I'll start by explaining my league journey thus far. Feel totally free to skip this. Just read if you're curious.

I started playing because I would go over to my then-bf / now husband's place and he would play or watch pro-play. I've always loved watching people play games, so I would watch along and ask a lot of questions. As I grew to understand more, I began wanting to play. 
I started playing when Ivern was the newest champion, followed shortly after by Camille in late 2016 iirc. 
Initially, I really wanted to play adc because I had seen the Jinx music video and thought she looked really cool. But, you can imagine how that went as a new player... Not well at all. I'd often go 0/12/2 or something like that and my poor husband got really bored playing mage supports to try to carry the lane (he's a jungle main). So I decided to swap to support. 
I started one tricking Nami, as she felt like the first champ that kind of clicked for me. But husband was still finishing uni at this time and busy so I tried to find friends to play with. I live in Japan and it was easier to find people playing on NA so I made an NA account and played with 190 ping. Yeah. I know. Eventually I moved to Tokyo and somehow the ping dropped to 160 which is a bit better, at least. 

Anyway, I started playing Soraka instead, as I couldn't land bubbles reliably on Nami and someone told me I shouldn't play her if I can't land bubbles, which I took to heart. Eventually, I tried playing ranked and I actually hit platinum (before emerald was added). But, a lot of people would comment that I didn't earn my rank as an enchanter main and because I duo'd. So I just stopped playing ranked altogether and swapped to adc since it was the role I wanted to play anyway and I was sick of always being undermined for playing support. So I picked up Miss Fortune because... well, ping and I have no hands. :') 
I ended up becoming friends with a guy who was silver when I met him but he went on to be masters. Playing with him, I learned wave management and at the time, that was enough to win pretty much every lane alone. But I didn't really learn a ton else very thoroughly because he'd just shot call everything and I never had to think for myself. I learned the wave management mainly because it was directly me controlling it every game. (Not to say I learned NOTHING else but I didn't get a very deep understanding).

I stopped playing much for a few years and I don't talk with him anymore but trying to learn things with him was probably the most fun I had out of all the time I played league. 

When I came back, I found I really wanted to do that again. Also, I was fed up with only ever being able to play when other people were around because of my anxiety. So ... I decided to just play solo on the JP server. 
And it turned out.... it wasn't as bad as I thought! I hadn't played on this account since 2020 and I still played Nami and Soraka at that time. I played 11 games and landed in iron 1 (in 2020). Hadn't touched ranked on this account since. Honestly don't even remember doing that. 

When I started this season about a month ago, I placed bronze 3 or 4 I think? I played about 20 games by myself and had a 67% wr I think.

Then, my husband saw me playing on the JP server and he hadn't played in years himself. He asked if he could duo with me and I said yes ofc! He decided to play support and so far we've been doing very well together. :) But I still have a lot to learn.

For the curious: My husband is a jungle main as I said and he peaked Emerald 4 one year. He hasn't played in several years and isn't a support player. But he definitely has some foundation. That said, I'm trying to focus on my own decision making and thinking for myself so that I actually improve as a player.
