Shura: In fact, I used to have a lotta trouble with knives and forks!

Shura: Yep. Nohrians use about a billion different kinds, and half of them are too blunt to cut anything!
Shura: [smile, sweat] I mean, the kinda food I grew up eating was mostly with your hands, anyway.
Kana: [surprised] I thought Kohga used chopsticks like Hoshido.
Shura: We did. But when in Nohr, eat like a Nohrian.
Shura: The food you get on the street and at market is the kind you hold in your hands.
Shura: And for fancier stuff, they use knives and forks like Avatar.
Kana: [smile, closed eyes] So you’re basically a food utensil genius!
Shura: [sweat] I dunno if that qualifies as a kind of genius…
Kana: Teach me to use chopsticks? Pleaaaase?
Shura: [smile] Sure thing, on one condition.
Kana: [surprised] What’s that?
Shura: Eat your peas. All of ‘em.

Shura: We’re gonna use this rice for now. I made it stickier than normal, so it’s no good for eating, but it should make practicing easier.

Shura: The problem’s your grip. Here, just let me tie this around…
Shura: There you go. This’ll help keep your grip sturdy.
Kana: [surprised] Whoa, that does help!
Kana: [smile, closed eyes] You’re so smart, Papa!

Kana: [surprised] Is this how you learnt back when you were little?
Shura: Sure is. My mother taught me when I was little.
Shura: Took me forever to pick up on it.
Kana: [smile] Hey, Papa… I’ve never seen you smile like that before when you talk about the past.

Kana: [neutral] Well, I know you lost so much when you were little, and it usually makes you sad talking about it, so I try not to.
Kana: [smile] But just then, you… you looked really happy.
Shura: [smile] Sharp as usual, Kana.
Shura: Part of it’s that those memories aren’t tainted by what came after. I was so small, I can’t even place when it happened, how soon before the fall…
Shura: Mostly it’s thanks to you and Avatar, though.
Kana: [surprised] Really?
Shura: Yep. I used to feel guilty when I was a kid, that I lived and my parents didn’t.
Shura: But now, having you… I know how my folks must’ve felt. I know they’d be glad that I made it.
Kana: [sad] Papa…
Shura: [smile] Hey, no long face! I’m not planning on going anywhere.
Kana: [smile] Good! ‘cause you’re gonna be stuck with me for a looong time!

Shura: [smile] Don’t you worry about me, Kana. You got a right to know about your heritage, however it makes me feel.
Shura: Besides, with someone like you as Kohga’s future, I think we’re gonna be just fine.
Shura: So, what do you wanna know first?
Kana: [smile] Hmmm…. What do kids do for fun? What kinda games did you play?
Shura: [smile, closed eyes] Well, hide and seek was pretty popular, us being ninja and all…
