- Fun > rules. If we’re not having fun, I’m totally down with bending or ignoring a rule.
- All base/PHB and Volo's races are allowed. Not going to allow any homebrew classes or subclasses for this, but the UA/revised ranger is allowed. I'll also allow Unearthed Arcana subclasses unless it's the modern magic related ones.
- I’ll generally allow homebrew backgrounds if you run them by me first, and they aren’t too ridiculous. If it’s too ridiculous, I will work with you to find something less ridiculous.
- Other players may award Inspiration, not just the DM. You may award Inspiration to any other player (except yourself) once per session. Inspiration is retained between sessions.
- As a heads up: I’ll be using several of the optional rules presented in Xanathar’s Guide to Everything. Most of these concern the DCs for certain tasks involving tools and specialized situations like waking sleeping creatures.
- I’ll let you choose between rolling stats (4d6 drop lowest) or standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8.) However, I really encourage the former.
- A Bard’s Countercharm ability is now a bonus action instead of an action.
- You can use either Strength or Dexterity for all bows. I’m surprised this isn’t in RAW.
- If you are playing a wild magic sorcerer, I will require you to roll a d20 every time your character casts a spell that isn’t a cantrip. Additionally, wild magic surges will occur on both natural 1s and natural 20s.
- I’m going to be ignoring encumbrance, except for very bulky/heavy items like large kegs of ale.
