- - Gustavo and Brick have two states: paired and separated
- - While paired, they function as one entity. They have a large hurtbox, but are rather heavy
- - While separated, Gustavo functions as the main fighter. He's small, but much lighter while alone, and his solo attacks are not as effective. You're generally encouraged to keep them together
- - Unlike in Pizza Tower, Brick will not automatically return to Gustavo after being separated. He will sit in place in the background, unable to be attacked or otherwise interacted with by opponents
- - Gustavo will pair back up with Brick when he comes into contact with him while NOT in hitstun. There is no lag involved with pairing back up, but any attack animations Gustavo was in the middle of will be cancelled, which could potentially be used for wacky stuff
- - If Gustavo falls off the stage, he's gone for the rest of that stock. You should have taken better care of him >:(
- Neutral Special: Brick Kick
- - Gustavo quickly hops off Brick and kicks him, sending him rolling forward as a projectile
- - Brick travels about as far as Banjo-Kazooie's Wonderwing dash travels, and goes pretty fast, though he does slow down around the end of his max distance
- - The attack is strongest during the first half of the trip, dealing 21% damage and heft diagonal upwards knockback that kills around the 90% range
- - The "sourspot" hitbox kicks in after Brick has travelled half his max distance, dealing "only" 13% damage and knockback that can kill around 130%
- - Brick will obey gravity while rolling, falling at a steep angle if he happens to go off the edge of a platform
- - This is the duo's strongest option in terms of raw killing power, and it has pretty quick startup for what it is. Brick is also a scarily large projectile, about the size of King Dedede
- - The move's range is both of its strengths and its main drawback: it's easy to send Brick over the edge of the stage with how far he goes, and of you do you're gimped for the rest of your stock
- - Tentative idea: "light" and "heavy" versions of this move that send Brick different distances. Light version goes slower and doesn't hit as hard, but is less likely to make Brick go offstage
- - Obviously this move is unusable while separated, with Gustavo just doing a shrug animation if it's input when he's alone
- Up Special: Brick the Blimp
- - Brick inflates himself, just like a balloon
- - Based on how Gustavo and Brick interact with the rat balloons from the Pig City level in PT
- - Startup has Brick suck in air, before exhaling it all in a burst that launches the duo into the air about the height of Sonic's Spring Jump
- - This essentially functions as a third jump with a longish startup. You can act after the ending lag is over (which happens after they've travelled about 2/3s the full distance)
- - They have a hitbox while rising, but it's weak and has low priority
- - Maybe make it so you can angle it to launch at a diagonal?
- - If Gustavo is alone, you can't recover, nice job bozo
- Down(?) Special: Cheesed to Meet You
- - If used while separated, Gustavo pulls out a wedge of cheese and holds it up into the air for as long as the button is held
- - The cheese will entice Brick if he's within a certain radius, causing him to make a beeline for Gustavo
- - Brick has a hitbox during his charge, dealing 7% and knockback in the direction he's moving. It doesn't scale all too well, only killing around 180%
- - Obviously used for getting Brick back to Gustavo without having to grab him manually, but could also potentially be used for setups
- - Not too sure what this would do while paired up. Maybe have Gustavo hold up some cheese on a string in front of Brick, sending him charging forward as a command dash?
- Up Air: Amazing Flying Gustavo
- - Brick hunches up, launching Gustavo upward off his back
- - Sends Gustavo (who is curled into a ball) up about the height of platform, smacking anyone in his way for decent damage
- - Knockback scales higher than that of the average juggling up air, could potentially get some early kills off the top
- - Separates Gustavo from Brick, but Brick will usually be right below you anyway
- - Yes, you can use this to pull a "Yoshi Jump" to recover while sacrificing Brick, if you're a monster
- Down Tilt: Super Gustavo Bowling
- - Brick rolls Gustavo like a bowling ball, sending him forward in an inverse of the Neutral Special
- - Potentially puts Gustavo in a more vulnerable position, have to find some way to make this enticing to use despite this
- Down Smash: Roto-Rodent
- - Spins Brick around by the tail, like Mario does with Bowser in SM64
- Jab: Bite 'n' Bash
- - A bite from Brick, followed by a punch from Gustavo
- - Gustavo leans forward and his fist enlarges cartoonishly to give this usable range
- - While separated it's just the punch
- Down Air: Cannonball
- - A stall-and-fall based on their double jump from the game
- - Gustavo and Brick curl up into balls and fall down, bouncing off anyone they hit along the way
- - There's a little bit of height gained on the startup
- - Coming into contact with a wall during the move causes them to automatically wall jump?
- - While separated, Gustavo just does his stomp attack from PT
- - Actually starts up a bit faster, but lacks the bounce properties
