  2. Life: After and Before the Internet
  3. The world has changed since the birth of a certain technology: the internet. The fact that people nowadays are able to finish tasks faster than ever before with the help of the internet is amazing. The internet is a network of networks that consists of millions of private and public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by wireless connections, and other technologies. It not only linked connections, but it also connected the lives of many people around the world. Life has changed as we know it after the birth of the internet compared to than before it existed.
  4.
  5. The internet made it possible for almost instantaneous actions to take place with tasks that took days or hours to finish processing to when it wasn’t created yet. Mailing someone a document anywhere in the world became faster than ever. It now only takes a few minutes for a document to arrive at the recipient’s inbox using e-mail or electronic mail. One more thing is that researching for information becomes much easier because of search engines, pictures, and videos uploaded by internet users. The old-
  6. fashioned way was to go scour books for information that is a bit complicated to find, although most books are packed with useful information not often found in the internet.
  7.
  8. On the other hand, not having the internet has its ups as well. One can practice hard work by being not dependent on technology. Most of the younger generation cannot even fathom life without the internet. It is safe to say that those who have privilege will depend on technology more. While the underprivileged will do what they can until they have the opportunity to do so. It is true that technology has made it efficient for us people to get things done, but it has changed the way we do it. It is not necessarily bad or something like that. Some believe that the internet encourages laziness because of the fact that one only needs to be stationary in order to get a particular task done. For example, writing about a certain topic is done by typing it on a word processor and searching for information by utilizing a search engine. This is done rather by manually searching for the information within other references and publications.
  9.
  10. Various developments occurred with the birth of the internet. These include that the types of communication that diversified over the years. Instant messaging using messengers and video conversations like the software known as “Skype”, but prior to the internet there was the telegram and the trusty telephone. Even education became a point of interest because the internet made it possible for communication between educators and students online. One can even shop at home with their computer and eliminate the act of going to a store to purchase something is quite convenient. Boundaries like location became a thing of the past since an educator from the United States can now teach a student in Europe by using video and audio transmission. Not only that, books and other publications are added in
  11. the internet in a holding of documents called a database and the ease of access makes it easy like counting one, two, and three.
  12.
  13. Lastly, things have really changed for the better with the growth of the economy over the years. The internet provides entertainment in the comfort of our own homes. It also made business moving because of online retailing. Trading between consumers and business became a thing of commerce. The internet also took part in education as it online classes, publications, and it offers growing careers pertaining to it. The uses of the internet are seemingly infinite in number as people find ways of its utilization. The internet changed life as we know it, and some may ask on how life now is different prior to the existence of the internet. From telegrams to e-mails and telephones to video calls, the internet is a bustling creation.
