Yesterday I was scammed online of $X through an elaborate cryptocurrency/NFT project/scheme. In total the scammers got away with $2.2 million from thousands of purchasers. I think it's extremely important an effort is made to find these guys to make sure they don't do it again. The people who got scammed banded together and compiled a list of all the information we could possibly find that might be of importance for an investigation.

The project was called BallerApeClub and was a NFT project. They promised artwork and utility/giveaways for the people purchasing the artwork. On the launch date they opened their site for the public to purchase. The website was coded in a way that returned an error saying the payment did not go through, when it in-fact did. People kept trying to get the transaction to go through before we noticed it was draining our accounts completely. After this the people behind the project deleted their Twitter account: https://twitter.com/BallerApeClub and their huge Discord server with 30,000+ members: http://discord.gg/ballerapeclub - I hope you are able to reach out to Twitter and Discord to find any information they might have.

In addition we located the company where the domain name was registered, the url of the domain was: https://ballerapeclub.com/ - The domain was hosted on Namecheap (Namecheap Inc.). Through massive Twitter noise and filling out their abuse form we were able to make them shut down the website. They have since let us know that a court order will ensure their assistance in an investigation.

After that the community worked to find the online influencers who were paid to promote their project. The following Twitter accounts were used to promote the project:

The biggest to promote the project was the artist/rapper Lil Xan, who has since deleted the post.

One of them has replied to the situation saying he got paid in BUSD to promote the NFT. BUSD is the stable-coin currency for the cryptocurrency exchange called Binance, so we're hopeful they might have purchased it through Binance at some point revealing their identities.
