I mean this is something quicker and cheaper than coming up with 2000 brand new words.
There are mixed opinions regarding this. Some say Google can't detect translated content as duplicate, but I think it would be very risky to translate directly with Google Translator. Not only because the quality would be very poor but also because Google is just a "click away" from realizing it is a direct translated copy word by word of another piece of content. If you implement this method, I would definitely use human translation if I were you, and make suficient changes to give "uniqueness" to the content just in case.

Don't use google translate. Well if you manual translate it, It will take less time than editing it to make it readable.

If you have "some" proficiency in another language, then i would go for it. Google Translate is pretty good at what it does but it still runs into many issues. However, there aren't any better free solutions currently on the market.

Do realise though ,that this is a blackhat method, and if you're using it to gain a following on your blog, or something, if/when Google catches up with this practice, it will all come tumbling down.
Opt to translate manually. You can't rely on Google translate. Google translates word per word. The thoughts in your sentences could get jumbled.

I can confirm you can rank with just Google translated articles. Just be sure you have enough LSI keywords and proper densities.

You can have 1 article and get 100,000 visotirs a day, or you can have 100,000 articles and get 1 visitor a day. Do you know about keyword research? Look into that first.
You can rank anywhere, including USA serps. You can rank even using Lore Ipsum text if you add proper keywords in the right places (check Kyle Roof experiment). But I didn't say it is easy. 
Basically you need to check the competition and use same keywords, variations and LSI using specific densities. There are tools that help you in this direction: Pop and Cora.
Yep you can. But don't use G translate. You can use Deepl that is really good.

Use Wordai or some reputable spinner, try to ad your touch, but not recommended for serious websites, unless it's a pbn burner websites, you might go through fine, till someday Google or Adsense updates their policy and start to crack down translated websites

You mean rewrite russian original text and after auto translate it (rewrited text) to english? 
Is it possible to get 100 visitors per day from only 100 these translated articles? I saw traffic only on websites with 100k auto translated articles. Because they are too many they get traffic. It is like doorways websites with 1 mln articles, made by automation software.

I agree I more interesting in if it (such translated articles) can bring traffic to website.
don't just translate. Understand and rewrite . Mix with up different articles and different source.
