  6. Early discussion and routing went on for a few months then died down.
  7. Used IGT at the end screen as timer.

  9. Earliest first RTA run probably by Rebcart in 2012 - 37:52 RTA.

  13. Mid 2013, SlayerOfBabies had a 36:33 (Single Segment, aka no qsql) (Video removed)

  15. Late 2013, Rydou started runs and also capped fps at 60 for consistant walking speed.
  16. With Rydous suboptimal route he got times at around 34 minutes. Dam skip (the rock jump) is found by Rydou. (Videos lost due to twitch archiving)

  20. Mid 2014, QSQL clips are introduced to New Vegas, based on Fallout 3 clipping. This makes Any% have some actual difference than just skipping the dialogue at Doc Mitchell.

  22. The 29:58 stands for over a year until Fivexual finds a glitch called Speedcripple in Fallout 3. Turns out it also works in Fallout: New Vegas.

  24. 2015-05-31, kungkobra beats the 29:58 with a 28:17 thanks to Speedcripple. DLC with a grenade launcher is introduced to the route to easily get the glitch, which Rydou dislikes but goes along with anyway.

  28. 2015-08-07 RawrCruz gets a 23:57, which stood for a few days until Rydou took it back with a 22:58.

  30. 2015-11-20 kungkobra beats the 22:58 with the introduction of Italian voice files and gets a 22:46.

  32. A week later Swags_The_Dog beats the 22:46 with a 22:34.

  34. 2015-11-29 kungkobra gets a 21:53 with the introduction of the Basement Cutscene Skip.

  36. December 2015 Swags and Kung trade records several times and strats such as Dam Checkpoint Clip and early Legate was found by Petite_Miku.

  42. April 2016 Time Stop is introduced to the speedrun, allowing the run to skip walking through McCarran and through climbing enter the monorail. This skip allowed for the first sub 20 minutes run.

  44. 2016-04-21 The last Speedcripple record is set at 19:39 by kungkobra.

  46. 2016-04-28 Fallout: New Vegas speedrunning stopped being a walking simulator, when reddit user PM_ME_A_SteamKey posts a thread on /r/speedrun in which he does the glitch we now call "Reload Dashing" with a keyboard. A variant of the glitch was known to be performed with a controller before, but now it's actually useful since this method was easier.

  50. 2016-06-17 The last Any% to feature Speedcripple. Since Reload Dashing was found we tried to combine dashing and speedcripple (A terrible combination), and the final time was 15:30 by kungkobra.

  52. 2016-08-20 Speedcripple is dead. By using 10 Agility (Suggested by ProGamingWithEd) the reload speed was fast and doing controlled dashes forward was faster than doing it blindly sideways. The new record was 15:11 by kungkobra.

  54. 2017-03-14 It is discovered that you can interrupt the reload animation for faster dashing, but the technique is not put into use yet as it was seen to be too annoying.

  56. 2017-05-02 The 13:45 time by kungkobra is the first record to use the interrupting technique to dash.

  58. 2017-07-07 Route change suggested by Rhombu to kill Benny with weapons instead of using Black Widow on him. Ends up saving time, and changing the DLC used for the run.

  60. 2017-07-15 First record with Benny lobby kill is set at 13:25 by kungkobra.

  62. 2017-09-26 The first sub 13 is set at 12:47 by kungkobra.

  64. 2017-10-02 kungkobra is dethroned after 22 months of being first place. The new record holder is Sharo with a 12:42.

  66. 2017-10-03 kungkobra gets the record back with a time of 12:38.

  68. 2019-02-21 Sharo is on a record spree and shortly after taking the Fallout 3 Any% time, he moves on to New Vegas and snatches this one as well, with an impressive time of 12:17.

  70. 2019-06-03 Runner Besk accidentally finds a new way to abuse the revolver animation, and turns out that you can glitch movement even more. We can now quite literally fly through the wasteland at mach speed. The discord dives into researching and eventually a decent method is developed.

  72. 2019-06-05 Sharo uses the new Infinite Dash to push the time down to 11:31.

  74. 2019-06-07 Sharo improves the run by another 19 seconds. Record is now 11:12.

  76. 2019-06-13 The first sub 11 (!) is taken by Sharo with a time of 10:59.

  78. 2019-06-14 Sharo continues his streak and pushes the record down to 10:32.

  80. 2020-05-14 11 months later, newcomer WaveClipping beats Sharo's time after a serious grinding effort and gets a time of 10:29.

  82. 2020-12-02 Sharo picks up any% again to regain the record and gets a time of 10:21.

  84. 2021-05-14 Sharo starts to improve his time due to a new technique that allows you to drop height in the infinite dash and gets a 10:07, but doesn't post video.

  86. 2021-05-21 Sharo gets the first ever sub 10, a big milestone in the any% speedrun. Finishing time of 9:50.

  88. 2021-10-15 Waveclipping gets the record back after an unknown amount of offline grinding, setting the record at 9:36.

  90. 2022-02-21 Waveclipping starts grinding Any% again and beats his time with one second, putting record at 9:35.
  91.  
  92. 2022-03-14 Waveclipping shaves off another 4 seconds, putting the record at 9:31.
  93.  
  94. 2022-03-26 Waveclipping has broken another barrier, pushing Any% below 9:30, setting a time of 9:27.
