- This happens quite often. DR/PR/Whatever doesn't guarantee higher ranks. On page SEO is very important too. Content amount. Etc etc.
- For example, if the niche is low competition and the dude ranking #1 has a 7,000 word article about the subject and #3 has 200 words, then.. well, yeah.

- You need to look at the bigger picture. Maybe the first site has better/longer/more informative content than the others. These metrics mean nothing on their own.

- #7: 700 word article, 1 image, 1 video.

- Neither is more important than the other, they are both equally important imo.
- A site with good content, good on page seo and with little/no backlinks can outrank a site with bad on page seo with tons of backlinks. Of course it depends on the quality of the backlinks as well.

- Maybe the post at #1 doesn't have any backlinks, but the site that holds the post does - position #2 (that you say is the same site) has backlinks according to the image you posted. So, on page SEO might be working here - other pages (perhaps the home page) are passing juice to the article ranking #1.

- It could. It could also have hidden PBN links pointing to that post. I was just pointing out to OP one possible reason why he doesn't see any backlinks to the #1 post yet it's ranking.
