  1. Darkness. You feel naught but darkness, as you are brought to your senses. Your eyes open soon, and your nose picks up the scent of saltwater. Your face, is rubbing against something soft, but also granularly. Sand, your brain dictates. It doesn't take long for you to tell you have landed on a beach.
  2.
  3. You stand up, and dust yourself off, before shaking your head to, seemingly dust off something out of your thoughts as well, and then proceeding with the newest action in your to do list. Looking around. You are indeed in a shore. The sea is incredibly calm, and only gently waves had been caressing your face before.
  4.
  5. However, the scenery begs to differ. Pieces of a ship, metal pieces, engine parts, and even cannons are spread all over the shoreline. You seem to have been, apparently, safe from this fatal collision. There is nobody else around...no corpse, or living being of any sort. No bloodstains either.
  6.
  7. And strangely enough a few items have survived. What appears to be... A bottle of wine, a small albeit very fancy rapier, some sort of experimental pistol, from what you can see, a map, of the world... Are you sure its of the world?..., and then you have a cape of sorts, looking fancy and emblazoned with an unfamiliar emblem.
  8.
  9. There is a helmet, akin to that of a soldier, a message, sealed inside a bottle, and then there seems to be a necklace of some sort, with a series of gems embedded. The last two items involve this strange picture, put within a frame, and then a piece of rope.
  10.
  11. You should probably pick a few on your way out of there. Strange, how these items too have survived in such good shape. However, they are unlikely to have all belonged to you, or been in possession of a single person. After all what sort of person would both carry a simple soldier helm, a telescope, a rope and a fancy cape?
  12.
  13. Nevertheless, you walk on. You notice a bit of a forested area, down the shore. There is a small cliff too. And further in the distance, you spy some smoke rising. Would you daringly go and explore? You seem to be dressed very modestly, in a plain shirt and pants. But they are wet.
  14.
  15. Luckily you are in the heat of the sun, right now, so if you hang by it, you will dry up. A look to the side, will reveal how after a few good miles of going in land, from the white sandy beaches you will eventually chance into forested lands once more.
  16.
  17. As you walk, you notice something in your pants...a.. Sealed letter. Hmmm, how has it not been damaged by the presence of seawater? Assuming you open it up, and chose to read it...
  18.
  19. The person sending it, is apparently...

  41. The name and address strike you as...unfamiliar. Who are these people, and why have they written to you? You remember only bits and pieces from what happened before coming here.
  42.
  43. You most certainly were on a ship. You came from a large city... You had a life there. It was nice, enjoyable. You remember a terrible accident, a storm, perhaps...or something worse. You recall...reading the letter at some point too.
  44.
  45. But this is beyond you now. At the moment, surviving and making it somewhere safe, is the top priority. So go ahead! Survive! Oh... There is a pen, apparently, in your possession, to respond to the letter with!
