- We're on a mission to unfuck employees. Employees in America struggle with cashflow and debt on a daily basis. Debt traps are easy to get into and hard to get out of, and employees are often one flat tire away from a cashflow crisis. Good employers often want to help, but don’t know how to really make a difference.
- Enter Palolo. We’re building financial solutions that enable employers to scale up their good intentions with employees, and that enable employees to access high quality banking and credit products they wouldn’t be able to access otherwise. Ultimately, we’re building a robust network of Palolo-powered employers that fundamentally changes the financial game for millions of employees–for the better.
- We’re not building just another bank. We won’t offer the same solutions traditional banks offer because they don’t really solve the debt problem–and they often make things worse. Overdraft fees? We’re over it. 400% APR payday loans? Criminal. You get the idea.
- Instead, we work closely with employers to come up with more creative products that unfuck employees. Products that pay employees for work done on demand. Ridiculously low rate credit card refinancing to make escaping debt truly doable. Daily earned wages for employees who want it. Incredibly easy and affordable short-term loans. Basically, financial leverage to get back on track.

- About the role
- We are hiring software engineers to build the MVP. They will greenfield our web application with a focus on user experience and security. They will:
- Build our first product!
- Break down complex problems into engineering deliverables.
- Develop engineering best practices and systems, including security (we manage people’s money so this is really important).
- Collaborate with infrastructure and mobile to build robust systems, troubleshoot incidents, and scale reliably.
- Partner with product and design on prioritization and feature decisions.
- About you
- You are generalist who has professional experience with:
- Developing software on a team with product management and design
- Modern best practices for either frontend or backend development (or both—we see you, full stack devs!)
- JavaScript/TypeScript and React
- Troubleshooting/debugging, unit and integration testing, and taking responsibility for your own QA
- Fintech security experience is a bonus!
- You will be a great fit for Palolo if you:

- Have strong communication skills (documentation is really important to us)
