Reasoning: Marielle tried to heal both Hikari and Kitai with everything she had at the moment, only to fail miserably due to lack of knowledge. Still, the frustration lingered long after, and she stubbornly followed both Hikari and Kitai around, blasting them with holy energy, until it no longer did anything. When she was not doing that, she was pouring through her own notes on magic to try and find anything that could help her heal faster, as well as digging around in medical texts. Maybe she missed something. Whenever she studies with Kriszta as well, she bugs them for any information.

Part of her testing is to see if she can some how donate her own life to those she heals, via medicines or magic transfers or even a blood transfusion. Anything that could help bolster those who are hurt.
