  1. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  2. I don't know where every single one of these areas are and they're not fucking marked. I'm flying to turn in a quest and then suddenly someone one-shots me out of the sky. Wtf??
  3. Sunset~y
  4. some of the old places are coded like that
  5. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  6. I play on a PVE server specifically so that I can avoid getting one-shotted by the lvl 110 assholes who hang out in lvl 60-80 areas.
  7. Sunset~y
  8. it was originally designed to encourage World PVP in zones such as outland
  9. Sunset~y
  10. so there was PVP quests and zones in each area
  11. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  12. If I want to PVP then I will make that choice, or I'll play on a PVP server. But don't you dare force it on me. That's bullshit.
  13. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  14. I'm cool with having those areas, but don't flag me for PVP without my consent just because I flew over that area or got too close.
  15. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  16. That's the part that I find to be fucking bullshit and it pisses me off.
  17. Sunset~y
  18. upcoming changes will stabilize the situation though with Battle for Azeroth
  19. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  20. Good. They better get rid of that trash.
  21. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  22. Don't try to force that shit on me.
  23. Sunset~y
  24. you won't need to worry about world pvp activating unless you toggle into it
  25. Sunset~y
  26. right now, faction hubs that are of the opposite faction if you get too close to them will flag you, but temporarily as you pass by them
  27. Sunset~y
  28. but that's only really an issue in the older expansions
  29. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  30. Like, I don't need an explanation, thanks. There is no explanation to excuse that shit. None.
  31. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  32. I'm pissed. That should never have been a thing, period.
  33. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  34. I happily played the PVP capture point quest in Outlands last night and I had fun, but that's because I chose to. I toggled PVP on consentually.
  35. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  36. But don't you fucking dare force that on me just because I'm in that area, especially when it's not fucking marked.
  37. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  38. If I play on a PVE server then I'm going to expect to always be in PVE mode unless I choose otherwise. Period, no excuses.
  39. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  40. Seriously, why couldn't make a well-marked zone in bright red on the map? "Hey idiot, this is PVP area! Stay away if you don't want to get attacked!" Then yeah, if I get too close it's my own fault. But it's not marked, it looks like any other area on the map, there are other-faction NPCs all over the place that won't attack me.
  41. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  42. How was I supposed to know???
  43. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  44. such
  45. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  46. bull
  47. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  48. shit
  49. ђเץค, ɠє๏гɠเє!
  50. I avoid pvp/pve areas like the plague because honestly all I want is to play and not be hassled
  51. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  52. Huh? All servers are either PVP or PVE. I'm not sure what you mean.
  53. ђเץค, ɠє๏гɠเє!
  54. I’m on one classified as normal or am I missing something?
  55. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  56. PVE is normal. It stands for player versus environment which is the normal/questing mode of play. It means other players can't attack you unless you turn on PVP mode so that you can focus on quests.
  57. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  58. And that's the type of server I'm on too because I want to avoid PVP unless I specifically flag/consent to it. Which is why I'm fucking pissed.
  59. Tanarianasks
  60. Do you remember where you were?
  61. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  62. I'm in Outlands and the area is called Falcon Watch.
  63. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  64. As I was flying near it I noticed that it looked like Blood Elf architecture, but that didn't really mean anything because in other areas you quest around other-faction areas all the time and they don't attack you, because you're doing quests for them.
  65. Tanariansays
  66. Aha, I remember that one. It's a faction-specific base. Guards and especially the flight master are usually cap-level and they will sting something fierce even when you're capped too. Same thing would happen to Hordies flying near the Draenei temple further north.
  67. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  68. Yeah, some warning would have been nice.
  69. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  70. I'm happy to avoid areas, just TELL me what they are.
  71. Tanariansays
  72. Look for the icons on the map or minimap, like the stable master and stuff. Any place that has an innkeeper, for example, will probably have guards too.
  73. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  74. But like I already said, I've been doing quests for Horde-aligned NPCs for like twenty levels now and I've never once run into an area that auto triggered me for PVP.
  75. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  76. Falcon Keep doesn't have any of those icons.
  77. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  78. Also, again, I've been in other Horde-run areas that had those icons and I wasn't attacked, because they were safe questing areas for both factions.
  79. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  80. It's the auto-toggle PVP that I have a problem with. That's just not cool, especially if I'm not given any warning whatsoever that it's going to happen.
  81. Tanariansays
  82. Hm, I thought it did. I'll have to take a look and see if I can find something more distinctive. I can tell you where to avoid once you move on from Hellfire, if that would help. (And that wears off in five minutes, once you get clear.)
  83. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  84. Now, if I've somehow stumbled into a Horde-only region and there's nothing but Horde everywhere? Yeah, that makes sense that I'm gonna be attacked. But this area is isn't Horde, it's pretty evenly split between both factions, which is very similar to other areas I've been in before.
  85. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  86. This is what the map looks like:
  87. Tanariansays
  88. All of Outland is like that except for... Netherstorm. Steamwheedle and Ethereals only, and hostile NPC areas. (I think)
  89. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  90. Look at Falcon Watch. No icons, no indicators of any kind, nothing to suggest that it's a place I should stay away from or else.
  91. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  92. All of Outland is like what?
  93. Tanariansays
  94. Hmmm. I'll see stable master icons at Horde locations sometimes, I wonder what I have set differently.
  95. All of Outland is split up like you described, except for Netherstorm.
  96. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  97. Right, which is just like other areas I've been before only the NPCs there didn't attack me. So that's what I based my judgements off of. Now I don't know what to think and it's made me paranoid.
  98. Tanariansays
  99. I'm not sure which areas you mean yet.
  100. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  101. What? There are a ton of regions where there are both Horde and Alliance players, quests, and NPCs. I've just been through like five of them as I've been leveling.
  102. Tanarianwonders
  103. why your map doesn't show a red flight point at Falcon Watch.
  104. Tanariansays
  105. In Hellfire, say.
  106. Obsessive DM
  107. Ugh, I'd forgotten about that BS
  108. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  109. Do you mostly play on PVP servers? Maybe that's only a thing there.
  110. Tanariansays
  111. I avoid PvP servers like the plague. I even did a character transfer off one for a toon I don't even play that often.
  112. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  113. Then I have no idea what you're talking about.
  114. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  115. Until I get some kind of indication or warning that I'm going into a PVP area, there is absolutely zero fucking excuse for this bullshit. No excuses, no explanations, it just shouldn't happen.
  116. Tanarianasks
  117. Was there anyplace on Hellfire Peninsula that had this mix of factions doing quests that you mentioned? Or was that in a previous area?
  118. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  119. Sure, I have a Horde player sitting next to me right now lol.
  120. Tanarian
  121. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  122. I've also had that in previous areas too.
  123. Tanarianasks
  124. Are you using any addons, or just the bare UI?
  125. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  126. I am using addons, yes, but they're all up to date.
  127. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  128. Also, the ones I'm using shouldn't affect icons like that.
  129. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  130. Hell, even if there were such icons on Falcon Watch, that's still not an indication of a PVP area.
  131. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  132. The only way I could tell it was PVP was when I flew close enough to hover over the NPCs and saw "PVP" on their little tooltips, but once to get that close it's too late. I shouldn't have to get that close to know what the fuck is going on.
  133. Tanariansays
  134. On mine I see blue FPs for Alliance, red for Horde, yellow for neutral - I'm trying to figure out what's displaying them, that you wouldn't have the same.
  135. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  136. If they want to have areas like that on a PVE server they need to marked in bright red or have a blinking neon sign or some shit.
  137. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  138. If you go into the Broken Isles there are spots that will warn you 'if you stick around this area, you will be flagged' but it's a 10sec debuff so plenty of time to get out of that area before it triggers the flag
  139. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  140. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є: Aha see, that's the kind of warning that I would have liked.
  141. Tanariansays
  142. Yeah, the PvP towers. They flip back and forth between factions, but they always warn like that.
  143. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  144. Yeah, its in bright yellow text in the middle of the screen too
  145. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  146. Yes, that's exactly what they should have in all PVP areas. Also I love the 10 sec debuff thing.
  147. Tanariansays
  148. And the Bareback Brawl area, annnnd... Murloc Freedom.
  149. Tanariansays
  150. See, it's not really a PvP area. It's a faction base.
  151. Tanariansays
  152. Falcon Watch, I mean.
  153. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  154. It's a PVP area if it forces you into PVP mode. It's a PVP area.
  155. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  156. It auto-flagged me for PVP without any warning whatsoever and before I could realize it and do something about it I was one-shot out of the sky. And then I had that 5 min thing that I had to wait out.
  157. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  158. OH!
  159. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  160. check your unit frames when you fly close to any horde base
  161. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  162. it should show a debuff
  163. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  164. Unit frames? What are those?
  165. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  166. your character health
  167. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  168. where your name and health are shown
  169. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  170. OH, yeah I did see that. But like I said, by the time I noticed that it was too late.
  171. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  172. yeah, that's where it shows up.. it doesn't matter if your flagged or not
  173. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  174. Also, that thing is SUPER super subtle. It doesn't blink in red letters in front of your face so I didn't notice it at first.
  175. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  176. those are base defenders
  177. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  178. Yeah, that's not a warning.
  179. Tanariansays
  180. I can't find any addons that enhance your basic map - just specialty mapping.
  181. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  182. That's not enough, especially when I'm playing on a fucking PVE server for fuck's sake.
  183. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  184. Basically they're there to keep the opposite faction from flying in and ganking things
  185. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  186. unfortunately they also take down innocents
  187. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  188. That's fine. Again, I don't want explanations because no explanation could possibly excuse the fact that I had no fucking warning.
  189. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  190. Please try to understand the reason why I'm angry in the first place.
  191. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  192. I'm not interested in the reason why there's an area like that or NPCs like that because that's not the issue. I want to know WHY Blizzard chose not to put bright, un-ignorable warnings so that no unsuspecting newbs could just stumble into that area by accident.
  193. Tanariansays
  194. I don't know what else to say other than I'm sorry the guards nailed you, as that is always a real pain.
  195. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  196. The other thing to say here is that Blizzard fucked up and they need to seriously fix this shit because it's not okay.
  197. thє sun
  198. You should toggle on enemy tags. It’s control v
  199. Tanarian
  200. thє sun: That wouldn't have helped her in this case.
  201. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  202. Just fly around the Horde bases from now on
  203. thє sun
  204. But the point of faction aligned bases is so that people don’t get ganked and if it has blood elf architecture you shouldn’t get close as an alliance
  205. thє sun
  206. Same for orc architecture
  207. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  208. I'm sick of saying this over and over and over again. IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE OTHER AREAS I'VE ALREADY BEEN THROUGH.
  209. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  210. Yes, it looked like a Horde base. So did dozens of other zones I've already quested through.
  211. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  212. There was NOTHING. NOTHING. to make this place distinct from any other place I've already been in that was safe for me.
  213. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  214. Except, of course, until I got too close but then it was too late.
  215. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  216. I've seen dozens of Tauren, Goblin, Blood Elf, Orc, etc... bases and NPCs that had quests for me and were perfectly friendly. The first time I saw it I was wary because I didn't know what would happen. Then I got used to it and thought it was normal. Now I'm wary again because I had no warning.
  217. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  218. thє sun Yeah, I already have enemy tags on. Didn't help.
  219. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  220. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є: And the problem with that suggestion is that I can't tell they're Horde bases sometimes until I get too close, and also sometimes those bases have quests for you. It's impossible to tell the difference.
  221. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  222. I'm confused, which faction are you?
  223. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  224. I'm Alliance.
  225. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  226. Though there are neutral bases
  227. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  228. Like in Felwood, Tanaris, Winterspring
  229. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  230. Yes, there are, and they have Horde NPCs and architecture and theming too.
  231. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  232. That's what I've been saying. There's no way to tell the difference until you get too close.
  233. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  234. Well one way to learn outside of reading up on horde bases, is play a Horde character
  235. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  236. I shouldn't have to do that. It should already be marked.
  237. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  238. There. Is. No. Excuse.
  239. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  240. Like, for fuck's sake, just a red zone on the map with "PVP AREA" when you hover over it or something. It's not hard.
  241. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  242. Or "HORDE ONLY" or whatever.
  243. thє sun
  244. I don’t know what to tell you. It’s working as intended. I’ve been playing for 12 years and sometimes you clip a base too close. Your color will turn from blue to green if you have friendly npc nameplates on
  245. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  246. Like, if I'm in Orgrimmar yeah, obviously that's not a place for me. But this is a multi-faction zone. That's not the same thing.
  247. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  248. No, it's not working as intended. It killed me for no fucking reason.
  249. thє sun
  250. Because on a normal server you’re always blue unless you’ve been flagged for pvp and then you’re green
  251. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  252. If I were some lvl 110 jerk just trying to gank some innocent lvl 60 Horde player trying to do quests, then yeah, I'd get what I deserved.
  253. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  254. ... I'm not sure you've read this whole plurk.
  255. thє sun
  256. I have. Your complaint makes no sense
  257. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  258. I had no warning whatsoever. What doesn't make sense about that?
  259. thє sun
  260. I’ve played this game for twelve years and not had a problem with this
  261. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  262. Good for you?
  263. thє sun
  264. If you’re unfamiliar with which bases are alliance and horde I recommended looking it up on wowpedia or wowhead
  265. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  266. like I already said
  267. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  268. I shouldn't have to do that. It should be clearly marked.
  269. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  270. Especially in a multi-faction zone.
  271. thє sun
  272. You’re literally the only person I’ve ever met playing this game who has had a problem with this so I doubt blizzard would implement a change. But as a general rule if your name above your head changes from blue to green you’ve been flagged for PvP for entering an opposing faction zone and need to move quickly out of it
  273. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  274. I have an idea, tell your interface to only show names of enemies, that way if its hostile to you the name will be there in red/orange, you'll know to avoid it
  275. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  276. Screenshot
  277. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  278. also always fly high when flying over any base
  279. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  280. flying low is usually asking for trouble as you've found
  281. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  282. Okay, that first statement is not true because you said you read the rest of my plurk. I didn't notice a change of the color of my name so I'm not even sure if it turned green at all. Also, I don't play PVP so that's not something I'm aware of anyway.
  283. thє sun
  284. It changes from blue to green if you have friendly npc names turned on
  285. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  286. I'm not taking about your name
  287. thє sun
  288. Like all the questgivers on normal have green names but yours is blue because they are automatically pvp and you aren’t
  289. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  290. I'm talking about other ppl's names/npc's names
  291. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  292. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є: I was talking to thє sun
  293. thє sun
  294. Yeah she was talking to me
  295. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  296. I don't have friendly names showing
  297. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  298. I don't have my own name showing because I find it super distracting.
  299. thє sun
  300. I do because it’s easier to know if I’ve gotten flagged
  301. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  302. The map should be fucking marked. Period.
  303. thє sun
  304. Well if you have it showing it will show if you’ve been flagged
  305. thє sun
  306. Which is how the map tells you
  307. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  308. Nothing will convince me that this isn't fucking bullshit. I don't know why we're still arguing this because you will never convince me otherwise.
  309. thє sun
  310. I mean be upset if you want to but you’ll continue to run into this issue as you level higher
  311. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  312. I play a PVE server specifically to avoid this shit. It should NEVER be forced on me and I should have clear warning before I venture into a specific zone.
  313. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  314. Plurk is being a butt and hiding things until I refresh
  315. thє sun
  316. So I’m trying to offer you a solution as to not have this happen again
  317. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  318. Yes, I am upset and it's something that needs to change.
  319. thє sun
  320. It’s not going to because again your name will be clearly marked to change from blue to green as you enter pvp and if you go to interface on your options and turn on your name you will see this
  321. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  322. But I should be warned BEFORE getting flagged.
  323. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  324. BEFORE.
  325. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  326. WARNING.
  327. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  328. Because I play on a PVE server. Why does that not make sense?
  329. thє sun
  330. It’s been working like this since the game inception and it won’t change - this isn’t pvp, this is you going into an opposing base. This is something you’ll have to deal with because it won’t change
  331. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  332. I can't stand to play with my name over my head so that's not happening. I shouldn't have to do that just to avoid certain areas.
  333. thє sun
  334. So my suggestion would be to try some of the things we suggested here
  335. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  336. Actually, someone else said that it will change.
  337. thє sun
  338. No that is pvp
  339. thє sun
  340. On pvp servers
  341. thє sun
  342. Which is actual players fighting you
  343. thє sun
  344. What happened here is npc guards attacking you
  345. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  346. You getting flagged for purposely entering a horde base isn't going to change
  347. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  348. Do seriously have to keep repeating myself? I'm getting tired of this.
  349. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  350. I didn't
  351. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  352. know
  353. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  354. it was
  355. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  356. a Horde base
  357. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  358. even if you didn't know it was a horde base... the game considers it as you knowingly entering it
  359. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  360. And that's the part that's bullshit.
  361. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  362. That exactly.
  363. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  364. Look, I've already argued this in circles and nothing you guys have said has even contested my arguments. They are sound and they are valid. No one is listening to me, no one seems to even try to understand my feelings on the matter, all I'm getting now is "too bad so sad get over it" and that's not okay.
  365. thє sun
  366. I realize this may be important to you but it is simply not how the game works
  367. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  368. Uh. Except this is exactly how the game has worked until now, which is why I had no warning.
  369. thє sun
  370. Now if you enter a world pvp zone like wintergrasp it does give a warning you’ll be flagged after so many seconds unless you get out but an enemy base isn’t the same situation. Fly high, turn your name on to monitor
  371. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  372. I can't turn on my name. Like I already
  373. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  374. fucking said
  375. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  376. that's not happening. I can't play that way.
  377. thє sun
  378. Then you will continue to be killed by guards
  379. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  380. I KNOW. And that's the part I have a problem with.
  381. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  382. Why are you doing this?
  383. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  384. Seriously, is making me upset fun to you?
  385. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  386. I don't understand.
  387. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  388. This "too bad, this is the game" attitude is why people stop playing games in the first place.
  389. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  390. That is never an appropriate argument or excuse.
  391. thє sun
  392. Feel free to comment to blizzard but I doubt this is something that will be changed since other people do not have issue with it
  393. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  394. Why do you keep saying that? Other people do have issues with it.
  395. thє sun
  396. Like I said go comment to them and see what response you get
  397. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  398. See, that's what you should have said all along. Something constructive and supportive.
  399. thє sun
  400. I’ve offered solutions that will allow you to avoid this in the future and you don’t want to take them so
  401. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  402. One solution and it's not a solution, it's a flimsy work-around that doesn't work for everyone.
  403. thє sun
  404. No, I think you’re having a ridiculous reaction to running into a horde base by accident
  405. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  406. Okay see, once again trying to invalidate my feelings.
  407. thє sun
  408. But I’m not going to tell you not to comment to the game developers that’s what they’re there for
  409. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  410. That's not okay.
  411. thє sun
  412. It’s just a game gen
  413. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  414. "ridiculous reaction"
  415. thє sun
  416. It happens to everyone move on
  417. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  418. That attitude is not welcome. Stop it.
  419. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  420. Kicking someone when they're already down is just so not cool.
  421. thє sun
  422. I’m going to remove myself from this conversation since you won’t see reason or utilize solutions and instead want to blame the game for you making a mistake
  423. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  424. This is the kind of shit that neckbeard assholes do on gaming forums.
  425. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  426. You're the one being completely unreasonable omg
  427. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  428. The assumption that I'm like crying or having a tantrum when I'm just annoyed about a game mechanic is so shitty.
  429. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  430. See, this is the kind of thing that makes people never want to speak up about things that annoy them or rant about stuff.
  431. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  432. The "that's life get over it" people are just not helping anything, ever. I appreciate the suggestions but if they don't work for me then the response shouldn't be to keep ramming it in my face and think I'm ungrateful if I don't like it.
  433. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  434. So after discussing it with my husband (who also thinks it's bullshit, and has been playing WoW since vanilla, as well as Warcraft, the rts game it was based off of), he said that areas like that were originally put in when you couldn't fly in that particular region, so the possibility of flying over them wasn't even a possibility.
  435. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  436. lol that last phrase is redundant but you get what I mean.
  437. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  438. So no, this is not how the game was "meant to be". It's from an earlier version that was never updated to account for a changed set of abilities at particular levels.
  439. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  440. Last question for ye cause I'm curious, how long did you hang around Falcon Watch?
  441. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  442. lol I didn't "hang around" Falcon Watch. In fact I didn't even fly completely over it. I barely grazed the outskirts as I was flying past and I was in range of the NPCs for maybe a second and a half before I was shot down.
  443. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  444. I didn't really have time to even react.
  445. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  446. I went there just now on my 71 druid and I had to hang around it for a bit before I was shot down, like 20-25sec
  447. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  448. And I'm super glad I only grazed it because if I'd flown right over it my corpse would have been right in the middle of the base and I'm not sure I would have been able to resurrect.
  449. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  450. I tried doing that and they marked me but I was out of there before they did anything
  451. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  452. ah were ye flying low? I wasn't
  453. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  454. might be the difference
  455. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  456. I wasn't flying super low, but yeah, probably enough to just barely be in range. Like, I wasn't grazing the ground.
  457. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  458. So yeah anyway, this wasn't the intention when this area was originally designed so I think this is definitely something Blizzard should look into.
  459. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  460. The funny thing is that I usually fly around that height, and even the enemy mobs on the ground mostly ignore me.
  461. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  462. So I've been reading up on BfA and apparently the PVP-related changes coming with the new expansion will mean that if you want to enable PVP you have to do that in a capital city, and you can't just toggle it on or off whenever.
  463. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  464. That sounds like it will indeed affect situations like this. If you can only change your PVP preferences in certain places, then the trouble I had today shouldn't happen anymore, right?
  465. ɗɑɗɗყ ℓuƙɛ
  466. The automatic toggling of my PVP flag specifically. I don't know if it'll affect NPCs randomly one-shotting me lol.
  467. Tanariansays
  468. If you get killed in an enemy faction area, you can choose to rez at the graveyard, take the rez sickness and go about your business; or depending on how deep you're into a bad area, you can corpse-run a couple of times to get out. This one time my Belf accidentally flew into the wrong Shrine on Pandaria out of reflex, took her at least 3x tries to get out.
  469. Tanariansays
  470. I'm not sure which way is least expensive, and time-consuming (10 minutes rez sickness vs ghost travel) is going to vary depending on each location.
  471. Tanariansays
  472. It doesn't address your primary complaint, but to answer a side issue.
  473. ƒσятнєαℓℓιαη¢є
  474. I highly doubt the new pvp system is going to stop the flag flip from running into opposite faction areas, but we'll see (it'd be interesting if it did as it'd make certain achievements 10x easier to get)
  475. Obsessive DM
  476. FFS, Gen didn't say she wanted to stop the flag flip, she just wanted better warning that she was entering that area
