, the whole situation just seems so surreal.
>But you decide to go along with it for now.
"I'd be a pleasure."
>She perks up and her giant smile returns, along with a squee.
>You follow her over to the the blanket.
>The night air is fresh and crips, albeit a tad chilly.
>As Twilight fetches something from a basket, you inspect a fancy looking telescope that's rigged up on the blanket.
>She must have noticed your apparent interest in the telescope as she speaks up
>"Oh that... I was just out here looking at the stars."
>"The Equestrian night sky can be quite astounding."
>You look up at the skies above.
>The moon, looking grander than ever before, stands proud in the sky, accompanied by a plethora of bright stars.
"You're right, it's beautiful."
>"I knew you'd like it..."
>You catch her staring at you with a dreamy look.
>She quickly turns around again and continues to rummage in her basket.
>With a nervous smile, she retreives a couple of chocolate cupcakes and a thermos of hot cocoa.
>"I... I hope you like chocolate, becuase... well... I sorta, didn't bring anything else."
"Chocolate is the greatest" you say offhandedly
>"And he love chocolate as well? ~squee~ Ehm.. I mean, that's good."

>Despite the oddity of the situation, you find yourself enjoying the picnic with Twilight.
>You take turns to look through the telescope and Twilight shows you the wonders of the night sky.
>Not to imply that you're terribly interested in astronomy, but she has an infectious excitement about her that you find adorable.
>As the night wears on, the air grows colder.
>Luckily, Twilight came prepared with a thick blanket to keep warm.
>Wrapped closely together under the cover as you were, the hours seem to fly by; stargazing, talking, laughing.
>Eventually, you notice that your compadre seems more interested in staring at you than at the stars.
>You tell yourself she must just be tired.
>Wrapping an arm around her to keep her close, you lay down on your back.
>She nudges herself even closer to you, resting her head against your chest, for increased warmth you assume.
>"Anon, I..."
>You turn your head to look into her eyes.
>She blushes fiercely.
"Yes, Twilight?"
>She smiles nervously.
>"N-nevermind."
>You ruffle her mane, eliciting a chuckle from her, before once more turning your attention to the stars above.

>Before long, you hear Twilight start to snore ever so softly.
>Your own eyelids are starting to feel heavy as well, but you want to check something before you give in to slumber.
>While you must admit that tonight has been an extraordinary experience, you still don't know what's really going on.
>Maybe you can find some answers in Twilight's basket.
>It's a long shot, but it's all you've got for now.
>Careful not to wake Twilight, you get up and creep over to her basket.
>You take a gander inside the basket.
>There's not much in there, some empty food packaging and a few books on astronomy.
>Picking up the books to check if there's anything hidden underneath, you take notice something about the final book of the lot.
>It's not about astronomy.
>Not at all.
>It's a diary.
>Twilight Sparkle's diary, to be precise.
>Reading someone else's diary isn't very honorable, but you think the ends justify the means.
>You need answers.
>You quickly flip through the book until you find the latest entry.
>"...I'm going out to one of my favorite spots tonight to gaze at the stars..."
>You skip down a few segments.
>"I just saw a shooting star, I wished for my soulmate, my knight in shining armour, to appear."
>"I know I'm just being silly, but a girl can dream, can't she?"
>You quietly put the books back into the basket, making sure it looks undisturbed.
>Crawling back under the warm cover next to Twilight, you take a moment to watch her sleeping form.
>You're seeing her in a different light now.
>Her nervous and excited behaviour makes sense now.
>She thinks you're a gallant knight, come to steal her heart.
>But that's just silly... Right?
>She does look terribly cute when she's asleep, despite being a horse-creature and all.
>You mind can't help but to wonder what the future could bring...
>With Twilight on your mind, you lay your sleepy head down and hug her close.
>In her sleep she seeks out your warmth, wrapping a hoof across your chest.
>Snuggled up with Twilight under the stars, you drift off to sleep with a dumb smile on your lips.
