heimdall probably keeps an eye on jotunheim.... do u think hes noticed the jotnar have apparently made contact with a previously unknown realm? noticed the trade, maybe even noticed the jotun crown prince's new spouse.... and if so, do u think he tells odin about any of it, and so asgard is somewhat aware of these changes even before gwyndolin and loki decide to finally call for negotiations?

heimdall coming to report to odin and thor that the jotnar have seemingly made contact with a previously unknown realm (hmm!!) and have apparently formed an alliance (hmmm!!!!!) and theres a lot of supplies going back and forth and a lot of movement and hubbub on jotunheim (hmmmmm!!!!!!!)
even without the casket of ancient winters, with an ally to bolster them, the jotnar could be dangerous again.....
im sure heimdall delievers it as impartially as he can but even heimdall has his biases
im sure he also thinks its suspishy

theres definitely increasing combat readiness and the unknown ally is definitely making the jotnar stronger
probably even providing the jotnar with actual metal armors too
the jotnar seem to me to have relied mostly on their natural defenses with minimal added armors, but now theyre being provided with more armor
jotnar covering all weaknesses....HMMMM
(in reality its to make them less susceptible to dragon chomps)

and odin could decide to sit back and observe a while longer, and to make plans, probably thinking to go contact jotunheim when hes good and ready and prepared to then ask "okay the fuck you doing this time laufey"

but thor, being a hothead, doesnt see odin as being practical and careful...

whats better... full hothead dumbass charging into thick of it to try and challenge laufey for answers himself a la thor 1, or a more funny route of first bumping into one or more of the mysterious new allies........ such as a very big man with big hair and a startlingly friendly demeanor who doesnt take this encounter at all seriously (at least on the surface) and his far more grouchy and guarded golden knight....

even when it comes out that this band is asgardian, and even if it puts ornstein on edge, gwynfor is still :D
why be hostile?
sure hes aware the jotnar and asgardians are on poor footing but that doesnt mean he cant be friendly and helpful!
maybe theyre lost?
(inwardly hes aware they might be up to no good but hes hoping to disarm the situation with amicability)
