"I just wanted pound cake..." She closes her eyes. "as I started to understand why people with magic made my mouth water, I begged and pleaded my parents, two merchants, to let me study it. They traveled from our home in Armoroad a great deal, so the allowed it and my studies of the arts of clothing making, as a means of passing my time without them."

I still can't... but I had found that I loved the way magic mingled with science and slowly began to follow the path of the zodiac. By my 8th birthday I had sprouted these wings." stephanie closes her wings tighter aroumd her and cain "They were much smaller then, closer in size to Fiore's wings."

"That's okay. I can teach you magic if you ever want to learn..." She smiles at him "once I got my wings, I knew I wanted to be even better at floating. I'd float in short hops and bursts of a few minutes, which grew to hours. By the time I was halfway through my 12th year, I didn't need to walk if I didn't want to, though I walked often with my parents when they were home."

"To this day I doubt if they ever knew that I was fully aware of their illness months before they told me. When they told me, mother was on her death bed and father had begun drinking to 'ease the pain' as he said. I think he only worsened it with every sip he took." despite the topic, Stephanie sounds completely unaffected

"Mother died first of the illness, father not long after from the alcohol. My 13th birthday was spent burying them. I stopped walking for the most part after that, floating instead. To fill the emptiness my parents left behind, I poured my everything into equal parts magic and fashion."

"It wasn't so terrible for me. I soon after had a fashion line and my inheritance to pay the bills and my studies to keep me busy. Though the loneliness they gave me for my 13th birthday still sticks around even now... but as I told you, I got over it. On my 15th birthday I had finished packing and boarded a skyship to Tharsis, where I continued studying magic and fashion."

"My wings have gotten much bigger in the last 10 years..." She shifts one "the best day of my life will probably be the day I joined this guild though. They filled up that empty space that I'd left devoid of people for 5 years and even filled the empty place of my parents... thank you, Dad... since I joined this guild I learned even more magic, and how to make it snow! I'm so much stronger than I was."
