  1.
  2. >You were sitting at a booth at a Diner, looking out through the window.
  3. >With a smile on your face, you've come to find the dark to be comforting.
  4. >Even though it's supposed to be noon, the sky is pitch black, and only illuminated by the shining eyes of elder gods.
  5. >Today, you're meeting up with Death for a weekly chat since she's something of a friend.
  6. >To be fair, she's everyone's friend, much like Cindy.
  7. >The bell above the door makes it's slow, distorted ring, and there was Death, sporting black tank top, and black jeans.
  8. >Once she saw you, she waved and joined you at your booth.
  9. >A waitress floated by to deliver two orders of Midnight shade tea.
  10. >You thank her and meet eyes with Death.
  11. >"Haha what's up, man?"
  12. "Christ, I know you're Death, but how about adding some color to your wardrobe?"
  13. >She tilts her head, "why? I like black, it's slimming."
  14. "You're slim enough."
  15. >She laughs off your comment, the leans in.
  16. >"So whatcha been up to? How are you enjoying the Obsidian womb?"
  17. "I can't really complain, the apartment is nice. But–"
  18. >"You need sex."
  19. >You open your mouth but were lost for words from Death's bluntness.
  20. "I umm, yeah. I mean, Cindy already blew me when she dropped me off."
  21. >"Cindy will go down on anyone like an elevator on the top floor."
  22. "Something ain't right about her though."
  23. >Death cuts her eyes to the side for a moment while she finds her words.
  24. >"Cindy is… Cindy."
  25. "I'm kinda surprised how casual you're being about this."
  26. >"We void beings don't adopt the masquerade of being coy or cute about it. If you need it, you need it. Don't apologize for it."
  27. "If that's the case, Death why don't you and I-"
  28. >"Sure, another time though. But what you need is a Hell Doll."
  29. "A what?"
  30. >"Hell Dolls? They're perfect for companionship."
  31. "How so?"
  32. >"Think of them as… sentient sex toys."
  33. "So, a succubus?"
  34. >You picked up on Death's disdain as she rolls her eyes.
  35. >"Yeah, only they're not trying to take your life force. They'll give you exactly what you need, they have a sixth sense about that."
  36. "If they're so great, why are they called Hell Dolls?"
  37. >"Honestly? The name kinda stuck ever since one killed some holier-than-thou scumbag that was trying to purify The Void. The papers went crazy with that story."
  38. "Where can I get one of these beauties?"
  39. >"Oh, you can either get one off the street or buy one. Some owners let them go due to boredom."
  40. "Whoa, sounds like some kind of slavery shit going on."
  41. >"Well, with Hell Dolls, all they want to do is be a companion. They find the easier to just put themselves on the market for someone to buy."
  42. "You mean they can't just go up to dudes and say, 'hi, would you like some company tonight?'"
  43. >"They can't talk."
  44. >You raise an eyebrow.
  45. "As in, they don't have a mouth to speak?"
  46. >"Yeah, and they look creepy, so unless you were in the know about them you wouldn't approach them on the street. And, most likely they're probably doing an errand for their loved one."
  47. "Hmmm…."
  48.
  49.
  50.
  51. >It's ridiculous how dirt cheap Hell Dolls are, you would look into it more, but after your lunch with Death, you did some research when you got home for the rest of the day.
  52. >There was nothing but praise for these entities
  53. >You're newly bought Hell Doll sits on your couch, hands in lap and blinking occasionally.
  54. "Nod if you understand me."
  55. >She responds with a nod so subtle it wouldn't disturb a fly.
  56. >It was kind cute seeing her in a black color shirt that had poofy shoulders, but you like her jeans, they compliment her form.
  57. >You note the obscure tattoos down her arm.
  58. >The horns on her head curved some.
  59. >Her blank eyes were following you wherever you went.
  60. "So, I know you're not able to talk but, here."
  61. >You hand her a mini dry erase board with a black marker that has a string attached to the board.
  62. >The Hell Doll takes it, not even bothering to look down.
  63. "What's your name?"
  64. >She shifts her eyes to the dry erase board in her lap and starts jotting down her answer.
  65. >You finally pop a squat on the coffee table across from her.
  66. >She hands back the dry erase board and upon looking at what she wrote, you had to scratch your head in confusion.
  67. >At first glance, it looks like a bunch of jumbled letters overlapped over each other.
  68. >But you realize it's probably some sort of sigil, still you can't even begin to infer a name.
  69. "Uh, how about I just call you Hellen?"
  70. >She shrugs, then extends her arms to you, you can tell she was trying to muster a smile.
  71. >You lean in and was embraced with a tight hug.
  72. >Hellen's pretty strong.
  73.
  74.
  75. >You can feel your body feeling the taxings for the day.
  76. >After yawning into your hand, you get up and Hellen followed you to your bedroom.
  77. >You didn't need to snuggle under the covers, due to Hellen's warmth.
  78. >With a sigh, you retire for the night, slipping into a dream.
  79.
  80.
  81. >You saw yourself in an electric chair, a hooded figure had flipped the switch.
  82. >The body you watched spasmed mercilessly, foaming at the mouth while one side of your cheek corroded.
  83. >You turn away from the scene only to look out to a burning church.
  84. >An ambulance pulls up, and out steps a stereotypical display of the devil.
  85. >You look up, only to realize you're looking down at the witness of the end times.
  86. >Children crawling through charred up wood piles as their eyes bleed, shouting up to you.
  87. >Fires sprouted all over, as a mushroom cloud expands in the distance.
  88. >Their skin was visibly boiling.
  89. >"Save us please!"
  90. >Before you can open your mouth, your arms were tied down to the arms of a wooden chair.
  91. >A sponge squeezes out water above your head, as some sort of helmet was in place.
  92. >Metal bars were raised, separating you from a scene of the end times.
  93. >You see a crimson hand touch your left forearm.
  94. >"They cannot be saved, do not make the mistake of pitying them."
  95. "Why?"
  96. >Laughter was his response.
  97. >A switch flips.
  98. >You feel a jolt course through your body starting at your head.
  99. >Upon the first spasm, you sit up in your bed.
  100. >Sitting up in your bed, you find Hellen resting a hand on your heart to calm you down.
  101. >Another tight hug from Hellen eased your breathing.
  102. >You lay back down, staring up at the ceiling wondering why such an intense nightmare even occurred.
  103. >Hellen however, provided you with the right amount of distraction with her company, putting your mind at peace.
  104. >You'll have to call Death and tell her about that dream.
  105. "Could you grab my phone?"
  106.
  107.
  108. >"Shit, should've warned you about that," Death says through the other end of the phone.
  109. "What are you talking about?"
  110. >"Hell Dolls are a little manipulative in the sense they want to give you all the love you require."
  111. "I'm not sure I follow that line of logic."
  112. >"It's to put more emphasis on feeling comforted."
  113. >You lean out of out of your kitchen for a moment, checking to see if Hellen is around.
  114. >Your best guess is she's just on the couch
  115. "So the best way for her to soothe me is to spook me?"
  116. >"Pretty much."
  117. "Anything else?" You say through your gritting teeth.
  118. >"Don't plan on going anywhere after fucking a Hell Doll, they get clingy. Anyway, I gotta go, I've got another human to bring to The Void."
  119. >The line goes dead.
  120. >Blowing air through your nostrils can only feel a pang of frustration.
  121. >So this is your life now.
  122. >In the Void, living out of a strange apartment with weird light bending physics.
  123. >And a sentient doll that'll give you hellish nightmares and provide companionship.
  124. >You notice Hellen pokes her head up as you let out a sigh.
  125. "What?"
  126. >You watch her walk to the kitchen to you, grabs your hand.
  127. >Then places her other hand on her chest.
  128. "You felt that?"
  129. >She tugs your hand, leading you to the bedroom.
  130. >You stand dumbfounded as you stand at the foot of your bed.
  131. >She takes a moment to lock the door, you turn around ready to give her some ounce of protest.
  132. "Look, Hellen, we need to ta-"
  133. >She was already unbuckling your belt, you can tell she was somewhat giggling from her shoulders bouncing.
  134. >The waist of your pants hit your ankles, and Hellen gave you a shove.
  135. >Hellen tosses her black collared shirt by the nightstand and strips all the way down to her jet black stockings.
  136. >You take a moment to look at her tattoos.
  137. >Countless white vines running all over her skin, but you noticed one of her tattoos is a pumping heart.
  138. >The more you stare at her, the more the white heart gains a little color.
  139. >Starting with a faint pink to a rose red, her tattoo still moving like it was an actual heart.
  140. >If Hellen could smirk, she would.
