Tree of Doom Part 2

<ZhenJun>: LAST TIME ON THE BROTHERHOOD
<ZhenJun>: Reverb, Janet, and Jonas went out into the amazon rainforest in search of an assault party headed for Zhen Jun's encampment

Jonas and Janet are holding hands as they search for the assault party
<ZhenJun>: As they step out into the forest, the sounds of life from the dark rainforest floor to the canopy ring throughout your ears
<Reverb>: "The shroom have any clue where the assault party was heading from?"
<Jonas>: "Should be coming from the East."
<Janet>: "Easy enough to track, yes?"
<Reverb>: "Yeah, easy enough. Try to keep up." she says, walking ahead of the pair.

Janet and Jonas exchange smiles
<Jonas>: "Yes, yes. Keeping together will be important."
<Janet>: "Stay as group, destroy hostile forces."
Jonas and Janet begin heading East

<ZhenJun>: They hear a rustling, all around them
<ZhenJun>: its hard to tell from where, as it is a rainforest. shadows move just out of sight

<Reverb>: "Alright, eyes peeled, every sound should be setting off alarms."
Jonas and Janet motion their mouths to silence, looking wither displeased with Reverb's talking.
Janet motions for the group to stick together and move forward
Jonas nods and the two begin silently advancing onward

Reverb keeps her pace, ahead of the pair. Less she sees of them the better, quite honestly/
<ZhenJun>: They hear a loud cooing, like that of a monkey. Bestial sounds continue to fill the air, making detection of anything incredibly hard. Birds fly above, cawing
Janet and Jonas seem more than willing to let Reverb handle everything first as they move on through the animal sounds

<ZhenJun>: As Reverb goes ahead, something grabs at her leg
Reverb spins around, slashing at the leg with a shard of crystal.
<ZhenJun>: T'was but a simple vine
<ZhenJun>: How it caught around your leg is beyond you, though

Jonas and Janet catch up to Reverb, dropping their voices to almost inaudible lvels
<Jonas>: "You stay in the middle."
<Janet>: "Safer for new recruit."
<Reverb>: "I'm fine, I've been watching my back for years now."
<Jonas>: "And now the Brotherhood watches it for you."

Jonas takes the lead, and Janet takes the back
<Reverb>: "I don't need a second set of eyes.
Jonas looks back to raise a finger to his lips again. Silence.

<ZhenJun>: Vines shoot out and lash themselves around Jonas, pulling him smacking into a tree. At the same instant, the branches above them seem to bend, sweeping down to hit the other two
Reverb crouches, surrounding herself in crystal.
Jonas reactively starts emitting smoke as he is flung into the tree, a smokescreen forming as he hits it
Janet ducks and creates a large porcupine-esque set of toxic quills around herself

<ZhenJun>: The branches ding off of reverb's crystal and janet's quills, cracking and breaking. The roots below reverb try to tangle up and drag her into the ground
<ZhenJun>: The vines try constricting Jonas

Reverb slashes at the roots, slowly building up a platform of sorts to hold them off.
Janet shoots toxic quills at the ranches constricting Jonas. Whatever toxin it is, it's fast-acting and mildly acidic

<ZhenJun>: The vines are corroded away by the poison, Jonas is free. Reverb is able to escape the roots. One of the trees seems to snap in half at the bottom, dropping to smash down on them
Jonas jets out, propelled by a stream of smoke, pushing Reverb and Janet out of the way
<ZhenJun>: The tree falls down harmlessly, the three getting out of the way

<Jonas>: "Not good. Trees need no eyes."
<Janet>: "I lead now."
<Reverb>: "Whatever."
Janet and Jonas take their previous formation to move onward with Reverb, this time with Janet taking the front and Jonas behind

<ZhenJun>: Then, from where the tree fell, spiders. A ton of spiders, each as big as your hand, come crawling out. After the three
Jonas releases a huge smokescreen. To the untrained eye, everything just went dark gray. Reverb can feel herself whisked off to the edge by Jonas, to avoid asphyxiation
Janet releases a large burst of poison in all directions, to fend off the spiders

<ZhenJun>: The spiders are lost in the smokescreen, unable to find them. They are being pelted with the poison, and begin turning back. From above, in one of the trees, an energy beam shoots to hit Reverb off guard
<ZhenJun>: It seems like a well coordinated ambush
Reverb blocks the shot with a slab of crystal, tossing it in the direction of the shooter.

<ZhenJun>: The energy beam hits a tree, setting it alight. Two figures jump down, ahead of you, both of them in camouflage to cover their identities
<Jonas>: "Surrender or perish."
<Janet>: "Only one warning."

<ZhenJun>: One of the figures shoots forward another energy beam at Janet. The second jumps, propelled by a wooden slab pushing him upward, as he lunges at Jonas. From behind, someone else grabs at Reverb, their touch feels like its training your very soul out just from a poke

Jonas releases a puff of smoke. When the assailant reaches it, Jonas is already gone.
Janet quickly spins and releases a small poison needle at Reverb's attacker
<Janet>: "The dirt will lie with the dirt."
Reverb reaches behind her, tossing her attacker over her shoulder.

<ZhenJun>: The attacker is thrown onto the ground, the two needles shoot into his side and begin poisoning him. He still leaps up, attempting to grab Reverb's face with his deathly grip
Reverb responds by punching the man in the face.
Jonas drops down behind the laser-happy attacker, attempting to snap his neck

<ZhenJun>: The man falls back, succumbing to the poison. The laser man spins around, and out of his coat a miasma of spiders shoot out at Jonas. The plant assailant has dissipated once more
Reverb throws shards at the laser man.
Janet begins drenching poison onto everything in her surroundings. All plant life seems to be decaying immediately.
Jonas pushes away the spiders with a powerful puff of smoke, still going for his neck.

<ZhenJun>: The shards stab into his back, leaving him open to the neck snap that Jonas has in mind
<ZhenJun>: As the plants dissipate, the plant man jumps out of the undergrowth, grabbing reverb and leaping deep into the forest off trail
<Reverb>: "Fuckin', lemme go!"
<ZhenJun>: The man throws her at the ground as quick as he grabbed her
<ZhenJun>: He lands as well. Jonas and Janet can't seem to find them, he's a quick one

<Reverb>: "Oh no ya don't cunt, get back here!" she shouts after him.
<ZhenJun>: The man stands ready, you notice on his fingers are claws and he seems to growl predatorially
Reverb holds two blades, grinning as she gets into a fighting stance.
<Reverb>: "Now this is more like it. Show me what you're made of!"

<ZhengJun>: The man crashes his foot into the ground, massive roots shoot out of it like spikes to hit you. He runs along them, then jumps, using the vines above him to swing around and try to kick you from the side
Reverb jumps back to doge the roots. As he swings towards her, she forms a mass of spikes in front of her, running toward the man.
<ZhengJun>: The man jumps over it, diving over Reverb's head to behind her. From there seeds shoot out of the ground like bullets at her
Reverb spins around, blocking the bullets. She throws the mass of spikes at the ground, letting it burst.

<ZhengJun>: The man manipulates the trees around her, twisting the ancient tropical flora to smash at her like giant clubs
Reverb forms a massive block of crystal above her, pushing the trees back
Reverb hops over the roots, getting closer to the tree man as she throws the shield at him.

<ZhenJun>: The shield bashes into him, throwing him back
Reverb throws groups of shards at the tree man, aiming for his arms and legs
<ZhenJun>: He manages to jump just in time to avoid it, deftly
<ZhenJun>: From his hand the trunk of a tree shoots out at Reverb

Reverb swings a blade at the trunk, slashing at it continually.
<Reverb>: "Alright, you're pretty fun! Let's keep it going!"
<ZhenJun>: The trunk is destroyed by her slashes
<Reverb>: "Put some effort into it! Don't hold back!"

<ZhenJun>: The man charges forward at lightning speeds, thrusting at her jaw with his knee
Reverb spins around, swinging her elbow at the man's nose.
<ZhenJun>: It collides, making a loud crack. He throws his head back, then immediately jolts it back against her head in a massive headbutt
Reverb takes the full hit of the headbutt, growling. She steps forward again, swinging her fist at the man's stomach.

<ZhenJun>: The man grabs it, and with his other hand he swings his sharp clawed hand across her torso
Reverb spins around again, flipping the man over.
<ZhenJun>: The man is flipped over, but does a similar movement to throw you over him
Reverb lands on the ground.

<ZhenJun>: Vines shoot out of the ground, wrapping themselves around you to hold you down. He pounces down to stab you with his claw
Reverb cuts the vines away, and swings to intercept the man.

<ZhenJun>: The vines are cut, and with a quick slash the man's arm comes right off. You notice there is no blood, instead his innards seem to be a strange plant like green substance
<ZhenJun>: He stumbles back, from his cut shoulder vine type things try coming out to connect the arm back

Reverb stands up again, running forward with sword in hand, aiming for the other arm.
<ZhenJun>: The arm lops right off
Reverb swings one more time, at the man's head this time.

<ZhenJun>: The head falls right off, and the body goes limp on the ground
