- After a noticeable reduction of drifter attacks on null sec structures earlier this week, it appears that another wave of attacks is forming. Adding to the confusion, concords SCC division has announced that New Eden’s fluid router FTL communication network is under enormous pressure, due the combined impact of the Triglavian and Drifter invasions. Resupply of the vital quantum entangled 4-helium super fluid used in the network is increasingly under threat. To ensure sustainable operation of the FTL comms network and guard against the risk of strategic communications being compromised, the SCC will be enforcing reduced bandwidth across its null sec routers. With Drifter sticks continuing for over a week this assault represents the fort major offensive by the drifter since their attack on the Amarr empire four years ago. Hitting dozens of systems during the first wave attacks, the drifters roamed between jump gates, asteroids belts and structures. Attacking anyone and anything they encountered. Their fleets were often striking multiple targets simultaneously in each system. After brief pause in the assault the Drifters seem now to be initiating another wave of attacks. Not only are they attacking structures, but they also seem to be targeting more focus towards hunting down and destroying individual pilots. It should be noted that Drifters, if given the opportunity, will always mercilessly pod capsuleers. Taking both Concord and capsuleers complete by surprise the attacks have created considerable concern and confusion among the null sec power blocks. Once the predicted local communication black out is imposed, capsuleers warlords will have to deal with the developing situation without intelligence gathered from automated registration on local solar system channels. The SCC has additionally stated that if the scale of the attacks continues, then their fluid routers are not expected to support full services in null sec beyond another week or so. In light of this it seems clear that the null sec blackout will take place very soon, this is Lena Amber reporting for the Scope.
