Adytus added Cormac to the group.Today at 8:41 PM Adytus - Today at 8:41 PM Hey! Are you still on, Cormac? Griffin - Today at 8:43 PM Hail. Adytus - Today at 8:43 PM Hail. Cormac - Today at 8:45 PM I've been afk, sorry. Adytus - Today at 8:46 PM No worries! So Griffin and I have been talking, as your friends, we really think you should not step back from the government and let Kemi have the upper hand, or let her get to you at all. You have earned to be pharaoh, and you shouldn't let someone like Kemi ruin or hinder your experience on this game. I think you are the best player I have seen on this game!(edited) Cormac - Today at 8:49 PM I appreciate that, but my experience in this game has already been ruined and hindered by having someone on my cabinet who is leaking to Kemi and not knowing who that is. I can't continue directing the Council of Viziers while knowing full well that one - or more - of my Viziers is Kemi's snitch, and having no idea if what I say is being reported back to Kemi. Or who else they may be leaking to, for that matter. Adytus - Today at 8:53 PM I can dismiss the whole cabinet if I have to. But you shouldn't do this to yourself. If anything, I don't believe Kemi will feel like she has won if you stay with it. Griffin - Today at 8:54 PM If you remain in the background like this, she will have won and we will be crippled for six months. We need a Pharaoh desperately. We need you back. Cormac - Today at 8:54 PM I refuse to believe we'll be "crippled" if I take a less active role. You just advised me not long ago to take a less active role anyway. Griffin - Today at 8:54 PM Not like this. Not because of her. She is psychotic and manipulative. Cormac - Today at 8:55 PM Dismissing the entire Council of Viziers isn't an option. We have no one to replace most of these people, and no guarantee their replacements won't also end up leaking to her.(edited) Griffin - Today at 8:56 PM If the cut is as deep as you suspect it is, then she knows she has control if she can do shit like this. Adytus - Today at 8:57 PM And she and her goons shouldn't get to you. players that stalk and harass people on this game are trash not worthy to have this kind of control. Cormac - Today at 8:57 PM She has control regardless. She is literally sitting in on our cabinet meetings. Griffin - Today at 8:58 PM The cabinet does not rule Osiris. Adytus - Today at 8:58 PM You do. Griffin - Today at 8:58 PM But if you stay like this, then no one rules. Cormac - Today at 8:59 PM I can't govern Osiris by myself, and I can't trust my Viziers. Griffin - Today at 8:59 PM And we can't govern without you. No matter what the announcement said. Griffin - Today at 9:00 PM We've known each other for years and even when he opposed each other we were always honest. I'm being honest now. And none of this is easy to say. I don't like having to tell a friend this. Cormac - Today at 9:01 PM If I can't govern Osiris by myself and can't trust my Viziers, and if the rest of the government can't govern Osiris with my role reduced, then it looks like we're at an impasse and Osiris can't be governed. Griffin - Today at 9:02 PM Yes it can. Cormac - Today at 9:02 PM Because I'm not going to magically be able to will myself to trust my Viziers, that isn't how trust works. Griffin - Today at 9:02 PM The Pharaoh rules Osiris. The Pharaoh has the power. And only the Pharaoh decides. And nothing we change or legislate or how much you may delegate to others will change that. Adytus - Today at 9:03 PM And honestly, Kemi should be so lucky that she gets to read stuff coming out of a great player like you that has encouraged me to take part in this game to begin with. One way to look at it I guess. Griffin - Today at 9:05 PM I symphatize with you Cormac. I know this fucking sucks. But Osiris can't survive for six months without a Pharaoh. The Council can't fix this. They're irrelevant. It's up to we. We need a Pharaoh . Only you can fix this. Cormac - Today at 9:05 PM Then I'll abdicate and we'll have a Pharaoh. That was the other option, and what I was trying to avoid by doing this instead. Griffin - Today at 9:06 PM I don't want you to abdicate. I want you to be Pharaoh, but we both know what the options are. Adytus - Today at 9:06 PM Please don't resign! Cormac - Today at 9:08 PM The options are to abdicate, to reduce my role, or to sit day in and day out talking to and directing a Vizier, or more than one Vizier, who is Kemi's snitch and who is actively working to destabilize Osiris. If it were Gradea, it would be less of an issue, because he handles culture and I can just go around him for important discussions. But I don't think it's Gradea anymore, or at least I don't know that it's Gradea. Additionally, eventually, maybe next election, maybe the one after that, someone else is going to be elected Chief Vizier. There is a very good chance it will be the snitch. Griffin - Today at 9:10 PM Maybe so, maybe not. But none of that matters if we have a Pharaoh. Cormac - Today at 9:11 PM Yes, it does. Kemi knowing everything we discuss matters. Griffin - Today at 9:18 PM Cormac. Adytus - Today at 9:19 PM Man. Griffin - Today at 9:19 PM I don't relish what I'm about to say and thinking about this hurts. But I owe it to you, to Osiris, to say it. Your distrust in the cabinet is justified. But this - whatever it is - cannot continue. It is hurting Osiris. Adytus - Today at 9:21 PM "The options are to abdicate, to reduce my role, or to sit day in and day out talking to and directing a Vizier, or more than one Vizier, who is Kemi's snitch and who is actively working to destabilize Osiris." If reducing your role hurts Osiris, and can't work with the viziers, then what's left is the best for Osiris. I really don't want you to resign. Cormac - Today at 9:23 PM This has literally been in effect for less than two hours. The idea that it's somehow hurting Osiris when we've yet to see its impact is, frankly, absurd. Regions are governed every day without the active involvement of their Founder or Delegate. You just told me a few days ago that I should reduce my role. Griffin - Today at 9:23 PM And thinking sitting on the sidelines for six months is going to solve anything is lunacy. I said delagate, not completely hand away everything. There is a difference between the assigning the day to day and turning away and just sitting in the seat until a year's passed by. You don't trust the viziers, fine. But Kemi knows why you're doing it. The world knows why you're doing it. They can put two and two toegther. I don't want you to resign, I want you to be Pharaoh, but this is not it. Cormac - Today at 9:26 PM I'm not just sitting in the seat, I still have a significant amount that I will be doing, as I outlined in my announcement, including "providing guidance on executive policy when requested." Griffin - Today at 9:29 PM You won't talk to the viziers. How can you guide when we don't have any viziers or you won't talk to them? I don't expect you to trust them or like them. They're traitors and leakers. But you're hiding. That's the cold hard truth. That announcement can say whatever it wants but that's not what it means. I'm sorry you're going through this and I'm sorry I had to say all this. Cormac - Today at 9:30 PM I will talk to Adytus. Adytus is Chief Vizier. He will in turn manage the rest of the Viziers. That's how his office is supposed to work, after all. And he has already been doing fine at that. Adytus - Today at 9:33 PM I can continue to handle my responsibilities the best I can, and I hope I make you guys proud! But what if I lose my election, or my term comes to an end and the leak becomes the Chief Vizier? Or someone else? Griffin - Today at 9:33 PM There is no gurantee he will win. We don't rig elections, we're not like other regions. And even if he is CV, the traitors remain. Or if the cabinet is filled by them one by one. Cormac - Today at 9:35 PM All of that can happen regardless. I don't know who the traitors are, so I'm not going to be able to prevent one being elected Chief Vizier, or stacking the Council of Viziers with them, no matter how actively involved I am. Griffin - Today at 9:36 PM It is better to have an active Pharaoh then an inactive one against them. Cormac - Today at 9:36 PM And even if my role is reduced, I still retain the power to appoint the Chief Vizier to office, or not, and to approve his appointments for Vizier, or not. So I am no less able to prevent these scenarios with a less active role than I am if I'm more active. Griffin - Today at 9:37 PM And what does that do for Osiris? When the next incident, or the next one, or the next one? Cormac - Today at 9:37 PM What does it do for Osiris if I'm more active during the next incident, or the next one, or the next one? Griffin - Today at 9:38 PM We have a fighting chance if you're active. Cormac - Today at 9:38 PM I was plenty active while Kemi was sucking information from the Council of Viziers. And completely powerless to stop her. Griffin - Today at 9:38 PM Then she'll be suckling information from the Council when you're not active. Cormac - Today at 9:38 PM Right. So what's the difference? Griffin - Today at 9:39 PM I'm not trying to get you to abdicate, I'm trying to get you to take your rightful place. But if you stay inactive then there is a difference. The difference is I don't care about Kemi. She doesn't enter into my thoughts one wit. She does not obscure my sight. I don't worry whether she hears or not because she is not in control. You can force, cajole, browbeat traitors. But what you can't do is let them have it. Cormac - Today at 9:40 PM Kemi probably already has enough information from the Council of Viziers to bring down this entire government. Griffin - Today at 9:41 PM You're the government goddamn it. The only way to bring it down is if you do this. If you step up then they can't bring down shit. Cormac - Today at 9:41 PM I am not the government. I'm the head of government. And regardless, she has enough information to bring me down, certainly, so if I'm the government then she has enough information to bring down the government. Adytus - Today at 9:42 PM I will fight Kemi to the verbal death to prevent that from happening too. Griffin - Today at 9:42 PM Then what do you want me to tell you? You're so pessmistic. You see no way out. You can win this. Adytus - Today at 9:43 PM Yeah, I have faith we can crush this. Cormac - Today at 9:44 PM We've talked candidly in the Council of Viziers chat about many topics for months. Kemi potentially has enough information to turn entire regions against us, to turn people in Osiris against us. If she doesn't have the information now, her leak has 24/7 access to it and can give it to her at any time. Griffin - Today at 9:45 PM Then if you think we're fucked either way then abdicate and let someone else deal with this because I don't know what else to tell you. The world won't turn against Osiris because of her. Cormac - Today at 9:45 PM Nah, but they might based on things we've said in that chat. Griffin - Today at 9:45 PM There has been much worse. Cormac - Today at 9:45 PM Regardless, I'm not abdicating. There seems to be a little too much insistence that I abdicate. Griffin - Today at 9:46 PM Then step up. You are the Pharaoh. It is your rightful place. Don't let them beat you down. That's the only way she wins. Cormac - Today at 9:46 PM We will be doing what I announced we'll be doing. Anyone who can't accept that is free to offer their resignation and explain to the region how I am the only one in it who matters. Adytus - Today at 9:47 PM Hail. o/ Griffin - Today at 9:48 PM Hail. Cormac - Today at 9:48 PM Alternatively find me the fucking leak. Griffin - Today at 9:48 PM I will burn down everything to find the leak. If it gets you back. Adytus - Today at 9:49 PM Yeah, for sure! Griffin - Today at 9:53 PM I don't know what Cormac expects me to do. Cormac - Today at 9:53 PM Find the right chat, for starters. :stuck_out_tongue: Griffin - Today at 9:53 PM No, you best you heard that, Cormac - Today at 9:53 PM I'm sorry I've put you in this position. Griffin - Today at 9:53 PM Because I don't know what to do. Cormac - Today at 9:54 PM I don't know what to do either. So I don't expect you to do anything. I don't know what you, I, or anyone else should do. Adytus - Today at 9:56 PM I'm going to make sure we are ready for the festival. Haha. Cormac - Today at 9:57 PM I only know that I cannot govern Osiris with this going on: "It's probably Gradea. He's friends with Kemi." - Someone "It might be Scardino. He leaked something you told him not long ago, didn't he?" - Someone else "What do we really know about Adytus? He's brand new out of nowheree." - Someone else "Maybe it's NK and Biyah because they want you to abdicate now." - Someone else "Maybe it's Syberis. He dropped TBH like a hot potato when you took over Osiris. Might be a spy." - Someone else All paraphrases of conversations that have happened in the past 24 hours. Griffin - Today at 9:57 PM Sounds about right. Cormac - Today at 9:59 PM Ironically the only person no one thinks it is, is the person Kemi said it is, and the person I accused. So yay. Adytus - Today at 9:59 PM Wow. This game is something else. Adytus - Today at 10:00 PM Haha. Cormac - Today at 10:00 PM For what it's worth, I don't think it's either of you or I wouldn't be this candid about anything. But that doesn't mean I'm not hearing constantly how it is probably one of you, just like I'm hearing constantly how it is probably [insert Vizier here] from people who don't like or don't trust the other Viziers. Griffin - Today at 10:02 PM I'm used to being called a boogeyman. Cormac - Today at 10:03 PM Oh right, I forgot Knot, but at least two people have insisted to me it's probably him, as well. Adytus - Today at 10:03 PM What a mess. Cormac - Today at 10:05 PM The problem is I either trust, or at least at one point trusted, every single person on the Council of Viziers, or I would have asked for alternatives when various Chief Viziers first sought to appoint them. So I have a hard time believing it's anyone, which also makes it hard for me not to think it may be almost any one of them, since I clearly have seriously misjudged one of them. Adytus - Today at 10:08 PM If I win the next election I'm going to try and appoint as many new viziers as I can, and at least try to reset the tensions in some form. Griffin - Today at 10:09 PM I WIll find you the leak. I will do all in my power.
