- last we left off, Brian made a small stop in a small shack at the top of a mining quarry to assist Sracri in entering the Medium. We resume with Brian still in the shack
- ==BEGIN==
- Brian_Carter: I close down my laptop after deploying Sracri's devices. Don't need to watch that idiot do his thing.
- Brian_Carter: I leave the shack and proceed into the quarry.
- DM_TZIVOS: Doing that, you're able to see that the quarry is rather mundane, save for a few special details. It's structured and dug out like any other quarry, with mine tracks leading down in a semi-spiral towards a large building in the center of the quarry's pit, but next to the building are gargantuan clockwork gears in a neat pile, presumably the ones that had to be removed in order to even begin digging in the first place
- DM_TZIVOS: As you continue down, nothing much happens until you reach about 60 feet away from the large building
- DM_TZIVOS: Three impish creatures come walking out of the entrance, ignoring the rain as they mumble and chatter with each other
- DM_TZIVOS: Very soon, they notice you
- DM_TZIVOS: 45 feet between you and all three imps, roll for initiative
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+2 = 21
- DM_TZIVOS rolls repeat 3 d20+2 = 22; 3; 3
- DM_TZIVOS: Turn order:
- DM_TZIVOS: Foam imp gets an extra major > You > gloves imp loses a turn > Sandbag imp loses a turn
- DM_TZIVOS: The foam imp dashes (major) 40 feet to get in your face and tries clawing you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 20
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: X2 = 8 damage
- DM_TZIVOS: The foam imp's claws are surprisingly hard, leaving a noticeable cut on your arm
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: You punch it.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 10 turns
- DM_TZIVOS: while foam imp tries imitating and punching you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 2
- DM_TZIVOS: but fails horrendously
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: You punch back.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 11
- DM_TZIVOS: miss
- Brian_Carter: You kick back*
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 23
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6 = 2
- Brian_Carter: End
- DM_TZIVOS: the other two imps finally pick up the slack and run 30 feet toward you, stopping adjacent to each other
- DM_TZIVOS: Foam imp tries kicking you this time
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: but fucks up just as badly as before
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: You KICK it first this time.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 16
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 9
- DM_TZIVOS: the imp explodes into grist
- Brian_Carter: You move 15 feet to the other two.
- DM_TZIVOS: there's gloves-imp and sandbag imp
- Brian_Carter: You use your combo punch to slice at the sandbag imp with your clawfists.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 21
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6 = 6
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 4 #weakness
- Brian_Carter: Winds of Steel activates, giving you an extra major action.
- Brian_Carter: You punch the gloves imp.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 23
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 8
- Brian_Carter: End
- DM_TZIVOS: Both imps rear back from your attack in pain, before the gloves-imp goes in for a punch
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: but fails
- DM_TZIVOS: he follows it with a small kick
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 5
- DM_TZIVOS: and fails yet again
- DM_TZIVOS: sandbag imp tries kicking, too, cuz it looks cool
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 13
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: and it actually manages to hit you in the gut
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: You slice at the sandbag imp again.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 15
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 6
- DM_TZIVOS: he ded, boi
- Brian_Carter: You combo punch the gloves imp
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 16
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: he also ded, boi
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 30 exp
- Brian_Carter: Flurry stance not even necessary
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 54 build grist
- DM_TZIVOS: the path to the building's entrance is now clear
- Brian_Carter: You bandage up that one cut you got from the foam imp. (Short rest)
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d8+3 = 8
- Brian_Carter: back up to 60 health
- Brian_Carter: You proceed towards the building.
- DM_TZIVOS: To the entrance or through the entrance?
- Brian_Carter: To the entrance, duh.
- DM_TZIVOS: Looking through the entrance, you can see an ogre walking around a medium-sized area filled with benches and various open and closed lockers
- DM_TZIVOS: he hasn't noticed you
- Brian_Carter: What kind of ogre are we talking here?
- DM_TZIVOS: It's skin is made out of sandbag materials
- Brian_Carter: Excellent.e jump on it?
- DM_TZIVOS: roll stealth
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+2 = 5
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 9
- Brian_Carter: Nope. I can't.
- DM_TZIVOS: The ogre notices you in the entrance
- Brian_Carter: "Sup."
- DM_TZIVOS: 20 feet between you and the ogre - roll initiative
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+2 = 14
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 6
- DM_TZIVOS: you go first
- Brian_Carter: I run in and slice it.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 10
- DM_TZIVOS: miss
- Brian_Carter: I slice it again
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 22
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6 = 5
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 4 #weakness
- Brian_Carter: End
- Brian_Carter: oh hey
- Brian_Carter: when i miss the first one
- Brian_Carter: i get advantage on the 2nd
- Brian_Carter: cool
- DM_TZIVOS: The ogre rears back from its new gash that's almost leaking sand before trying to punch you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+4 = 11
- Brian_Carter: Miss
- DM_TZIVOS: it tries intimidating you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+4 = 19
- DM_TZIVOS: vs. will or insight check
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20 = 7
- DM_TZIVOS: very scary, much rough-housing, suffer -1 to-hit next turn
- Brian_Carter: ill take the being afraid of a creature whos ass i can totally kick in the next turn
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+5 = 21
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 9
- Brian_Carter: thats a slice
- Brian_Carter: roll that weakness dice
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 2 #weakness
- Brian_Carter: I slice the _totally scary_ thing again
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+5 = 6
- Brian_Carter: Oh i critfail cool
- DM_TZIVOS: You get really into the slicing and dicing, but you trip yourself in the process
- Brian_Carter: You get back up and give the ogre the middle finger.
- Brian_Carter: End
- DM_TZIVOS: The ogre makes a quick assessment of the damage its taken and elects to defend itself
- DM_TZIVOS: while in its defensive stance, it tries kicking you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+4 = 18
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d6 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: and it hits somewhat hard
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: whats the deal with defending exactly
- DM_TZIVOS: it reduces incoming damage by 1d4+1
- Brian_Carter: k
- Brian_Carter: not that itll matter
- Brian_Carter: itll be dead
- Brian_Carter: slice
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 13
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 7
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 4 #weakness
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4+1 = 2 #defend
- DM_TZIVOS: yea he ded boi
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 20 exp
- Brian_Carter: Yeah no shit boi
- Brian_Carter: You patch yourself up again.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d8+3 = 6
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 55 build grist, 20 T1 grist, and 10 T2 grist
- Brian_Carter: What's in this room
- DM_TZIVOS: The room is roughly 20'x20', containing 4 benches extending the length of the room and about 4 dozen lockers, roughly 3/4 of which are opened and empty, and a pair of doors to an elevator on the north end of the room
- Brian_Carter: You check the closed lockers
- DM_TZIVOS: You find some rather complex and large steampunk drills, big enough to dig through and break large amounts of rubble. One is in perfect shape and the other looks well-worn
- DM_TZIVOS: they're not too heavy in your hands
- Brian_Carter: You captchalogue them both.
- Brian_Carter: These will make nice additions to the clawfists.
- Brian_Carter: You check every locker for any secret compartments or walls.
- Brian_Carter: Gotta be thorough.
- DM_TZIVOS: Nothing to be found
- Brian_Carter: :(
- Brian_Carter: Anything else of interest in this room?
- DM_TZIVOS: nothing else
- Brian_Carter: Lame
- DM_TZIVOS: except the previously mentioned elevator
- Brian_Carter: You head to the elevator, and check out the buttons.
- DM_TZIVOS: The elevator has four semi-large buttons, two for going up slow or fast, and two for going down slow or fast
- Brian_Carter: You head up, slowly.
- DM_TZIVOS: The elevator can't go up because you're at ground level
- Brian_Carter: There's nothing further up?
- DM_TZIVOS: nope
- Brian_Carter: Welp, you go down.
- Brian_Carter: Slowly/.
- DM_TZIVOS: It takes a minute, but the elevator eventually descends and reaches a large mined-out room, which must be the first area of the mine, according to common sense
- Brian_Carter: Excellent. You head in.
- DM_TZIVOS: inside this room are three ogres
- Brian_Carter: Oh, well. Okay
- DM_TZIVOS: two of which are vacantly staring at a wall with a shiny mineral deposit
- DM_TZIVOS: one of which is mumbling into an opening on the northern side of the room
- DM_TZIVOS: the two staring at the wall are made out of foam and the one mumbling into the opening is a sandbag
- Brian_Carter: You attempt to sneak in again
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+2 = 19
- DM_TZIVOS rolls repeat 3 d20 = 16; 14; 13
- DM_TZIVOS: you're unnoticed by every ogre
- Brian_Carter: So If I attack one, is it advantage
- DM_TZIVOS: yes
- Brian_Carter: You sneak past the two foam ogres, and Slice the back of the Sangbag ogre.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 12
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 19
- Brian_Carter: Advantage
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 8
- Brian_Carter: and do i still get my combo
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 2 #weakness
- DM_TZIVOS: ehh yea
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 21
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 2 #weakness
- DM_TZIVOS: you leave two big gashes on the sandbag ogre's back, neither one deep enough to leak sand, but almost reaching that point
- DM_TZIVOS: all three ogres hear the noise and turn around to face you.
- DM_TZIVOS: you're in front of the sandbag ogre, and the foam ogres are 10 feet to your right - roll initiative
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+2 = 15
- DM_TZIVOS rolls repeat 3 d20 = 1; 12; 3
- DM_TZIVOS: turn order:
- DM_TZIVOS: you > foam ogre 2 > sandbag ogre > foam ogre 1 loses a turn
- Brian_Carter: You slice this pathetic ogre again.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 21
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 7
- Brian_Carter: the sandbag one.
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 4 #weakness
- DM_TZIVOS: the ogre explodes into grist
- Brian_Carter: You go into Flurry Stance, and Rush in to punch the Ogre that actually looks ready to fight.
- Brian_Carter: (Winds of Steel for another major)
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 26
- DM_TZIVOS: CRIT
- Brian_Carter rolls repeat 2 1d3+3 = 6; 4
- DM_TZIVOS: that'd be 10x2 = 20
- DM_TZIVOS: foam ogre 2 did indeed die
- Brian_Carter: oh ok
- Brian_Carter: Well
- Brian_Carter: End
- Brian_Carter: now its my tunr again
- Brian_Carter: I attack the other one
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 15
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls repeat 2 1d3+3 = 6; 4
- Brian_Carter: there i did it
- Brian_Carter: wow
- DM_TZIVOS: 10 total
- Brian_Carter: amazing
- DM_TZIVOS: very good job
- Brian_Carter: I punch it again
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 20
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls repeat 2 1d3 = 1; 2
- Brian_Carter: End
- DM_TZIVOS: You land a series of powerful blows to the ogre, but it's still standing
- DM_TZIVOS: it finally realizes what's happening and tries punching you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+4 = 5
- Brian_Carter: Yeah, right.
- DM_TZIVOS: but fucks up so hard it punches the shiny mineral deposit
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 3
- DM_TZIVOS: and hits a sharp protruding piece mineral
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: This thing is an idiot.
- Brian_Carter: You punch it.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 17
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls repeat 2 1d3+3 = 6; 6
- DM_TZIVOS: the ogre explodes into more grist
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 60 exp
- Brian_Carter: Didn't even take damage.
- Brian_Carter: levelup
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d8+3 = 9
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 159 build grist, 48 T1 grist, and 23 T2 grist
- DM_TZIVOS: The immediate area is now free of monsters
- Brian_Carter: You check out this sweet mineral deposit these ogres were so enamored by.
- DM_TZIVOS: They're shiny minerals
- DM_TZIVOS: taking up space on the wall slightly taller and bigger than you
- Brian_Carter: You attempt using the slightly used drill to extract the minerals.
- DM_TZIVOS: The drill goes to work on the section of wall with the mineral deposit, and within a minute the section of wall collapses, the well-worn drill breaks down into pieces, and the mineral deposit falls to the ground amidst the rubble
- DM_TZIVOS: there's a passage opened up now
- Brian_Carter: And in we go.
- DM_TZIVOS: it's pretty claustrophobic, but you quickly reach a small mined-out room with a crow skeleton, a bunch of rubble everywhere, and a dead-looking hammer-tool in the skeleton's hands
- DM_TZIVOS: the hammer-tool looks surprisingly advanced
- Brian_Carter: Define
- Brian_Carter: "Advanced"
- DM_TZIVOS: like a handheld jackhammer with arm supports and shock-absorbers
- Brian_Carter: Oh excellent.
- Brian_Carter: You captchalogue this bitch.
- DM_TZIVOS: nothing much else here except for a skeleton and lots of rubble
- Brian_Carter: and also the Crow Skeleton
- DM_TZIVOS: alrighty then, you kleptomaniac
- Brian_Carter: And you move around the rubble to look for anything else that's pretty cool
- DM_TZIVOS: nope, nothing, zilch, nada
- DM_TZIVOS: just rubble from what looks like a small cave-in a long-ass time ago
- Brian_Carter: You head to the other passageway the sandbag ogre was looking into
- DM_TZIVOS: you hear some distant grumbling as soon as you enter
- Brian_Carter: Oh baby.
- Brian_Carter: This is the fun stuff right here.
- Brian_Carter: You look in.
- DM_TZIVOS: it's pretty dark, too dark to see any of those ink-black underlings from here, but if you got closer...
- Brian_Carter: You pull out your cellphone and shine it's flashlight in the room/.
- Brian_Carter: Who needs stealth
- DM_TZIVOS: the passageway is mildly illuminated for about 15 feet before you see it turning to the west
- DM_TZIVOS: no monsters yet
- DM_TZIVOS: but
- DM_TZIVOS: the grumbling abruptly stops and starts again, coming closer
- Brian_Carter: You wait.
- DM_TZIVOS: very soon, 2 imps come into your field of view, surprised that you're the source of light
- DM_TZIVOS: the imps are both 10 feet away from you - roll initiative
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+2 = 3
- Brian_Carter: hahahahahahahhahahahaha
- Brian_Carter: kill me
- DM_TZIVOS rolls repeat 2 d20+2 = 12; 3
- DM_TZIVOS: hahahahahahahah kill the imp
- DM_TZIVOS: turn order:
- DM_TZIVOS: gloves-imp > You lose a turn > gas-can imp loses a turn
- DM_TZIVOS: the first of the two imp, wearing gloves, goes in to try and kick you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 13
- Brian_Carter: hit
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: and follows it with a jab
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20 = 17
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 2
- DM_TZIVOS: then you and the other imp lose your turns
- DM_TZIVOS: and gloves-imp goes for the wombo combo
- DM_TZIVOS rolls repeat 2 d20 = 16; 14
- DM_TZIVOS rolls repeat 2 d4 = 1; 4
- DM_TZIVOS: and lands a moderately successful wombo combo
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: this imp has done infinitely better than anything before it.
- Brian_Carter: You wombo combo back at it.
- Brian_Carter rolls repeat 2 1d20+6 = 10; 7
- DM_TZIVOS: you miss once and punch the wall of the passage
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4 = 3
- DM_TZIVOS: take 3 damage
- Brian_Carter: FUCK YOU ROLZ
- Brian_Carter: Fuck you.
- Brian_Carter: Udo Schroeter.
- Brian_Carter: Fuck you.
- DM_TZIVOS: I'll take that as end turn
- Brian_Carter: Yes.
- DM_TZIVOS: gas-can imp squeezes next to its buddy and tries imitating it by punching you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+1 = 14
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4+1 = 3
- DM_TZIVOS: and manages to land a hit
- DM_TZIVOS: gloves-imp goes in for just a kick this time, feeling pretty cocky
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+1 = 21
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d4+1 = 3
- DM_TZIVOS: that's a 3 x 2 = 6 damage
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: whatever
- Brian_Carter: punch i guess on the gloved fucker
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 20
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 10
- Brian_Carter: Another punch on the gloved fucker
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 20
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6 = 5
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- DM_TZIVOS: and he's dead
- Brian_Carter: "Yeah fuck you."
- Brian_Carter: Punch on the other fucker.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 22
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d6+5 = 10
- Brian_Carter: "Yeah fuck you too."
- DM_TZIVOS: they both dead
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 20 exp
- DM_TZIVOS: gain 36 build grist and 6 T1 grist
- DM_TZIVOS: the rest of the passage is now open
- Brian_Carter rolls repeat 3 1d8+3 = 8; 6; 10
- Brian_Carter: You patch yourself up.
- Brian_Carter: Full health again.
- Brian_Carter: You head to the corner and peek down the west passage.
- DM_TZIVOS: the rest of the passage is clear, and at the end you see a discarded mining drill sitting in front of a "block" of rubble
- Brian_Carter: define
- Brian_Carter: " "block" "
- DM_TZIVOS: a block of rubble is an immovable pile of rubble or large piece of rubble that is 10x10x10
- Brian_Carter: I search the room for anything funky
- Brian_Carter: or offputting
- Brian_Carter: cause I don't trust this room
- DM_TZIVOS: there's the drill, but nothing else sticks out
- DM_TZIVOS: it's in pristine condition
- Brian_Carter: You captchalogue the drill
- Brian_Carter: and use your special awesome hammer to rektify the rubble
- DM_TZIVOS: The hammer-tool does nothing because being dead-looking usually means it's dead outta power
- Brian_Carter: oh was it dead looking
- DM_TZIVOS: which in this case, it is
- Brian_Carter: Well, since you now have two drills
- Brian_Carter: you use one of them to drill this out.
- DM_TZIVOS: the drill destroys the rubble quickly, and a small bar on a display on the side of the tool disappears, leaving 9 more
- DM_TZIVOS: The rubble crumbles to the floor and you're greeted by a large room with a winding S-path leading up to another entrance to a passage at the top. There are 7 blocks of rubble total on the S-path, and various blocks of rubble situated next to and in between the S-path's curves
- Brian_Carter: You look at the captchalogue card of the drill that still has been unused.
- Brian_Carter: You flip it upside down and check out the code on it.
- Brian_Carter: You programmed the game, you know how alchemy works.
- DM_TZIVOS: you now know the code to the drills
- Brian_Carter: Perfect. You can make more when you head home.
- Brian_Carter: You examine the room.
- DM_TZIVOS: The S-path is about 5 feet wide, and the top of the path looks to be about 30-40 feet up. There are roughly seven blocks of rubble next to and in between the path's upward-sloping curves, a group of three in front of the lower section of the path, and a group of four in front of the middle section of the path. There are two to three extra blocks of rubble stacked on top of these piles, one of the lower pile and two on the upper pile
- DM_TZIVOS: There's another mineral deposit on an elevated position in the southern wall, right next to a turn in the S-path
- Brian_Carter: You head towards the mineral deposit I guess
- Brian_Carter: You proceed on the path, until you get to some shit
- DM_TZIVOS: you run into a block of rubble a few feet after starting on the path
- Brian_Carter: you climb over the shit
- DM_TZIVOS: roll athletics
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 16
- DM_TZIVOS: you make it over the first block of rubble, walking until you reach another one a few feet further where the path begins to slope upwards
- Brian_Carter: You climb over that one as well
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 22
- DM_TZIVOS: that you do
- Brian_Carter: You climb over the next one too
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 9
- Brian_Carter: no fuck that roll you try climbing it again
- DM_TZIVOS: and a few feet further, as the slope gets steeper, you reach another block, but fail to climb it
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 13
- DM_TZIVOS: after a second attempt, you make it over
- Brian_Carter: The next one has the mineral deposit next to it
- Brian_Carter: so you climb on top of it
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 16
- Brian_Carter: and then drill out the mineral deposit
- DM_TZIVOS: the mineral deposit is in the southern wall of the room you're in, 5 feet off the left of the first turn in the path
- DM_TZIVOS: and you basically reach it without an issue
- DM_TZIVOS: the mineral deposit crumbles away after a minute of drilling, and five bars disappear as a small passage opens
- Brian_Carter: 5?
- Brian_Carter: god damn dude
- Brian_Carter: 4 uses left
- DM_TZIVOS: these are some hard minerals
- Brian_Carter: Whatever
- Brian_Carter: you go in
- DM_TZIVOS: You make the small hop to the passage and walk through another claustrophobic place before reaching another small room. Rubble is everywhere here, too, accompanied by a crow skeleton holding another drill in one hand and a rather clear and valuable-looking raw gem in the other hand
- DM_TZIVOS: It looks slightly used
- Brian_Carter: You captchalogue the Drill, the Gem, and the Corpse.
- DM_TZIVOS: ==>
- Brian_Carter: You inspect the gem further.
- DM_TZIVOS: It's very rough, but it shines brightly, even in the relatively dark room, and looks very durable
- Brian_Carter: What kind of gem is it?
- DM_TZIVOS: Who knows? You certainly don't
- Brian_Carter: Whatever
- Brian_Carter: cool
- Brian_Carter: you proceed back into the stupid confusing path that is actually really fucking simple
- DM_TZIVOS: another block stands in your way after the path turns and gets steeper, the ceiling quickly closing in
- DM_TZIVOS: you can climb over this one
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 7
- Brian_Carter: No fuck that you try again
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 20
- DM_TZIVOS: You manage to squeeze yourself over the block before the ceiling basically closes in on the rest of the blocks and path
- DM_TZIVOS: no more climbing, it seems
- Brian_Carter: Well fuck this
- Brian_Carter: You try climbing anyways
- Brian_Carter: because screw the rules
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 23
- DM_TZIVOS: you hit your head on the room's ceiling as you try climbing the next block
- Brian_Carter: You try again
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 21
- Brian_Carter: and again
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 14
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 16
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 11
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 25
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 10

- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 9
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 21
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 18
- DM_TZIVOS: you eventually have the genius idea to climb around the block
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 25
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 14
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 12
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 7

- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 7
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 14
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 22
- Brian_Carter: We're going over it.
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 16
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 13
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 19
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 14

- Brian_Carter: First try.
- DM_TZIVOS: you're basically just rubbing your head against the ceiling this entire time until you decide that if you can't go over, you can go around
- DM_TZIVOS: and you make it to the last block, which is in front of the exit
- Brian_Carter: you drill through it
- Brian_Carter: (Middle finger emoji)
- DM_TZIVOS: You use the drill with 4 charges, breaking through the rubble and opening up the passage. 3 charges remain on this drill
- Brian_Carter: You go through the passageway to whatever bullshit lies ahead
- DM_TZIVOS: Walking through the passage, you hear mumbling and loud grumbling coming from the end
- Brian_Carter: You shine your light at it.
- DM_TZIVOS: You grab the attention of a foam ogre, foam imp, and a gloves-imp
- Brian_Carter: Wow this is kinda underwhelming.
- DM_TZIVOS: there's 10 feet between you and the foam ogre, and the passage is 10 feet wide - roll initiative

- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+4 = 19
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d6+3 = 4
- DM_TZIVOS: it lands a mild hit
- DM_TZIVOS: it tries using the fact that it's hogging all this space to intimidate you
- DM_TZIVOS rolls d20+4 = 13
- DM_TZIVOS: vs. Will or insight check
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20 = 20
- DM_TZIVOS: You're not intimidated at all, and in fact, you turn the intimidation right back at the ogre. It suffers a -1 to-hit next turn
- DM_TZIVOS: The two imps behind the ogre can't see what's happening or get in on the action at all cuz the ogre is a fatass who took up all the space in the passage
- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: You just sort of shrug at it.
- Brian_Carter: "Was kinda hoping to fight something more... fun?"
- Brian_Carter: "Ah, whatever."
- Brian_Carter: You go flurry stance.
- Brian_Carter: And punch it
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 7

- DM_TZIVOS: your turn
- Brian_Carter: You head up to it and punch it
- Brian_Carter rolls 1d20+6 = 16
- DM_TZIVOS: hit
- Brian_Carter rolls repeat 2 1d3+4 = 7; 7
- DM_TZIVOS: it also pops into grist

- ==GEAR SHIFT! KIWI MODE ACTIVATE==
- Brian_Carter
- Alrighty. I proceed to the west towards the exit.
- @DM_TZIVOS
- You make your way into the next area of this increasingly cavernous area, and you're confronted by a wall of rubble, 3 blocks wide and 3 blocks high, extending for 30 feet from your left to your right then stopping abruptly
- Brian_Carter
- What's at the abrupt stop
- @DM_TZIVOS
- going over to the end of the wall of rubble, you see a moderately open area that continues to the southwest before you run into another 3 block-high/wide wall of rubble that bends in on itself and the previous wall of rubble
- Brian_Carter
- So, i'm completely blocked off.
- @DM_TZIVOS
- for now, yes
- Brian_Carter
- You pick a random patch of rubble, and start drilling through it with the one you've been using.
- @DM_TZIVOS
- You drill through one of the blocks of rubble for a few seconds before it crumbles, the two blocks of rubble on top of it falling down into its place.
- 2 charges remain
- Brian_Carter
- You drill once more.
- @DM_TZIVOS
- the block breaks after a few seconds and the block on top falls down. 1 charge left on this drill
- Brian_Carter
- You climb on top of this block.
- @DM_TZIVOS
- standing on top of the block, you run into another block directly in front of you
- Brian_Carter
- You drill through that one
- @DM_TZIVOS
- The drill breaks along with the block of rubble, and you can see into a small clearing containing a strange lizard creature accompanied by another imp
- @DM_TZIVOS
- The lizard-monster looks like a combination of foam and metal, while the imp looks like a sandbag
- they notice you as soon as the block crumbles
- roll initiative
- Brian_Carter
- "Finally."

- Brian_Carter
- Wonderful, more passageways.
- How deep does this floor go?
- You proceed.
- @DM_TZIVOS
- The passage slopes down -very- steeply for roughly 45 feet until you reach a massive cavernous area
- You're standing at the top of a large, winding pathway which curves around the walls of the cavern until eventually stopping 60 feet down in the center of the cavern, where you can see a massive uncoiled piece of large, but comparatively thin untarnished metal with various bumps and grooves in its flat sides
- to be clear, the path winds for a long-ass distance
- the vertical distance to the bottom of the cavern is 60 feet
- Brian_Carter
- You briefly patch yourself up a bit and head down.
- @DM_TZIVOS
- As you walk for a minute or so, you make it roughly 3/4 of the way down the path until you spot two foam imps riding a foam basilisk and a foam/metal basilisk
- Brian_Carter
- Nice.
