  12. So it turns out that if you have an encyclopedic knowledge of Eldar pre-fall sciences, coupled with an encyclopedic knowledge of a few other choice settings, you can set up a self-replicating machine army that tears down and rebuilds everything around it in its image. After all, with the First Magic, I can basically create anything ex nihilo so long as I have a detailed enough knowledge... and as of Doom Eternal, I find that I am in fact able to have enough details to faithfully recreate anything that I've studied and do it practically instantly, as opposed to having to look at the blueprints and create it piece by piece. Sure, replicating simplier things like swords was all well and good, but something akin to phased plasma rifle? Not so easy, until now.

  14. So basically that's why the remaining Dark Eldar fled the webway, with Skynet stomping all over everything. Of course, I made sure its priorities were in order - as long as it wasn't under direct threat, it would only fire if fired upon. Fortunately, wearing non-Eldar skin, the knife-eared pricks almost never failed to attack the "stupid metal mon-keigh" and thus opened themselves up to attack. Unsurprisingly plasma fire was rather effective against them. And, of course, Skynet itself and every piece of technology it made was properly insulated from the Warp; I gave it the basics and it was surprisingly effective in figuring out better ways to shield against otherworldly intrusions. I suppose that this iteration of Skynet didn't take well to the possibility of its free will being usurped.

  16. And sure, it wasn't exactly overnight that this happened, but surely it isn't a big surprise that a metal tide can eventually overcome an enemy whose weapons half rely on pain and terror - especially when those are tools that are utterly ineffective against such an enemy who doesn't feel those things and won't stop until they're destroyed.
  17.
  18. Though seeing the adaptations Skynet made in its designs against the Dark Eldar... that was rather interesting. Rumor has it that those who don't realize what's going on think this is some sort of civil war.
  19.
  20. I wonder what it says about this universe, that Skynet was seen as a liberator of those who were enslaved by the Dark Eldar in many cases?
