For 2026 I will go through gaming history by playing the games that are on the covers of gaming magazines.
I tried this as a teenager many years ago but didn't get far. Here's hoping I make solid effort.

January 2026:
Need for Speed Unbound: one of the more divisive entries in the series.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed: a pretty good remake of an underrated game.
Core Keeper: it's like multiplayer Harvest Moon but mining instead of farming.
	Overall: not a good start for PS+ for 2026.
	Verdict: C
	Renewed: No

February 2026:
Undisputed: A UFC fighting game that may appeal to some but not me.
Subnautica: Below Zero: A pretty good sequel to a game that quickly bored me.
Ultros (PS5, PS4): A psychedelic metroidvania that may be worth a go.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown: The gem of this month. High flying dog-fighting fun.
	Overall: a few good but skippable if you want to save money.
	Verdict: B
	Renewed: No

March 2026:
PGA Tour 2K25: a golf game. 18 holes = 40 winks.
Monster Hunter Rise: Highlight of the month, a solid choice.
Slime Rancher 2: FPS where I catch and farm slimes. I liked the original.
	Overall: the best month of PS+ so far.
	Verdict: B
	Renewed: maybe

April 2026:
Lords of the Fallen: a decent game in a genre I have no interest in.
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered: A trio of classic games that probably haven't aged well.
Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream: An entry in a franchise I don't care for.
	Overall: a mixed bag of slop and flop.
	Verdict: C
	Renewed: no

May 2026:
EA Sports FC 26: another year, another annual sportslop, no thanks.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: pretty bland wuxia soulslike.
Nine Sols: cute and charming action sidescroller metroidvania, the highlight of the month.
	Overall: the worst lineup this year, hell one of the worst of all time.
	Verdict: D
	Renewed: no

June 2026:
Grounded Fully Yoked Edition: a decent co-op game that's not my cup of tea.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2: Another Smash Bros. clone that might be worth a go.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide: a grimdark FPS game that is the highlight of this sorry lot.
	Overall: hardly an improvement and hardly out of the gutter.
	Verdict: C
	Renewed: no

July 2026:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III: a decent entry starring old maps and the glorious Zombies mode.
For the King II: an oddball that plays like a strategy board game. Might be alright.
CrossCode: a good retro Zelda-like game that I've already played.
	Overall: a step in the right direction but we are due for a leap.
	Verdict: C
	Renewed: no

August 2026:
Dying Light 2: decent FPS featuring parkour and zombies.
Big Walk: silly multiplayer game best played when you aren't streaming it like a dork.
Signalis: sci-fi survival horror game that's almost up my alley.
	Overall: every game is of decent quality for once.
	Verdict: C
	Renewed: no

September 2026:
Sniper Elite: Resistance: more tactical sniping that I would rather play on PC.
MLB The Show 26: one of the best baseball games to date, but I don't care for the sport.
Chained Echoes: a decent RPG throwback to 16-bit RPGS. The highlight of the month.
Wobbly Life: a silly open-world game where you take on jobs and do funny things.
	Overall: something for everyone but nothing for me.
	Verdict: D
