- As he comes back to the garden after visiting Rowan in the northern forests of Valmasia-- trying to find storms and failing such, the Sarradian looks around only to find a friend-- perhaps even a student with how much he was trying to teach him, Caerus... His arms cross briefly as he stares at him; the Sarradian was finally ready to try and teach the magics he knew.
- "Careus, are ready to try and learn the storm magic? Had things to do. Queen even visited here and taught some of the magic." He says, even if it wasn't true... Seeing how it worked was enough!
- (Zephyr)
- The child was fiddling around with a staff.
- On a visit to the city he'd acquired a staff which he'd empower his magics with, and news of an event soon to happen. Though it was only a rumor he heard that'd been spreading amongst some civilians he trusted it. He wanted to believe it. There was a rumor about a certain someone soon to adventure out.
- That person was named Vale Mabon. They'd had a boat built by skeletons with the supposed intention to adventure off to the Peace Barrier. He is going to visit the border of this continent and it's sea to have an observation of the storms which brood powerfully in the mysterious border.
- And that catched his attention. He wanted to learn about storms, and then he wanted to somehow make use of his magics to create one himself. If he was able to create a storm it'd prove his mastery over his magics and the raw power dormant in his body. But first? He needed to find a weapon for himself. That's this staff he's messing around with.
- He'd never used a weapon in his life so he was messing with the staff. Attaching a strap on it from one end and the other, polishing it, and whatnot. And then approached Zephyr which startled him as he sat there. His body shook for a second and then his head turned -- his eyes meet Zephyr and his ears listen.
- "Oh! I remember you told me you would...and there's something I want to tell you about Storm Magic, too. Sure though." He says, then coming to a stand.
- (Caerus)
- Zephyr didn't really know much about the adventure that was being planned by one Vale Mabon-- being unaware meant he had no idea it was going down, but perhaps Caerus could help him out with that once they got down to the lesson that he was planning to help Caerus with. There were a few tips and tricks from the Queen herself, after all.
- "... Oh, what is? Did find something cool can help learn with..? Did speak with queen? Or is just learning new thing? Did already use the storm magic? Must have hurt, yes?" he questions, a barrage of them -- all of them likely wrong.. But, well, he tried. He breathes in briefly as he thinks.
- "... Okay, so are going to do the storm magic now." He says. "Or am going to try and teach, because is having hard time trying to make storm magic." He explains.
- "Burns circuits still.. Well, Queen gave some advice." He murmurs.
- (Zephyr)
- "Found something cool..."
- One of the assumptions made by the sarradian was correct - he'd found something cool that'd help him learn. He allows a laugh to escape his lips at the other assumptions, just shaking his head to disprove the suspicions. And when he's done he then speaks. He sounds excited and he's smiling.
- "There's an adventure some other people are going on! In the city they said that Rosalie's dad had some skeletons make a boat for some people, and they want to use it to go see the strongest storms. They're going to the Peace Barrier to see the storms there!" He says.
- The Peace Barrier is a place many must know of. It's the obstacle which prevents many from exiting this region of Eternia, and others from coming in. It's plagued with very dangerous storms. Powerful and potent storms. Zephyr must've heard of it by now, especially as an aspiring Storm Magi. Caerus did.
- "I want to go ask them can I come, too. I don't know who they are, but whatever. It's someone I heard was named Vale...know them?" He then says. Maybe Zephyr would know them.
- But as for being taught, he's very enthusiastic. He motions for Zephyr to begin explaining with the motioning of his hands saying to fast forward. "Okay! Tell me about what you learned!"
- (Caerus)
- Zephyr was definitely one of the people who was aware of the existence of the Peace Barrier-- a place where one could be destroyed if they tried to cross-- said to be the origins of storm magic by some-- given how the first brought a student there to learn from the storm... Either way, the Sarradian himself stares at Caerus as he speaks.
- "... Ooh, am going to go then." He says, as if he didn't plan to ask. Perhaps there wasn't even plans to ask, instead to stow away-- or he would simply ask Marula as soon as he could if it was possible to go.
- ... Finding Vale? It sounded boring. He didn't even know the Mabon-- how would he find him? Exactly! Zephyr shakes his head, before he thinks it over.
- "... Err, adventure would help a lot. Queen says should get shocked by lightning by normal storm, then channel power of it." He explains.
- "... Is all? Should try to get to part where learns how storm magic works for you now, yes?"
- (Zephyr)
- He takes a few steps forward.
- One of his hands is placed on the shoulder of the other boy, and then he nods. They'd both find the person intending to venture to the Peace Barrier and go. Otherwise they'd probably do it themselves anyways. Caerus would anyways. But..
- He has nothing else to mention, so instead he just listens to Zephyr. They haven't told him much about Storm Magic so he's intent on listening intently. If he's able to get some more information regarding Storm Magic it'd only help him.
- "Keep on talking, I'm taking my notes. Inside of my head, but still. Maybe I can get shocked by a cloud...like when I learned lightning magic." He remembered being taught by Zephyr. The sarradian shocked him after explaining the concept, then he was able to use it himself!
- Maybe it'd help again by being affected by a cloud.
- "Keep going with explaining!" He urges.
- (Caerus)
- Now that he was intent on teaching, it was time to do his best -- a hand moves to push Caerus' off of his shoulder before he backs up once more. Storm magic was dangerous, and therefore-- it was best to try and keep distance if he was going to practice it. His eyes close-- and leylines begin to glow beneath the skin gently, himself lightning up briefly...
- "The storm magic is like -- err, making the little storms, yes? The water is the rain, the wind is the wind, and the lighting is the storm... The water is in the cloud and so is the wind part -- kind of, kind of uses..." He pauses, briefly-- a hand arcs as simple clouds are made. It was no Anariel-cloud, but it was a cloud that wasn't magically charged-- it lacked the potency of Anariel's, for sure.
- "Creates clouds, then gives lightning -- puts lightning in to make much stronger." He explains. Lightning begins to charge into a palm as he sticks it in-- the water within the cloud absorbs it, and with a lack of resistance, it takes a few moments before the entire cloud has the lightning flowing through it. It darkens in color-- saturated by the lightning..
- ... The power introduces a burning sensation to his circuits-- it was a sense of pain, something that he simply couldn't stop. A long breath is drawn in -- the boy exhaling with a bit of a sigh.
- Clouds dissipate as his hands lower. His eyes close!
- "... The storm is powerful, too strong for mana lines -- but can do it in small bits."
- (Zephyr)
- He listens to the explanation.
- Combining the elemental magics was a process which requires the three to be in harmony with one another. In this perfect harmony there were a few steps some would take. The basics of creating a miniature storm cloud, which is a component of Storm Magic. He takes it as this.
- First you're required to combine that of water and wind together, which'd create a cloud of varying sizes depending on the potency of the magics. Then one'd need to infuse that cloud with one's lightning magic and allow it to flow through the cloud easily through it's winds and water specifically. Once you do it'd become that of a storm cloud.
- It sounds easy, but combining the three aren't really as such. At least not on the scale of an actual Storm Magi. Using these three magics at the same time and combining them takes a lot of control and power. Zephyr makes a demonstration of the whole process, but it obviously shows that it's hard with the slightly pained expression at his face before the cloud is desummoned.
- "Sounds easy, but really hard to do how I imagine it. You first start by making the cloud though, right?" He says, and then his eyebrows furrow in thought. "You just have to add water and wind together first?" He asks. If that's so, he wants to try it himself.
- (Caerus)
- "Yes, are have to make the cloud first." He explains -- he stares briefly at the ground before he looks back at what was still fading from him-- lightning saturated clouds that were being dismissed by his magic... On the bright side, his circuits would recover far faster than if he tried to keep it out any longer-- or fought someone with it.
- "Cloud is... Um, kind of like wind and water, does not know how would make it but just kind of knows how. Think of clouds and then make with magic!!" He exclaims. There was no explanation for clouds-- it was something he just picked up naturally.
- "Then add lightning, and has storms." He explains further.
- "... Then has storm magic!"
- (Zephyr)
- "Hmph."
- The explanation isn't one which gives him many pointers, and he didn't have any knowledge on clouds himself to come up with a theory. Although he'd been very interested in the magic of storms he hadn't done much book research. A little on the lazy side for such formal things.
- So he has to come up with a theory himself. A theory of how he'd make a cloud.
- Coming up with the theory requires two things; imagery and coming up with a process. He wants to start with imagery - so he first looks up to the clouds in the sky far up above. There are many different clouds, but his eye is caught by a set of light cirrus clouds. He wants the cloud he makes to look like one of those light strands.
- It shouldn't be something so hard to create, he thinks. But he doesn't have a theory. All he knows is that you need to add water and wind together. So that's exactly what he does. Some wind from a nearby water is grabbed, then currents of wind begin to form. The wind fans at the water as it swirls around the body.
- It starts to slowly change. It looks less like a free flowing liquid. It starts to change, resembling a crystal. It changed into a ball of ice. It's not what he aimed for. The wind was so strong and in an excessive amount that it cooled the water into a solid form!
- "U-Uh..." He says in embarassment. This isn't a cloud!
- (Caerus)
- The Sarradian watches Caerus give his best attempt with creating a cloud, and as he watches on... Well, it seems that he's not doing it right -- or rather, he's not sure how to do it. Either way, it's not a cloud that he makes, but instead, he'd formed a shard of ice-- and a large one at that. He chuckles briefly. So many ice magi that he knew.
- "Did not know is ice mage." He says. "Ice magic is cool, yes?" He questions-- there's a brief pause.
- "... But is not cloud. Think of cloud, think of, like, fluffy maybe? Think of fluffy clod and try again."
- (Zephyr)
- "I-I've never made ice!"
- The creation of the sphere of ice wasn't one he'd done intentionally. Considering how he'd had the image of a cloud in his head and the suspicion that the theory would work, he'd tried it out but his effort fruitless. He instead made a whole new sort of magic. This isn't cloud magic.
- But when he looks at the ball of ice hovering above his head, full of his arcanas of water and wind, he smiles. It wasn't a creation he intended on making but it's one that he welcomes. A new trick up his sleeve and something he could advance on. "I guess I'm learning two things today."
- He says as he shares a chuckle with Zephyr, but then shakes his head. He needs to focus on making a cloud, not ice! He goes back to imagining the cloud he'd created in his imagination. Much like one of the clouds up above. Narrow yet fluffy, and with a white coloration to it.
- First he allows wind magic to swirl around. It takes a certain shape. The wind itself is making an outline of the cloud in his mind, though very rough and free flowing. It's interesting to bend the wind in such a way. He's able to do it because of the many years he's had using the magic.
- And then he introduces the water. Instead of focusing on the wind working it's magic on water, he wants to let the water interact with the wind primarily. He brings it over and lets it mold into the currents of wind. It sits on the current's mold. Slowly the water sinks into the wind..
- Then it's form begins to change. It's something coming into view of the naked human eye. A formation of fluff, much like a wisp of smoke at first. But it starts to become bigger and bigger. Caerus's expression is one showing utmost concentration as he channels his mana into the magics and tries to wield them together.
- And after a while there is something. It's the size of an ordinary bucket or something of that size. It's a very small and thin, yet fluffy looking, cloud. "L-Like this, Zephyr!?"
- (Caerus)
- Had he not watched Rowan do the exact same thing only a few days ago, the Sarradian would've been more impressed with it-- but alas, he'd seen ice magic formed by a certain half-spriggan a bit ago. Either way, he looks at the boy briefly.
- "... Hmm, is neat." He says. "Have seen the ice magic before, by someone, a few days ago though..." He explains, shrugging-- of course, with that, the young child looks around.
- He could make ice, and now he was trying to make a cloud-- and as the process goes by, he watches as it seems to be a success. The Sarradian grins as it's successfully done... Then he crosses his arms.
- "... Yes, did good. Is a cloud. Add lightning and get storm, but be careful; hurts if not strong enough like Queen is." He explains.
- (Zephyr)
- "Add the lightning..."
- The whisper escapes from him as a reminder of the instruction he'd been given. He eyes the cloud ahead of him with a very noticable smile at his lips, but now sweat developing on his forehead. He's nervous about whether he'd be able to keep the cloud up or not. And when adding lightning to the mix is mentioned.
- Creating a storm cloud will be a difficult thing.
- It's a strain on one to exert such an amount of mana, keeping the magics under one's control all at the same time, and so on and so forth. There's a lot of difficulties to using the three magics of lightning, water, and wind together for a storm cloud. And it's something that will hurt, as Zephyr says.
- But Caerus doesn't want to quit.
- He'd wanted to take his first steps forward as a Storm Magi for a while now. This is the start he needs. So he does as commanded. He summons a bit of lightning to appear in the middle of the cloud, while simultaneously keeping that cloud under control. It's form starts to falter when he adds in the lightning, but he kind of keeps control of it.
- But in the middle of controlling the cloud? The lightning starts to arc around it and the amount of mana he is channeling to create the lightning suddenly rises to a great amount. He's not great at multitasking with his mana. It causes the lightning to suddenly go out of control, suddenly bursting out from the cloud itself.
- The cloud was only slightly grey and with lightning in it for a moment, then it acted up. His mana reserves are exhausted of the mana and he loses control in the end. Lightning branches out, and for some odd reason it's directed to Caerus himself. It reaches him and nothing else in the area.
- And he's met with the shock of a lifetime. Zephyr shocking him when he first learned lightning magic hurt, but this uncontrolled and wild form of lightning that entered his body...it's worse. Though it doesn't cut at him and burning it moves inside of his body. Pain rushed through him.
- "AH!" He screams in pain as he falls to his knees. The cloud dissipates into thin air and the lightning was absorbed into his body. A very pained expression is on his face and he's screaming for the next few seconds. Things didn't work out as intended, but he did do it for a moment..
- He made a storm cloud for a moment.
- (Caerus)
- As he watches Caerus try to take the first step of storm magic -- failure, the Sarradian watches on with a simple chuckle. He'd warned him a few times about it, and it seemed that he wanted to go for it anyways. As the storm magic is created, his eyes widen-- watching it from a point of view that wasn't first person, after all, was exciting.
- It almost seemed to be the exact same as the way he'd done it-- however, the lightning within the clouds almost seemed to shock them to death-- or at least his circuits...
- Zephyr knew the dangers of this magic, but it didn't seem like he ever wanted to stop trying. His arms are crossed as Zephyr watches Caerus go through the same pains he always did with this magic.
- "... Told you is hard!" He exclaims. Nice.
- (Zephyr)
- He's groveling on the floor in pain.
- The jolt of lightning rushing through his body isn't a pleasant experience. Considering that it's own creation he should've been able to control it, but he didn't. Instead it went beserk and caused him trouble. Pain was going through his body and he couldn't help but scream in pain for the first few seconds.
- A cathartic release of the pain he's feeling and irritation.
- But after a while of laying on the ground, almost losing consciousness from the pain, he starts to take in heavy breaths. He's gaining back his composure. Both his hands are very tight fist grinding into the ground slightly. The lightning rushing through his body surely hurt. And Zephyr telling him so didn't help.
- "G-Got...got to get better." He says after a while. He has to be able to control his magics and not rush anything too much. That's probably what he'll focus on next. And after that thought he thinks of helping himself.
- Water rushes out from a nearby well and covers over his body. It numbs him and heals him to a slight extent. Some of it covers his outer body then some enters inside of his body to heal his external pain. Then it's brought out from the mouth. An odd thing to watch for sure, but an efficient way of healing himself.
- (Caerus)
- Zephyr doesn't make much of an attempt to help him -- it was possible that he'd damaged his mana circuits for only a bit, after all-- they would heal over time... It was the danger of trying to channel a power one wasn't ready for -- one their circuits couldn't handle... Regardless, he stares at him, perhaps he'd be chuckling once more.
- "... Will feel better soon. Just heals over time." He says. His friend was on the ground in pain, and he had no intent to sit there with him and wait!
- "... So, Peace Barrier, hmm? Who should try and talk to? Will go find them in city right now while waits here and heals." He says.
- (Zephyr)
- "Vale Mabon."
- The name is announced to his friend, informing him of the name of the person they should be searching for. Though he wants to go with his friend, his injury is quite a nasty one. When he tries to get up he ends up falling back onto his knees. He's very sore and numb now. And the spores of sleepiness in the air aren't helping to keep his energy.
- "Find him and ask if you can go! Don't tell him my name or ask for me, but ask if other people can come too. I want to talk to him myself! That's the guy's name though, from what I hear pal..." That's what he heard from the rumors.
- But as for what he'd do while Zephyr is out searching for Vale? He'd succumb to the sleep inducing spores of the garden. Instead of trying to get back up he'd start to curl into a ball and his eyelids come together. His lips curl up in a content smile, feeling that sleep will solve the hurt he feels.
- "...Nap time.." He says to Zephyr before the noticable rise and fall of his chest. Going to take a nap.
- (Caerus)
- "Vale?" He questions-- something about it seemed familiar, but he had an idea of who it could be! It was surely that kid that was in the garden-- calling it stupid and things alike that... He looks twards the gates of the garden, before walking towards it. He looks back at Caerus, first! He was, in a way, injured after all-- how could he help?
- "... Oh yes, if drinks tea may help to feel better." He suggests-- in truth, he didn't know a specific kind of tea that would help. But drinking tea certainly felt like it would help! With that, the Sarradian turns away-- and he walks towards the city of Alteros to find someone who could bring him onto that boat ride.
