********** Eclipse Phase Random Server Generator ********** These tables are intended to be interpreted creatively. X/Y could mean "X and Y" or "X or Y" at your discretion. Some details are left out entirely due to the complexity which would be involved in generating them or the extent to which they might conflict with other details. They are left to the creativity of the interpreter. A few examples are presented after the tables. Remember Rule Zero. ========== Operations ========== Mission ---------- Typical method of operation d100 00-09 Memetic ops 10-19 Covert ops 20-29 Cyber ops 30-39 Counterintelligence 40-49 Deep cover 50-59 Rapid response/erasure 60-69 Logistics 70-79 Monitoring/analysis 80-89 Contingency planning 90-99 Research/development Target ---------- Typical threats dealt with d100 (reroll if incompatible with mission) 00-09 WMDs 10-19 System politics 20-29 Other agencies 30-39 Hyperelites 40-49 Society/economics 50-59 Exhumans 60-69 Pandora gates/extrasolar affairs 70-79 Exsurgents 80-89 TITAN and/or alien artifacts 90-99 Internal affairs/administration Scope ---------- How tightly focused the server is on the mission type or target. Focusing on one typically precludes focusing on the other, to the extent that if the server is highly focused on one the other is likely a vague suggestion. There are of course exceptions to this rule, particularly in the fields of research and contingency planning. d100 00-19 Highly mission-focused, A = 40 20-39 Mission-focused, A = 30 40-59 Generalized, A = 20 60-79 Target-focused, A = 10 80-99 Highly target-focused, A = 0 Territory Size ---------- The population of the server's 'territory'. This could be a city, a region on a planet, a faction, a particular exoplanet, a grouping of habitats, places with a lot of uplifts, or plenty of other things. d100+A 00-19 10,000-60,000, S = 0 20-39 60,000-300,000, S = 5 40-59 300,000-1,500,000, S = 10 60-79 1,500,000-8,000,000, S = 15 80-99 8,000,000-40,000,000, S = 20 100-119 40,000,000-200,000,000, S = 30 120-139 Operates everywhere, S = 40 Server Size ---------- Number of proxies d100+S+A 00-44 1d5+5 45-79 1d10+5 80-119 2d10+5 120-149 3d10+10 150-179 3d10+25 Resources ---------- Roll twice. Given the focus on exsurgents, territory size, and strong structuralist tendencies, it's quite reasonable to set this server operating near the TQZ. Being poor in human resources, we might say it has no sentinels at all, no real contacts outside of Firewall, and relies entirely on other servers to bring in research material. Rich in material resources, they likely have quite a well equipped lab. The scope says the server is highly focused on the research/development mission (hence the dedicated crow server), but as a research server it makes sense for it to have a greater target specialization than is indicated. Still, exsurgency probably isn't the only thing they study. Non-exsurgent TITAN artifacts would be likely. WMD access might be represented by having the lab rigged to blow in the event of containment failure. Morally black might be represented by studying exsurgent infection in live, intentionally infected forknapped subjects. 2) 43,60,41,69,81,55,15,34,56,58,67,30 Mission: Deep cover Target: Pandora gates/extrasolar affairs Scope: Generalized Territory Size: 8,000,000-40,000,000 Server Size: 3d10+10=26 Human Resources: Average Material Resources: Poor Pragmatist-Conservative Axis: Pragmatic Maverick-Structuralist Axis: Moderate Backup: Neutral Operational Feature: Extensive blueprint library Political Feature: Close ties to another agency Mostly does alot of Deep Cover operation within Gatekeeper and associated microcorps, as well as planting sentinels in gatecrashing teams to keep eyes on things. A few of the proxies are members of CID. Keeps very few material resources but has access to a large blueprint library that can help sentinels and proxies make what they need. 3) 28,99,39,61,82,66,4,46,60,59,16,98 Mission: Cyber ops Target: Internal affairs Scope: Mission-focused Territory Size: 8,000,000-40,000,000 Server Size: 3d10+10=19 Human Resources: Well equipped Material Resources: Very poor Pragmatist-Conservative Axis: Moderate Maverick-Structuralist Axis: Moderate Backup: Neutral Operational Feature: Ties to organized crime Political Feature: Promethean puppeteer This one is interesting. To reconcile cyber ops with the organized crime ties, well equipped human resources and very poor material resources, we might say that it mostly uses shady contacts to monitor darkcasting. The internal affairs target is a weak focus, so perhaps the server is frequently used to monitor suspicious activity by other servers. And maybe the Promethean pulling the strings behind the scenes provides additional help with cyber ops from time to time.
