  3. Main: Reimu, Yuyuko
  4. Alts: Aya, Suika, Tenshi, Patchouli, Reisen, Iku, Youmu (Side note: All these alts are mostly from a fundamental level, and I know much less about them than my mains, from a cumulative standpoint.)

  6. Soku Specialties: Combos. Combos. You don't understand: I will give you most, if not all of the optimal combos for any given character (If I don't know them off-hand, I will gladly direct you towards someone who does.) Aside from that, I know a fair amount of specific (and often esoteric) techniques to help with certain struggles in Soku.

  8. About Myself:
  9. Oh dear, where do I begin?
  10. ...probably from the beginning, I suppose.
  11. I've been a soku player since about 2012, but I wasn't anything above able to barely beat Lunatic AI until mid-2017, when I joined #hisouten. Since then, I've been grinding anywhere from 20-60 hours a month in netplay. I'll be the first to tell you that time spent does NOT equal skill, however. It was only around early 2018 when I started improving for real, and that was due to using the techniques I'll talk about later. In late November, I created a combo contest, where I received SO many shitposts, you have no idea. It was a running meme on the server for a few days, since I DID receive over 100 combos for that first contest and the best combos were "judged" live. Despite that being a MASSIVE shitshow, the turnout was pretty inspiring, so I made another not two months later. THIS one, however, had a later deadline than the last contest and much stricter rules regarding submissions. While there were only 49 combos for that contest, I personally feel it was a much better organized contest than the last one, and the final compilation much cleaner and succinct. Since then, I've been a behind-the-scenes tournament staff member, helping out with various ideas and tournament seeding. In addition to that, my team and I have made a series of videos dedicated to making knowledge related to soku much easier to digest and retain. Currently, there are 20 videos, one for each character, showing high level gameplay and fairly important matchup knowledge. If you want to see how the strong players play your character, feel free to take a look!

  17. Mentoring Philosophy: If you want to practice, make sure you're practicing something worthwhile.

  19. Other: I'm on the server basically all day (aside from TUES/THURS since I have classes) so feel free to DM me or ping me (@FranFranBurger#2977) with questions (or just interesting things you've found with soku, be it techniques or combos or anything, really!), and I'll be more than happy to respond as soon as I can!
