Even if you never heard about them, you can guess that the Geissens are a wealthy family; but why? Well, they are like the Kim K of Germany, as they have their own reality TV show called ‘A Terribly Glamorous family’. Robert Geiss is the father of the family, and he is known as a German businessman together with being the popular face of German TV. For those who like to watch wealthy families bicker about things that are not important, while they pretend to care in their expensive jets, then this shows is the best for you.
At the beginning of his teen years, Robert Geiss was not that fond of school, as he stated “I do not need school to make money, especially if I have to sit in it every day”, which shook his parents and did not stop him from achieving his dream, which was wealth. They are currently known as a terribly glamorous family, and it only takes one look to know why that is. However, as you have guessed, he was not just born wealthy, he earned his riches in his own way.
The beginning of his money-craving career began when he bought a pair of designer trunks that he loved so much, that he decided to go back to Germany and make a similar pair. His company was handled by him and his brother, and the brand was named Uncle Sam, while the target audience were body builders. They had a very successful run, but after a while, they decided to sell the brand, and keep the money for themselves, even though in later years, his brother bought the brand back. Currently, Robert Geiss earns his riches in a different way, as he has nothing to do with the brand anymore.
For some reason, the Geissens family has caught the eyes of everyone, which is why starring in their own show is what brings them their riches. But, while that is a reality TV show, who knows how much of that is actually true, especially since they can cover up pretty much anything. Thus far, there were no scandalous acts that happened, which just means that they might not be as truthful as they claim. The show consists of the Geiss family leading their everyday life and having their everyday drama fallouts.
The public has fallen in love with this Terribly glamorous family, probably because on some richer level, they are quite relatable. They fight about the littlest things, just like a real family, which makes everything seem real, but still a bit suspicious. Nevertheless, Robert Geiss and his wife had claimed many times that they have nothing to hide from the public, which is exactly why everything that is shown on their TV show is real. All the fights, the bickering, slamming doors, breaking glasses, all of that was real and nothing was staged. Now, is that believable, well… that is totally up to the viewers.
