- DCSS 0.23 "Elliptic" Streak Game #32: MiWr^Gozag (Part 1) [DUNGEON CRAWL STONE SOUP]
- MR

- @25:00 MR explains streak griefing. There's no single-sign-on. Any time a new official server opens, griefer can register an account in your name and die on it. Database won't know the difference, declare your streak over.
- Simple solution: GPG-signed authentication as starting comment in each game.
- In general, could use starting declarations to play in various game modes.
- Perhaps combined with separate accounts per game mode type. To strengthen the pre-declaration, and prove no mining occurred.
- Anyway, I'm sure the potential for streak-griefing has a chilling effect on streak competition. I'm certainly not interested in placing myself at the mercy of a hostile SJW system.
- @25:46 Lentil> I wonder why zxc didn't keep going
- MR> isn't sure, but guesses burnout. could hear the depression in his voice in the early game, and frankly I don't blame him
- rhythmkitty> because every single run took him 40 hours
- MR> he was relentlessly disciplined, and that's great, but it made it take forever to finish games
- In other words, streak competition is limited by intrinsic motivation as the primary factor, not skill. QED.
- How MR solves the motivation problem:
- MR> I really enjoy talking to people while I'm streaming
- @37:00 MR says hybrids are usually bad and you don't need a ranged option other than evocations. Foolish.
- @41:17 MR> "If you're using a god that's not gozag, and you're not carnivorous, you're probably making a mistake, basically... if you happen to find him first or early.
- @47:51 "RIght now it's just you're a big dummy if you choose [2h] over shields."
