  1. Prompt: #20 Tread
  2.
  3. Hilda/Lysithea
  4.
  5.
  6. -
  7.
  8. “It’s strange that we find ourselves back from work and happened to visit the same coffee shop at the same time.”
  9.
  10. Hilda continued to babble, in which Lysithea responded with a hum as she progressed to enjoy her drink. It was nice, luscious cappuccino with a lot of marshmallows, chocolate toppings and vanilla syrup, her personal favorite every time she and Hilda went to this particular coffee shop during their day off. The barista even acknowledged them with first names because of their visiting frequency, Lysithea didn’t mind as they are getting a little discount sometimes.
  11.
  12. Back to the moment of coincidences: Hilda is right. Lysithea was a bit bummed at work earlier because she had to teach bunch of newcomers the ropes, thinking that a sugar rush at least her should be destination to wrap up the day. Whilst Hilda, she needed caffeine to rush past her deadlines later at night, so she ordered triple shots espresso – in which Lysithea looked at the black liquid in Hilda’s cup with a cringe.
  13.
  14. They happened to walk there by the reason of work, in almost the same time, ordering about in unison and occupied their favorite spot at the right momentum; perhaps a miracle is in the making, but Lysithea didn’t really pay attention to details. She watched by the sidelines that Hilda is making all the happy faces as she talked, and how everything is simply worth it.
  15.
  16. “How about you accompany me to the night later, then? You’re having a day off tomorrow, right?”
  17.
  18. There was a hopeful twinkle on her pink eyes, almost glittering. Lysithea squawked at the sudden pleading eyes. It’s one of Hilda’s Secret Weapon. Plus with how Hilda pressed close to Lysithea so their shoulders are touching.
  19.
  20. “I want to get my beautiful sleep. I’m so tired today.”
  21.
  22. Lysithea managed after some while. Hilda pouted at the response right away, hands folding on the table as she straightened up, attempting to look menacing—though the snow-haired woman understand that Hilda herself knew she failed to do so.
  23.
  24. “This is the first time I’ve heard ‘beauty sleep’ came from your mouth, as someone who’ll pull all-nighter to finish a novel that she wanted to read.”
  25.
  26. “That’s! That’s beside the point!” Lysithea launched. “You’re working, right? My presence would only be a hindrance.”
  27.
  28. Hilda flashed a grin, “Oh, so you are in a mood, huh. No wonder you don’t want to keep me up with the work all night.”
  29.
  30. She finished with suggestive tone. Lysithea went a few shades redder.
  31.
  32. “Hey, I’m not—“
  33.
  34. “It’s okay, Lys~ I know you don’t want to be a bother, I’m just kidding~” The pinkette laughed at how embarrassed Lysithea has become, flustered and fuming. Just when Lysithea about to sigh and focus back to her beverages, Hilda perked up slightly to whisper on her ear.
  35.
  36. “… Though, I don’t mind of any distraction, especially from you.”
  37.
  38. “Hilda.”
  39.
  40. Oh, how Lysithea wanted to smack some sense to her lover right there right now—while she is not entirely wrong per se. After all, it is their life - the path they have been tread for some years that they come to get used with each other’s habits and wandering eyes.
