A New Beginning

Kallik was sitting at the edge of a lake staring out across the smooth rippling surface. She was basking in the sunlight happy to be at one of her favorite spots in Westopolis. Kallik always went to the lake when she needed to think about something and the lake always helped her think clearly. “Two years of world peace” she said aloud “Two years since that day and here I still feeling conflicted about what too feel about It.” she sighed heavily. Kallik wasn’t sure if she felt happy or sad at the fact that she lost her best friend and potential love. He was evil and she was evil but when they were together she never really did care about all that she was just happy to be with him. Shaking her head to clear her mind she thought I shouldn’t care about him anymore. All he cared about was getting rid of Zenic and his friends I’m glad he’s gone now I can move on. She stood up and picked up a stone and imagined filling it with all her hate and anger and her past once she felt all of her feelings were put into the stone she flung it across the lake surface it skipped 5 times then sunk to the bottom of the lake “Good bye Kallik.” She said as she walked away from her past ready to begin a new future and better future.
Kallik was walking down the street unusually high spirited when she passed the mall. Kallik backed up and looked at the building then at her reflection in the window. “Maybe it’s time I changed my wardrobe” she said “A start to a new life begins with a new look” she entered the building and shopped around then found the perfect outfit after her outfit she changed her fur color and her hair style. An hour later Kallik came out of the mall feeling and looking better. She looked in the window again she dyed her hair blue and put them up in pigtails, she wore shore and a cute orange top with a red band and had her fur dyed to a magenta color. Happy with how she looked Kallik then went looking for a place to stay she found a nice five star hotel and got a nice suite for cheap. Kallik collapsed onto the bed as soon as she changed into her night clothes, tired from the huge change she made a few minutes later she was fast asleep her dreams were no longer troubled with the face of her past love and what she did back then it was just a peaceful rest that she needed.
Kallik ended up sleeping for a few days when she woke up it was already Friday. She got up and stretched well rested “Today seems like a good day for a walk” she announced and got dressed then headed out. She walked around town and then back to her favorite spot by the lake she laid down and closed her eyes thinking about what to do now. The vixen accidently dozed off it was only for about 5 minutes when she felt that someone was hovering above her. Kallik panicked since she didn’t have her weapons on her she sat up quickly on to knock heads with whoever it was she heard a thump. She guessed the impact of skulls hurt them as much as it hurt her she held her head and moaned in pain “Ow! Damn it that hurt!” she yelled.
“Sorry! I didn’t think you’d react so fast” a voice replied.
Kallik turned to see a young guy around her age what was he doing? She thought to herself and what does he want? The guy got up and brushed himself off then offered Kallik his hand she took it and the guy pulled her to her feet.
Once the pain subsided she got a good look at the boy. His fur was blue and he had grass green eyes the boy wore black gloves, a black and red striped jacked with black pants and red and white shoes.
“Really I’m sorry about that I didn’t think you’d get up that fast” he said
“Well I’m a light sleeper” Kallik replied “Who are you?”
“Who me? My name is Christopher but everyone calls me Chris.”
“You’re weird looking I’ve never seen someone like you before.”
Chris laughed “You mean my species? I’m a Snow Leopard no one really sees much of us since we live in colder areas but I wanted to change and move some place warm.”
“You’re a Snow Leopard? That’s pretty cool” Kallik said with admiration
“Thanks, but enough about me. Who are you?”
“My name is Kallik” she said simply
“Kallik . . . That’s a beautiful and very unique name” he said with a smile
“Oh, uh, thanks.” Kallik said shyly “Back to the situation at hand here why were you hovering over me?”
“I was just wondering what you were doing and I thought you passed out or something so I was just making sure you was alright.”
“Well I was just taking a nap.”
“Okay glad to hear that.”
They stood in silence for a few moments until Kallik finally said something.
“Well um it was nice meeting you Chris. See you around.” She turned and started to walk away when Chris stopped her.
“What do you want now?”
“I was um wondering if you wanted to hang out today.” He said sheepishly
“Why?” she asked puzzled
“Well because I don’t have any friends and since you seem nice so . . .”
“I guess it can’t hurt. I can show you around town if you’d like”
“That would be great!” he exclaimed
“Alright follow me.” Kallik said and lead the way through the city and Chris followed her. They explored all around the city and had lunch together at Kallik’s favorite pizzeria shop. Then they went to the movies and saw a few films together by the time Kallik finished her tour it was already 11pm. Chris looked at the time
“Wow look at how late it is.” He exclaimed “I guess we should go home.”
“Yea you’re right. Well I’ll see you see you around then.” Kallik said and turned to leave when he stopped her again “You enjoy doing that don’t you?” she said turning around.
“No I was just wondering if I could stay at your place since I don’t have a place of my own yet.”
“Well I only live in a hotel room it’s nice but it only has one bed”
“Its fine you won’t even notice I’m there please!”
She thought about it for a moment and then decided why not.
“Sure I don’t mind come on.”
Kallik took him to the hotel she was staying at and took him to her suite she told him that she didn’t mind sharing a bed with him as long as he kept his paws to himself he promised to do so and she went to take a shower and got changed. They both got into bed and laid back to back to each other Kallik and Chris said a brief goodnight before turning the lights off. Within minutes Christopher was out like a light but Kallik was having trouble sleeping again her worries started to come back so she laid still in the darkness thinking about the past and soon she felt alone and somewhat afraid and started to shake with sadness. Suddenly she felt warmth on her back and arms around her she looked behind her to see that it was Chris he turned over and cuddled close to her in his sleep. Kallik smiled at him and remembered that so far on her new path she made a new and close friend and had fun not doing anything that involved harming others. With that thought her mind was at ease and fell asleep within a few minutes. They stayed cuddled together all night. Chris was the first to wake up and saw what he did in his half asleep state and jumped out of bed hoping Kallik hadn’t noticed. As she slept on Chris grabbed his clothes out of his bag and went to take a shower. A few moments later Kallik awoke and headed straight for the bathroom not knowing that Chris was taking a shower she opened the door and saw Chris in the shower. Chris noticed the door opened at looked at Kallik both of them wide eyed and blushing furiously Kallik slammed the door shut just as Chris covered himself.
“W-well that was unexpected” Chris said
“Wow. Just wow.” Kallik said still blushing as she went to the balcony to wait for Chris to finish his shower. Ten minutes later Chris came out and Kallik quickly rushed past him to the shower.
“Must still feel awkward about what happened. . .” he said aloud “I’ll make it up to her by making breakfast!”
Christopher made breakfast while Kallik was in the bathroom and when she came out he had already made a breakfast buffet. There was waffles, pancakes, sausage, bacon and many more breakfast food spread out on the table. Kallik looked at Chris confused and he explained
“Well I just wanted to make up for what happened earlier” he said with a goofy grin
“Thanks a lot.” She said and sat down and ate all the different foods he made “This is really good!”
“Thank you very much I always thought I was a pretty good cook”
The two sat in silence for a long while the silence was almost deafening until Chris spoke up.
“Hey, Kallik?”
 “What is it Chris?”
“I was wondering if you wanted to share a house with me.”
“Why?”
“Well because I can’t afford a nice house by myself and if we both put something into it we can find something real nice and in our price range”
“When you put it like that it does make sense and it’s better than hotel hopping so sure why not.” She agreed
“Great! We should start looking now!” Chris jumped out of his chair grabbed Kallik’s hand and pulled her out the door. They went to all kinds of houses till they found the perfect house not too far from the city but far enough to see the stars clearly at night. The two bought the house and moved everything in and by the time it was completely personalized it had already been 2 weeks and during those two weeks Chris and Kallik got closer and formed a very powerful friendship.
“Well it’s finally done” Kallik said as she pats Chris on the back “Good work”
“Same to you.” He replied with a yawn “Now it’s time to sleep in here for the first time”
“Yea finally a home I can call my own.”
“Goodnight Kallik”
“’Night Chris”
The two went to their rooms and had a good night’s rest.
They’ll need as much rest as they can get because the road ahead will be quiet bumpy for these two roommates.
