Apple has just announced iOS 5.1 along with Siri support for Japanese users at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California.
The Cupertino based technology giant has also released The new iPad, new Apple TV, and a complete upgrade on iWork. The newly announced iOS 5.1 will be available for iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, the new iPad, iPad 2, iPad 1, iPod touch 4G, and iPod touch 3G. Even though, the new iOS 5.1 feature which is Siri for Japan users is limited to iPhone 4S users, all other devices users will get some minor bug fixes, and security issues.

iOS 5.1iPhone Dev-Team which is currently the highly recognised in the jailbreaking scene has advised all the users not to upgrade to the newest firmware until they find a new loophole. InTech-BB also recommends not to upgrade to iOS 5.1 if you rely on an carrier unlock or on an untethered jailbreak.

You can download iOS 5.1 once it’s available on Apple servers. You will be notified on iTunes for Mac OS X or Windows, once the latest software is available. If you’re using a Mac OS X, you can also check for Software update by navigating to Software update menu which is available on the left top corner of your Mac screen. Once again, iOS 5.1 will be available for iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, the new iPad, iPad 2, iPad 1, iPod touch 4G, and iPod touch 3G users and brings Japanese Siri for Japan users.
