I am unsure where to begin my tale. There is much to tell you and very little time to tell it, much more then I can tell in the hours I have before I meet my final fate. I know more then I could possibly tell you all but i hope you can learn from this record .
The Kingdom of Terima is a kingdom based on the power and knowlege of their mages.  It is located on a very large island seperated from any of the other kingdoms. The mages  are dedicated to the king's schools.  All children under go a simple test at the age of sixteen  once acording to all records i can find.  Once they enter the school  they change, becoming less emotional and extremely detached, often not even reconising their familys.
Of course I had little to no idea of this at the start of my story. I was a child who had been abandoned to the great forest near a small village that I can't honestly tell you the name of. it was a  small village centered around harvesting trees from the near by forest.  I was wild and savage, the villagers feared me as a dark spirt . To this day I still call this forest my true home or at least it was the place i think i was the happiest or at very least i was truely free.
I had a few treasures, ate and drank my fill and hunted amongst the trees. my treasures included a knife with a bear claw, a spear, a leather bag and a book that i had found when i was very, very young.
The forest protected me. I very rarely, if ever went into the village. This year I had little to no luck hunting or gathering. In fact the year had been so lean all the other animals had been left hungry. Sometimes I would hunt a wolf or even a bear but in this state they would be unmanageable.
I wore animal pelts, including a wolfs head hood, i can only imagine what the villagers thought of me  . I entered  it  secretly  between the few buildings hiding amongst bushes and then waited for a moment. When the villagers were dispersed, i rushed to a small cart and took what I could.  A leg of pork and a few other preserved items from the cart  filled my pouch.
As they noticed me the sound of yelling came from up the street. I guess i was well known but the villagers had chased me before  and they had never gotten close to catching me. I ran.
I ducked and I wove and i bolted for the forest because the villagers would never bother to attempt to chase me there. They knew they could never catch me within the embrace of the forest. Little did i know that the day of testing was close at hand and a mage was in the village.
She actully was quite pretty as I recall the moment now she spoke a spell  it echoed through the world  as it commanded the grass beneath my feet to rise up around my body as if it was living rope entangling me completely .
I struggled against the binds . the woman was tall with long blond hair and a strange metalic tiara . around her temples as she aproched me she spoke to me but i didn't understand it at all i bearly spoke anything I could understand basic emotional tones. she was angery and she scared me
I gathered my strength against the strands of the plants. she pointed a staff at me and it cuased me a great deal of increadble fear . i breathed in hard  and screamed out  i drew up all my strength with in.
I had no idea about magic really  at this point I had never seen a mage before all my strength was tossed into my shout and it blasted  the woman backward the other villagers shrunk in fear.
i ducked into the forest as fast as i could completely exusted I had no control  of this power as strong as it was i feared it. I lurched through the forest  it was difficult i had been tired before but this level of exustion was new to me. I made my way  to my home a small cave under a large tree that i had built up a little bit.  i colapsed into a fur piled bed to sleep I fell in to a deep dreamless sleep.
I must of left a trail behind as i stumbled to my hole in the ground  as i slept one of my early alert systems was activated i was still tired but i roused my self my  home was compremised  and i had to abandon it. I had learned early on to leave my self a back exit to my dens a bear  once found me and traped me in an early den for a week.
 it was hidden under my fur bed i took what food I could in my bag with my treasures and sliped out the bed through a small tunnel that i barely could fit in.  I pulled my self through it it led to a small pond that i kept for fish .
it had a large stone that i tumbled over and set the small creek  that kept my pond full spilling out into the tunnel. my  house was trapped i knew it would keep who ever it was busy for a while i could see them two people  one was the mage. i hid amonst the bushes and trees deciding to run.
there were few places for me to go anymore i had no other dens anymore not in the time i had anyway . I had to run for the deep forests. No one went into the deep forest not even the animals.
it was a dangerous place. the trees were  twisted they grew all over each other the roots left little to no space between them the trees them selves were dangerous. they twisted around things  they would sometimes actully reach out and grab animals they are predtors and were terribly unfreindly.
i lept past the bramble wall that was the entrance to the deep woods. the roots almost instantly luanched out to me as as I ran and jump between the roots quickly i was still tired but i could not  rest even an instant.
the roots were fast  but i had alot of practice leaping between trees  they were unatrual and followed me as best they could. the other trees would intervene trying to take me for their own.
i feared the mage so much i confronted this forest of monsterous trees. each one groaning with anger and hunger as i passed by i saw a clearing before me as one snached my foot and it cuased me to fall foward  my foot was badly hurt my leg broke as i  finished the run.
I found my self under a massive tree much larger then any other i have ever seen. I found my self mesmised by the sheer size of it it towered over the forest its branches spreading out in every direction.
It filled me with a sense of calm  that i couldn't explain as a leaf fell onto my forhead i simply knew that this was a place i was ment to be . i sat under the tree for days with out any conceren for anything behond the sheer calm that this place gave me.
I expeirmented with this strange power i had discoved during this time and much of what i now know of magic began there. I left the clearing knowing i would never be able to return patched up my leg and took off through the trees again. I knew they would not harm me now and they did not attemt it . it was a simple stroll through the twisted roots and trees. How ever i knew if i ever dared to try to return they would tear me apart.
i limped through the trees and i fell by a small track through the lighter parts of the forest i colapsed there by the side of the road . i layed out injured i ate some the last of my food as i lent against a tree and passed out for a while .
to be honest i was in a great deal of trouble my leg was broken and i was  hungery and thirsty it was a few days before they found me.
I must admit i was a less then freindly guest for the merchent and his duaghter I did eventualy warm to them  but at first i was a scared hurt animal who  was cornered. it took some time but the girl brought me food and water a few weeks and i finaly calmed down .
she was maybe a year older then me with long redish hair and brown eyes,  it was about a month she slowly  tuaght me some basic speach I could begin to comunicate i guess this is about the place to start telling you in greater detail of the things that happened
my memory is an odd place now that i look back things before i met sally are so much more hazy and fogged in my mind she was a kind girl  her father was roger and they gave me a name. I am quinn and i had arived
I learned alot about the kingdom and the world around it . the world is ruled by mages  a decenly powerfull mage could totaly change the influx of a war the kingdom makes them swear total fealty to the king but they seemed to think that the master of the mages school actully controlls him.
they told me storys about the powers of mages that was the first time i reallly realised thats what i was i guess. i knew i had a power but at first i was not even sure i was truely human. to be honest i never questioned it all that much
we spent time as i learned to speak to the girl and her father it was a slow proccess for me to learn it mostly I continued to speak back and forth  it grew easier slowly but to this this day i must admit to this day given the chance i preffer not to speak if i can help it to this day it gives me an air of coldness but  mostly i just listen in some ways that is what makes me so dangerous.  if you doun't count everything else about me thats dangerous
I ate better then i ever had before and drunk till my belly was fit to burst with sally and her father it was the first time i had ever been around people for any length of time. it was very strange for me .
as i stayed with them my powers continued to grow and this is perhaps the best time to explain something basic about it.  there are a basicly two ways to do magic one is to draw in force from the world around you and focus it to your will . the other much more dangerous and powerfull way to do it is to force your will out into the world and force the world to change around it. how ever it is extremely tireing and few if any have mastered this tatic to my level
I traveld with this trader for a while untill i decied it was time to leave them though i could never repay their genrositiy acording to what i could  discover not going to the mage schools and swearing fealtiy to the king is basicly tandamount to treason and one can be put to death for it.
I honestly didn't want to give them any trouble they seemed like nice people i honestly considered returning  the forest but i knew it wasn't my place anymore.i could still hunt and move like a wild spirt through the trees but i was human now and that meant i would never belong again not to the forest at least
I began to wander as a homeless man doing a little work here and there for food mostly hunting so as to not completly lose my skills i had gained in my youth it wasn't hard admitly most hunters don't use my tatics not they even know what they are.
I finaly found a  village after about a year or so the time of testing was just around the corner so i had to make a descion to confront a mage or not. I started by watching him he was a  stocky man but rather short and it didn't take long of me watching me to notice a few things
the ring the mages wear around there heads have a few effects on them they are powerfully enchanted by a mage well beyond any power  i could  weild alone but we will get to that. they bind the mages mind to their master and inhibit their emotions all while leecching their power away but to a minor level to make sure they can never become more powerfull then when they began to wear it.
i could almost imedatly tell there was something wrong with him the ring had a great deal of  power i could sense it . i wouldn't know the full details untill later but this presented a number of issues.
whie i would be considered a traitor just for having magic  with out giving my self to the kingdom it was easy enough for me to hide it the mage aparntly had no ablity for it .  i could tell my power completely  shadowed his  how ever attacking him would alert his master to my existance.
i honesty didn't make a decision untill i saw him testing it was a simple test really nothing too invasive it devined their speiclaty and their strength.  he would simply take the children that showed any magical strength they all acted like it was a great honor.
I watched for a while untill  he took a girl  with him the last child into a carvan where tehre were cages and chains and of course other sorts of tourter devices i shadowed my self into his cart.  he bearly even noticed as i cut  his neck with my bear claw knife  and dropped his corpse  like a sack of potatos.
I never had killed a man before but it felt no diffrent then killing a bear or a wolf i had no real atachment to them. the cart was a little out of town so the children screaming didn't alert anyone i tossed the body out and calmed them  down after a while and freed  them from their chains  .
it took me a while to make sure they didn't run way back home if they had they would only have bring down the wrath of the kingdomw down onto their village. armed me would of sluaghted their familys.
so now i had a new family a bearly human person with more power then sense all i could think to do was to keep them moving around teaching them what i could of magic and the world not that i really understood it all that well my self.
we traveld constantly i fed them with my skills at foraging and hunting it was a litlte harder with so many mouths i must admit but i made sure they ate. I finaly learned about money and buying things later on and started selling the bits of animal that were no good for food, horns and skin teeth and claws.
people would ask about my little ontrage fairly often but i played them off as ophans  or the like it wasn't uncommon i kept stealing them from the mages around the place as besst i could setting the elder children up to help teach the youngers how to manage their powers.
