- Crafting Rings with life gained on hit
- Starting rings:
- Life + resistances + a bit of mana regen if you can fit it, just get some good 20-30c rings from trade market, don't bother min maxing these, you should be looking to replace them fast
- Intermediate rings:
- Step 1:
- At least ilvl 75-78 elder or hunter rings(two stone/ruby/topaz/sapphire for now or vermillion if you already have good res gear), whatever base is cheaper
- elder rings have slightly better chances of getting life gained on hit than hunter rings,
- so they'll be cheaper to roll on average but just get whichever base is cheaper, it doesn't really take much to roll a good ring
- in the past elder bases were significantly cheaper than hunter(60c elder vs 150c hunter for an ilvl 84+ vermillion ring for example), but that all depends on the skill meta and this could change
- if you don't want to invest too much into this build or are generally a fairly casual player it's wise to not go for rings higher than ilvl 78 so you could use any tier of harvest craft reforge keeping prefixes to try to get at least decent prefixes instead of just running with what fossils give you, low tier
- harvest crafts are usually around 2 times cheaper than high tier ones
- Step 2
- Pristine fossils and/or harvest reforge with life modifiers more common, they're effectively the same thing
- Expected amount of tries to hit at least t3 life(50-59) + t2 life gained on hit is around 10 tries
- Expected amount of tries to hit at least t3 life + t1 life gained on hit is around 20 tries
- total cost of getting a usable ring is around 60-80 chaos(Pristine fossils are around 3-4c early on) or much less if you can get harvests yourself, since these are ilvl 75 items, any tier of harvest will do
- you could spam white maps and get it
- I'd honestly settle for just about any decent rings at first, build the rest of the gear around them, and then later when influenced bases become cheaper
- get another pair of rings and use all my harvest reforges on them, you can always resell your original pair of rings so it's not a waste, many builds utilize life gained on hit rings
- Great rings for when bases are cheaper and fossils are cheaper:
- Step 1
- ilvl 84 hunter or elder vermillion rings whichever is cheaper, sometimes it can be cheaper to use hunter orb on an ilvl 84 vermillion ring because you know
- people be silly with their prices, elder rings should usually be much cheaper, but doesn't have to be the case, as said before depends on build meta of the league
- Step 2
- Pristine fossils/harvest reforge with life more common again, couple of more tries on average to hit the desired mods since there are more potential mods to roll now due to higher item level,
- you should really aim for tier 1 life gained on hit here but if you roll amazing suffixes on a t2 it's not that bad
- i don't suggest using elemental based fossils to increase the chance of resists because they also increase the chance of cold/fire/lightning damage to attacks effectively reducing the chance to roll the life mods
- you can try for reforge keeping prefixes later to get the desired suffixes, just keep any good rings for now and adjust your gear around them for now
- Amulet:
- Starting amulet:
- until you get the ilvl 84 blue pearl hunter amulet to roll just use a couple of Shrieking Essences of Misery on any Blue pearl amulet to get something usable
- don't annoint this with hardened scars yet, golden oil is 1ex early league, just use any of the good cheap annoints,
- there's plenty on the tree like Skill effect duration notables, Fleetfoot, Harrier etc. that cost around 10c or less
- Intermediate amulet:
- Step 1
- Get Hunter influenced ilvl 84 Agate amulet or hunter exalted orb on any ilvl 84 Agate amulet, whichever is cheaper
- Step 2
- Annoint:
- Exceptional Performance (25% skill effect duration), very cheap in cost, priciest oil is black oil which is like 3 chaos oil, this boosts the duration of your Mirage archers and will get you in the territory of having really good duration and not having to worry that much about getting more
- Step 3
- Use Aberrant fossils or better Harvest Reforge with chaos modifiers being more common, you're looking for Life, Resists, Strength and one of the following Influenced Modifiers:
- 1)+1 to level of all chaos skills
- 2)+ to chaos damage over time multiplier
- level of chaos skills is slightly higher dps, but for starters getting either one of these is a good upgrade, keep it and keep farming currency to turn this into an amazign amulet because there's a harvest trick to gurantee both of these mods eventually but is a bit more expensive
- Amazing amulet:
- Step 1
- Use Aberrant fossils or harvest reforge with chaos modifiers more common on your amulet until you get an amulet with tier 1 + to chaos damage over multiplier and 2 other great suffixes like high tier resistances, strength, or even Malevolence has reduced mana reservation
- Step 3
- Make sure that your item has full 3 suffixes for next step to work properly, you cannot craft another suffix to fill them, it needs to have 3 naturally rolled suffixes
- If your item doesn't have an open prefix:
- use Harvest craft of Reforge keeping suffixes until you hit an open prefix
- If it has an open prefix skip to next step
- Step 4
- Craft Suffixes cannot be changed from crafting bench(2ex mod cost + crafting fee usually 20-30c) - this mod is a prefix so that's why you needed one free
- Step 5
- use Harvest craft Reforge with chaos modifiers being more common,
- this will give you roughly 2/3 chance to roll +1 to all chaos skill gems since as of patch 3.14 there are now 2 prefix modifiers with chaos tag
- you might not get it on the first try so make sure that when you attempt this you know you want to spend currency and you have enough currency for at least 2 attempts
- Belt:
- Starting belt:
- Any belt with life + resistances
- Intermediate belt:
- Buy any stygian vise that has high life and resists with flask effect duration or craft flask effect duration,
- this mod is very good because it enables you to run much more powerful Alchemists flask, those usually have short duration so raising their duration is great
- i suggest stygian vise because Abyss jewel modifiers this build can utilize are amazing, attack speed, damage over time, onslaught on kill, chance to dodge etc.
- Amazing belt:
- Step1
- Get a belt of at minimum item level 84 with at least tier 2 life as its only prefix
- and really good suffixes you won't be looking to replace (1 should be increased flask duration thats not crafted)
- item like this usually costs in the ballpark of 2-3 ex since they aren't influenced, non influenced belts, even good ones drop in price really really fast
- since almost every top tier build out there either tries to get a headhunter, some other good unique belt or a really good influenced belt, non influenced belts are reserved for people who can't really afford better so they become cheap fast because nobody likes to spend much on them
- Step 2
- Slam it with a hunter exalted orb
- The following is the pool of possible hunter mods
- %maximum life(tier 1 of this mod requires ilvl 84 belt so that's why you need it)
- %chaos damage
- up to 10% chance for flasks not to consume charges
- Gain flask charge on critical strike
- Increased chaos damage and % to maximum life are the most common mods you will roll so gambling with hunter orb gives you very good odds here
- Step 3
- For your remaining prefix craft leo %damage mod(craft lower tier and upgrade it much later if you need exalts for something else)
- Luxury belt:
- I won't offer luxury option for the belt slot simply because i think this should be a piece where you get flask duration and resistances, it opens up the potential to get much better mods on your other items that are in my opinion more valuable than having multiple belt influenced mods, just getting %life or chaos damage with crafted 20% damage and good suffixes is basically your endgame goal here
- Total cost for an amazing set of jewelery is
- 2 hunter exalted orbs, less if base hunter amulets are cheaper to buy - around 3 ex total
- around 1 ex for 2 elder vermillion rings
- 2 tries with 2 ex for suffixes cannot be changed on amulet if you're unlucky so 4 ex total
- around 2 exalts worth of fossils to get really good rings and amulet, around 1ex for rings and around 1 ex for amulet
- around 3 exalts for a good base stygian vise
- much less if you just settle for ok but i'm calculating for good items here
- total of ~13-14ex for a set of 4 amazing items that is going to allow you to wreck the entirety of endgame
- Total cost of starting item set is probably less than 1 ex in total and will be good to do majority of content, i simply offer good options if you like the build and want to invest some currency to do harder stuff ingame
- even the endgame versions of items are all still fairly achievable items throughout the course of the league and it's totally unnecessary to rush getting any of these,
- simply craft them piece by piece and replace the existing ones when your resists/stats on other items allow for it
