BACKGROUND : YONGNAM was born in osaka to a korean lawyer, and a japanese neurosurgeon. when he was in middle school, his parents divorced. he ended up going with his father back to seoul, where he continued his education. it was in korea where he discovered his passion for music, when he had to perform on stage for a school event. he had been scouted by a yg representative who happened to attend the event. while his father was hesitant, his mother was immediately supportive of the idea when she heard the news. he ended up training at yg for a few years before leaving the company due to the multiple scandals that were associated with the company’s name. he ended up auditioning for VBE after coming across a flyer.
