Dream - 1/20/2021

Prologue: The Binary Test
My dad got something called the “Binary Test”. Which is like this brain surgery where they look at the “binary” or whatever in your brain for several days while you are locked in an endless dream (Dreamception Dream). I did not have a sister in this dream. Instead I had a brother which was Quil, and I think Quil was somehow half a year younger than me in this dream (my sister is 1.5 years younger). Me and Quil were both going to get the Binary Test at the same time, that way we would be together and the dreams would be more likely to be pleasant.

Part 1: Playing DS homebrew games with my brother Quil
Earlier in the Dream, me and Quil were bonding by playing a collection of multiplayer homebrew DS games made by Capcom that I put on both of our flashcarts (Reoccurring dream). This time many of the games were updated and I was curious how it had worked. After checking the game rom-data, I had realized I had a new version updated in April of 2020 was released. I was absolutely amazed that Capcom would still be updating a homebrew for the DS in 2020. It also contained a bunch of non Capcom IP’s including Sonic the Hedgehog and Klonoa.

The game has a lobby where you can play as any of the characters together with your friends while selecting a level (think SM64 castle). Me and Quil had gone through a vent and made it to a secret museum area that described all the characters the game and their origins. Quil had suddenly taken on Jay’s voice while we were discussing it (probably because the two paintings next to eachother were Tails & Klonoa. Suddenly, my Mom was getting mad at us because we were spending our entire day playing these games. But we were having so much fun playing these games, we didn’t care.

Part 2: The Binary Test begins
It was time for me and Quil to get the binary test. We both got to the lab and were put to sleep pretty quickly. We would be out for several days so we were warned we may fall asleep inside our dreams from getting too tired and then start to believe our dreams were real life after waking up inside our dreams. I was particularly nervous about this, asking my dad what to expect. My brain is telling me my dad is not much of a dreamer so he said it was very confusing. Meanwhile Quil was much calmer going into this and seemed to have had a very good idea of what would happen. I wish I had asked him what to expect but I guess I didn’t since he hasn’t had it before either and was mostly expecting the unexpected.

The first dream was short, I was a Flygon (I blame rocks for this one) who also had the arm of a crane. Actually, I think me and Quil were both the Flygon at the same time. Anyway we were in this giant crate (think cargo) being held up in the air by a giant crane. Our job was just to use our newly acquired crane powers to move a bunch of smaller crates down to the floor (I think we were around 50 meters in the air). While we were doing our job, a omniscient narrator had came into our dream describing the ways pokemon were taking away the jobs of man made machines and how all of the man made machines were going to waste since they just were simply not going to have any work. Looking back I think this dream was fucking hilariously as this topic constantly comes up with self checkout at work. We were in this mining area that I think I have seen in a previous dream before, and there was a lot more to this part that I just simply unfortunately do not remember.

The second dream was a reoccurring one (I believe I have had this one before). Rox had found a skip in an area that doesn’t exist in Super Mario Odyssey which was used to get the first sub 1 hour. Basically you take this Icy-Cabbage + Jelly fish enemy (I think I had Freezeflame Galaxy’s kss in mind). You used this guy in the snow kingdom (the game had very realistic graphics for some reason) and this insane skip where you freeze a bunch of things offscreen and slowly glide to that area while doing weird shots to keep your height. This trick is really frickin hard, we just watched Rox lose a run to this trick, then we watched a past vod of Nicro losing a potential sub 1h run to this trick. One thing I thought was funny was that on rox’s splits, it was the world 3 subsplit and the split title was just 3-1 so it was actually fairly early in the run.

Part 3: The flashbacks

I had a flashback during the Binary Test. Sometimes when I dream, time is non-linear and my brain will jump to random points of the dream. The pastebin’s are written to piece these together back into a linear fashion. I think the big dream inside my dream had ANOTHER dream which was a flashback. Anyway I had a flashback back to while we were building up to the Binary Test. I was in a tent with me, Quil and my dad and randomly we found a bunch of old camera and walkie talkie equipment. I think for the most part tho, I was still asking my dad about the test since I was so nervous. The dream was beginning to fuck with me a little since I also had all the homework / projects I needed to finish for my classes on time since this test started on Sunday. I had class+work on Saturday and my next class would start Wednesday. I didn’t tell any of my profs because I was too nervous to email them since I already felt I was too late.

The last real dream (new dream) I remember in the big dream was with Quil again. Me and Quil and now my actual sister had joined us again we’re the 3 Galarain starters (I was grooky, quil was score bunny, my sister was sobble), in the Cosmic Ocean, in Minecraft. All 3 of the bubbles were next to eachother moving similarly to the way the birds from Celeste by the giant satellite were moving (https://twitter.com/brooklyn9d5/status/1351246646491947010). We were able to use the new character coffin sound cue to find some silver (yes) beneath the floor in a desert biome. It was night btw so it looked really cool. Eventually we had came up on a village at sunrise and the villagers were so welcoming, they gave us breakfast.

Then we found an iron golem who started digging out a 3 tile hole around 8 tiles wide, then placed water inside. Then placed a bunch of fences on the top tile. Then started creating a hole connected to the water source big enough to fit one of us. Then Quil had immediately realized what was going on. We were only halfway through the brain surgery and we were having baths irl while asleep. I then had a flashforward of the surgeons placing us inside a giant test tube in a standing position and they would clean us while asleep. I was now back to the dream, and the iron golem had picked me up and placed me in the 1 tile gap while the surgeons were doing the same to me irl. The way my body felt was moving felt different from the way grooky’s body was moving in the dream WHILE I was actually still irl. It was one of the wildest feelings I had ever felt before and I was unable to wake up.

I had one last flashback, I had woke up on the Thursday before the surgery at 9am (wait I just realized today is Thursday, what the fuck) and I looked at my calendar and realize my Mom was having the test today. I was just thinking about that in bed for like 15 minutes straight when I had finally woke up at 5:57am. 1 and a half hours later here I am finishing typing all this shit out.

TL;DR: Dream-ception dreams are fucking wild.
