  1. [19:00] Lyulf raised a brow at the greeting and then he simply gave a nod once Araceli spoke. It was a strange thing to see the shifting of the crowd but his interest had been peaked. Perhaps it was the shift of songstress to Queen in the matter of days that'd surprised him.
  2.
  3. "Alright, I'm interested. Let's see what this is all about." His stride took him across the courtyard and he simply stood next to the Revenant and Ace. For once he was going to simply take things at an even clip and see how they played out. Better than his normal bullish approach to these shorts of meetings.
  4. (Lyulf Yayle)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [19:00] "Oh..?"
  8.
  9. While Ambrose peers inside the bag, he seems rather.. surprised at the amount of different things that she gathered. Though..
  10.
  11. "--Truth be told."
  12.
  13. "All of this is useful - in different ways. But I imagine it's not like I can just get everything."
  14.
  15. What seems to briefly attract his attention is the fact that Lucinda calls out and admits to being a Meztin. A daughter of Moxtli's leaders, here..?
  16.
  17. That could be more trouble than it's worth.
  18.
  19. A glare is given to Araceli. While she may not immediately notice it, the shadows darken around Ambrose - originating in the dark magic, no doubt, yet it seems that something is spelled out with those shadows.
  20.
  21. All behind Lucinda's back - but directed at Araceli.
  22.
  23. 'Tribal.'
  24. 'Leader's daughter.'
  25.
  26. The shadows soon disappear, no longer spelling out these letters. What Araceli decides to do is only her own decision.
  27.
  28. But for now.. his gaze turns to Vilyra.
  29.
  30. "Come along. My workshop is nearby."
  31. (Ambrose Roche)
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. [19:00] The drawn shadows by Ambrose were recognized, but this only seemed to interest Araceli further. Her gaze shifting to Lucinda then, a smile.
  35.
  36. "It is a pleasure to meet you, miss Lucinda Meztin. The shadows were correct, for what I offer is a gift unimaginable."
  37.
  38. Considering her age, it was unlikely that she thought of mortality like those older would. In fact, Araceli was uncertain if the same argument could work, but it would need to be had at a later time.
  39.
  40. "I can most definitely guide you, but we can speak after my meeting."
  41.
  42. The Queen had made Ace and the Revenant wait long enough, after all. With Lyulf's arrival, she could not push it off any longer.
  43.
  44. "We will have an audience within the throne room, if you would follow me."
  45.
  46. A nod to Rajak, knowing he could handle things outside, if things needed handling.
  47. (Araceli Falkenrath)
  48. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  49.
  50. [19:00] Lucinda Meztin exclaims, "Okay!"
  51. [19:00] Rajak returns the gesture.
  52. (Rajak)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [19:00] The Revenant whispers to Lyulf Yayle: Stand before the Queen.
  56. [19:00] Araceli led the way back into the castle of Asphodel, before approaching her throne, seating herself immediately. Gaze shifting before those gathered, before lingering upon Ace in particular.
  57.
  58. "It has come to my attention that you are interested in Cain's blessing, yes?"
  59.
  60. A quirk of her brow, as she glanced towards Lyulf.
  61.
  62. "And the same could be said of you as well? I must admit that you sparked my curiosity the last time we met, so I was hoping to meet with you again."
  63.
  64. Though at the time she had been masquerading as a 'songstress' and was most certainly not a Queen.
  65.
  66. "Ah, forgive me for my manners. My name is Araceli Falkenrath, but you may address me as Queen."
  67.
  68. Coming to a stand, before offering a formal, practised curtsy to the duo, after which seating herself once again.
  69. (Araceli Falkenrath)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. [19:00] The masked figure stood at attention next to the Queen's throne, his posture much the same as ever. From behind those black slits in the disturbingly human mask he watched though no gaze could be discerned from within.
  73.
  74. Gloved hands remained resting atop one another perched upon the bulbous end of the cane he bore. Oddly for all he had spoken with Ace previously, he was quiet an observant as an attendant bodyguard.
  75.
  76. From behind the mask the man's features twisted with furtive curiosity as he wondered how they would react to the offer made so differently than the vague promised unto the petitioners.
  77. (The Revenant)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [19:00] "I have no idea what that is."
  81.
  82. His answer was given easily to the Queen but it was given honestly. The gunslinger had grown up in Achyon seeing Vampires on the periphery of life but when it came to what they actually where and their culture? The man let out a sigh as he continued.
  83.
  84. "It's good meetin'ya again. Congratulations on the rise to power but as I said I don't know anything about Vampires. Figured you where honest with me last we met and I'll put that out there now. Willin' to learn though." He paused for a moment as he pondered the woman. His last interactions with any sort of Royalty involved a fight to the death. He didn't intend to do that here in the slightest.
  85.
  86. "I have to say that I'm flattered at the invitation and in truth I was goin' talk to you again. Didn't think it'd be here... Right, to the point. I have skills and they're yours if you want to pay for them." He was a bit of a mercenary nowadays and things would be interesting around Asphodel. All he had to do was figure out where he fit in the cogs.
  87. (Lyulf Yayle)
  88. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  89.
  90. [19:00] Silently following the lead of those before her, the young drakanite entered the castle of Asphodel for the first time with a spark of curiosity in her eyes. She made sure to take in her surroundings as much as she could, though as the Queen took her place it would seem the ashen haired girl's attention needed to be refocused.
  91.
  92. With the woman's eyes upon her she would bow her head as she was addressed directly, a gesture of respect before she would speak. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you Queen."
  93.
  94. She would state initially before nodding at the first question that had been asked of her. "That's correct, I am."
  95.
  96. She stated simply. Her gaze remaining on the woman before her once the conversation had started, her undivided attention being given to the meeting at hand.
  97. (Ace Morgan)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99.
  100. [19:00] "Oh?"
  101.
  102. Araceli gazed upon Lyulf with a surprised expression. Most of those who came before her were already somewhat aware of what it was she provided.
  103.
  104. It would appear Ace was familiar, though for the moment the Queen focused upon Lyulf in particular.
  105.
  106. "Coin is an understandable ambition, mister Yayle, yet it fleeting, temporary. What good is it to have coin if your life will inevitably come to an end?"
  107.
  108. "You cannot take it with you, nor will it mean much of anything at the appointed hour."
  109.
  110. A shake of her head, as she pushed herself to a stand. Not one to remain idle in her throne, it would appear, instead pacing back and forth.
  111.
  112. "I have lived for centuries, free of the shackle of mortality which holds mankind at bay, keeping it from its true potential. It is through Cain that we are given freedom, it is through his blessing that we are afforded the opportunity to live a life everlasting."
  113.
  114. "Immortality, put bluntly."
  115.
  116. Something which would span more than just a few years, a blessing forever.
  117.
  118. "That is my counter-offer, mister Yayle. You cannot receive this blessing through the Empire, that much I can assure you. Do you truly wish to slave away for a machine that never once acknowledges your existence?"
  119.
  120. "Are you content with living a life in servitude to a government which only wishes efficiency from its people? A death in the name of what? Barsburg? When it cares for naught but self gain and bureaucracy?"
  121.
  122. A shake of her head.
  123.
  124. "You could craft a legacy that will last thousands of years, rather than that of one measly lifespan. The choice is ultimately yours, and all I ask for is recognition of my sovereignty, as well as blood tribute."
  125.
  126. Gaze snapping to Ace now, who appeared far more knowledgeable and agreeable.
  127.
  128. "That same offer is extended to you as well, miss Morgan."
  129. (Araceli Falkenrath)
  130. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  131.
  132. [19:00] Ace's own agreement had come readily and with no hesitation though she had the advantage over Lyulf of time to digest and know precisely what the offer given was. The Achyonite's hesitation was appreciated, however.
  133.
  134. Those that so freely gave their blood as the petitioners outside the castle were an untrustworthy sort that would take longer to truly discern their value among the society.
  135.
  136. A single nod was given toward Ace, then those black eyeholes turned upon Lyulf. "I was privileged by the Queen to scout and select prospects who would mesh with the ideals and goals of our family." A hand lifted from the cane to gesture to the two.
  137.
  138. "Both of you share something in common." He continued, "Each has been denied acknowledgement of your merits to those you served. Ace the Outlander, Lyulf the Private." His head shook side-to-side softly then that hand withdrew to the mask.
  139.
  140. "Hear the Queen's words and know that previously we have agreed on this very matter, there is more to life than the pursuit of gold. It is the pursuit that matters." He spoke as the hand tugged away at the mask sending white hair spilling down to frame a familiar Drakanite face.
  141.
  142. "You knew me as Kasai Shukun." Those orange irises flicked between each present before lingering on Ace, "But, I promise no more secrets at this meeting." He cleared his throat in finality.
  143.
  144. "I am Kassarus Falkenrath, Son by Cain's Blood to Queen Falkrenrath." The prince of Asphodel stood up straight, "And further I promise, purpose awaits you should you reach out and clutch your own destiny."
  145. (The Revenant)
  146. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  147.
  148. [19:00] The amber gaze of the drakanite followed the Queen as she rose from her seat while speaking. Her words met by silence as they continued on speaking on things both familiar to her ears and not. She turned her gaze to look at Lyulf wondering what was going through his mind through all of this, though carefully her gaze drifted back forward.
  149.
  150. Before anything could be said on her part it would seem a more familiar face. A smirk creased her features and a short chuckle left the Vanirhallan as the artist formerly known as Kasai Shukun made himself known. A few nods were given his way though her main attention would need to refocus on the white haired woman that stood before her.
  151.
  152. The offer had been made after all, though Ace had made up her mind on the matter some time ago. It was only a matter of patience and she had waited. "For what you offer Queen. You have my recognition as well as my blood as tribute." She would speak bowing her head once more for a moment, followed by a step forward in preparation for the discussed tribute. Having her mind made up before meeting made her few of words in the moment, though she figured to some degree it made things easier.
  153. (Ace Morgan)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. [19:00] Lyulf's eyes widened slightly as they listened to the tale of the Queen. In one breath she'd told him more about Vampires than most in the continent had any clue. A thoughtful expression shifted across his features as he pondered what they'd told him. Coin was nothing compared to an eternity of life that much was true. "Coin, wasn't really what was on my mind. However, you've hit what did interest me." His desires where bound within the interweaving twins of power and achievement.
  157.
  158. How much power could he gain if he became immortal? How many achievements could be pilled at his feet a millennia from now? Death when it came wasn't something to be feared. He'd accepted it long ago on his first battlefield but this conversation was about the chance for life. Life was the payment for his talents. He chuckled slightly as he took a deep breath of his pipe, exhaling the mixed herbs through his nostril.
  159.
  160. "One helluva counter-offer." Yet, he didn't accept. Not yet, he wasn't yet contented with it. After all his life was built upon the principle. No gods, no masters. What kind of hypocrite would he be if he accepted a master and a god in the same moment or would he even be one? What was a hypocrite in the span of eternity.
  161.
  162. His gaze trailed over towards the Revenant as they began to speak. Kasai, his lips pulled into a wide smirk as pieces fell into place. Of course he was involved in this intimately. From their first meeting it'd been clear the man was more than a simple sell-sword. Yet, he was right on so many levels.
  163.
  164. At the mention of private the gunslinger's lips pulled into a frown. Blood shed, bones broken, loved one's lost and for what? The machine wasn't interested in him. No, he was a cog that didn't fit anymore. Worn down and chipped. An axel that was ready to abdicate.
  165.
  166. Those eyes of gold shifted back to the Queen. "I've lived my life under a simple creed. No gods. No masters. You offer me both of those things in the same breath. You realize that don't you?" It was a rhetorical question and he didn't wait for an answer instead he took a step forwards, drawing his gun from it's holster. With a flick the weapon was tossed into the air and when it landed he held the barrel and offered the handle to Araceli. With a smirk he continued.
  167.
  168. "But as I said, anyone can be a great hunter with the right gun. I offer you one now, just don't make me regret it in a thousand years. Ya?" It was a bit of a parody of a Knight offering their sword to the sovereign and Lyulf wasn't a well-spoken noble but the sentiment was there. He'd accepted.
  169. (Lyulf Yayle)
  170. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  171.
  172. [19:00] Araceli listened to Lyulf's response quietly, in line with what she had expected, but not precisely. She had met many an individual who strayed from serving another, but-
  173.
  174. "Good things do not come easily, mister Yayle. There is always a price to pay, no matter what the circumstances are."
  175.
  176. The Queen would not be in a good spot if she gave away Cain's blessing as charity work, after all, and perhaps something he himself could understand.
  177.
  178. "But I accept your offer. All I ask in return is recognition of my rule, as well as your loyalty. You will be granted all that you seek and much more, in time."
  179.
  180. A reward for good service, so to speak.
  181.
  182. "I will not sire you myself, but Kasai here will, once I turn him."
  183.
  184. Something that would happen quite soon, and if he had difficulty she would find another vampire to be their sire. She was not the type to lie or go back on promises made, ultimately.
  185.
  186. Her gaze soon found its way to Ace, before nodding.
  187.
  188. "Very well, if you are both willing, you may step forth. Mister Yayle and miss Morgan, I will require an exposed area for the blood tribute, one which you can readily and easily hide."
  189.
  190. "Most offer their shoulder, but it is up to you."
  191. (Araceli Falkenrath)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193.
  194. [19:00] The mirth of a reaction from Ace combined with Lyulf's own smirk brought a mark of cheer to the Falkenrath's lips, slowly turning into his usual easy-going smile. He inclined his head toward them each in turn as the Queen revealed that he would be the one to sire the two into immortality.
  195.
  196. His hands returned atop his staff and he leaned upon it, once more falling silent as Araceli spoke to show the fealty that was due. He had laid out the line of trust and now it was upon them to reach out and grasp greatness.
  197.
  198. Briefly those fiery orange orbs flicked over toward the hooded man who had entered, but he awaited the Queen's own reaction to their arrival with his attention instead remaining on the two new members of the family.
  199. (Kassarus Falkenrath)
  200. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  201.
  202. [19:00] A figure cloaked in black and a tailored, trim-cut suited top made his way through the halls of the castle, steps confident yet near silenced in his ascent up the steps. Beneath the shadow of his hood do jade green eyes glance to Araceli in acknowledgement, a light pull of his smile beneath...
  203.
  204. …and then he takes a seat!
  205.
  206. "Comfortable. You did good work with this place," the Docro commented, gloved hands inspecting the dark stone beneath his touch.
  207. (Alexei pyr Docro)
  208. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  209.
  210. [19:00] Tartarus would enter without much fanfare, offering a bowed head and dipped hand in a regal gesture of respect to those seated before finding his way to the back ball with Kassarus. A steward's work was never done, doubly so in the Task's case. It was no normal castle to manage after all. Perhaps they needed some maids.
  211. (Tartarus Task)
  212. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  213.
  214. [19:00] He flicked his wrist and allowed the gun to spin in his hand before it was re-holstered. The sound of mithril sliding against leather could be heard softy, his gaze flicked between Kasai and Araceli. Not how he'd expected to spend his evening and not how he'd expected to be greeted by those of the Asphodel.
  215.
  216. If anything Kasai was proof that service was rewarded. So, his mind was put at ease more than it had been if they'd been someone else standing there. "You've my loyalty, my recognition. I gave my youth to Achyon's Hand and now I give my adulthood to Asphodel." He'd served his required five years in the military and now he was ready to offer his service to another agency. Another government but perhaps the monarchy could offer more than the Machine.
  217.
  218. He then took the stepforward's and wondered for a moment. Somewhere that couldn't be seen? Well, the shoulder seemed like a good enough spot so why re-invent the wheel. His hand came up and he started to unbutton his shirt and pulled it to the side. Revealing his left shoulder to the vampire. After all if anything went wrong he wanted to protect his dominant arm.
  219. (Lyulf Yayle)
  220. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  221.
  222. [19:00] Her gaze shifted once more towards Kasai as he was mentioned. A few thoughts rifled through her mind though none of any true meaning to her. Another nod was made. "I see, makes sense." She would note, being a woman of few words in circumstances like this.
  223.
  224. It would become time for a tribute to be made though and that was something done easily enough. Even more so once the commonly offered method was made none. She loosened her armor slightly with a few tugs of her collar. Each one exposing more of the tattoos that covered parts of her form.
  225.
  226. Eventually a tug would be made to expose part of her right shoulder that was without any sort of marking and as such was offered forward with a nod.
  227.
  228.
  229. (Ace Morgan)
  230. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  231.
  232. [19:00] "Greetings, mister pyr Docro."
  233.
  234. A nod in his direction, noting his entrance immediately. They had spoke of this vision only a short while ago, and now it was coming to fruition before their very eyes.
  235.
  236. Followers ready to serve the kingdom, and there were far more earlier.
  237.
  238. "Do make yourself comfortable. The man on my right is.. my son, you could say. Mister Kassarus, someone I intend to turn in the future."
  239.
  240. It was not often that she sought to make her own vampire, and had been more selective in which humans she would personally take under her wing. Kassarus' loyalty would be repaid in time, however.
  241.
  242. Attention then returning to the two in front of herself, first moving towards Lyulf.
  243.
  244. "From this moment forth I will be your Queen. If you ever require anything, you need only let me know."
  245.
  246. Lips parting to reveal sharp fangs, as she leaned forth to bite into his offered left shoulder. The vampiric effect taking hold of the area near instantly, as she extracted the blood in slow fashion.
  247.
  248. The area surrounding the bite turning a purplish hue, though it would heal in time.
  249.
  250. "Mm. Now-"
  251.
  252. Her gaze shifting to Ace, though not moving to take her blood just yet.
  253.
  254. "I apologize, miss Morgan, but 'makes sense' will not cut it. I require loyalty, I require recognition of my sovereignty as Queen. I will require you to swear fealty to me, to vow as Lyulf has with offering his gun."
  255.
  256. "Could you do that for me?"
  257.
  258. Araceli pausing, before taking the moment to withdraw a dagger, ritualistic in nature. Running it alongside her right palm, before offering the blood to Kassarus.
  259. (Araceli Falkenrath)
  260. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  261.
  262. [19:00] ** Araceli Falkenrath has inflicted an injury upon Lyulf Yayle. ("Vampire Bite", "Puncture wounds congeal with distorted energy, resonant with depraved power that keeps the infliction from fully closing. A poison spreads in feverish decay throughout your body that harshly hinders the healing process.", "Temporary", "") **
  263. [19:00] The promise made by the Achyonite was more than sufficient and amusing in how it mirrored his own- Minus the part where he had demanded some proof of these wild claims, but now the castle and the rumors surrounding it served more sufficiently than a dimly lit basement office.
  264.
  265. He offered a polite bow of his head toward the Docro his 'mother' greeted before similarly turning a more authoritative and approving nod in response to Lyulf's promise as it was accepted by the Queen.
  266.
  267. His gaze lingered on Ace, an ashen eyebrow raising at the woman until the blood was offered out. His gloved hand took the woman's own and his drank hungrily and far more preoccupied.
  268.
  269. It was the drug he was most fond of despite that list being numerous. His heartbeat slowed as his senses reached a heightened state that even Sylvanum could not achieve.
  270.
  271. If he focused he could hear the thump of the hearts of those present, all save for Araceli, and practically smell as their sanguine blood flowed through their veins.
  272.
  273. He withdrew licking his teeth so that none of the precious gift was spared, "It is to Cain that we give thanks for your graceful offering, my lady." He spoke as he withdrew, the sacred words so crucial to the ritual.
  274. (Kassarus Falkenrath)
  275. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  276.
  277. [19:00] The Don arriving almost surprised him but in truth? Well, power congregated with power. It just made sense that as the slumbering kingdom of Asphodel rose in the east he would have a hand in it. Still, when his attention returned to Araceli.
  278.
  279. "It'll be done, Queen Falkenreath." He'd almost slipped up and said Vellier there. Now that would have been an embarrassing showing. Though, when the fangs where on display and they pushed forwards to bite into him? Well, he couldn't help but flinch slightly. It was unsettling to say the least never-mind the effects it might have on him.
  280.
  281. Still, a bit of pain and discomfort was nothing to him. As she stepped away he would take a step back and let Ace have the floor. After all it was their chance to find a purpose and he'd move out of the way to make sure they had the spot-light in this moment.
  282. (Lyulf Yayle)
  283. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  284.
  285. [19:00] Tartarus would cross his stump over his chest in salute to Araceli as he lowered his head in a bow, the steward of the castle puffing softly on his cigar as he glanced between the sharply dressed, black hooded figure in the throne to Araceli's side, and his adoptive mother in the center. Glancing from the very back of the room, it truly did feel like an expansive court of regality; a bastion just waiting for courtiers to bask in the influence of the crimson court.
  286.
  287. The bear would hum at that. This was what she had offered, wasn't it? He'd had money, power, a quiet life. But she'd given him something he'd been desperately vacant of.
  288.
  289. A purpose, something to build as a monolith to all their efforts.
  290.
  291. As the smoke rose over his head, Tartarus' grin was spread ear to ear with another bow of his head.
  292.
  293. "Few royal lines have as much standing, baring, and age to their veracity. Consider it your luck that you'vethe opportunity to swear fealty to a true monarch, not a puppet or a farce."
  294. (Tartarus Task)
  295. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  296.
  297. [19:00] Amber hues would flutter for a moment before her brow rose slightly. "Apologies, I meant that more in reference towards Kasai being the one to sire." She would clarify herself more clearing her throat a bit. She had assumed that her willingness and previous declaration was what was wanted but the lack of words came as a detriment.
  298.
  299. "I swear my loyalty to you and as I have said I recognize your sovereignty. There are few things more important to my people then vows and oaths. My word is my bond."
  300.
  301. She would say with a nod still holding her shoulder exposed and forward waiting. Her gaze shifting towards those that had begun to move about the castle now though ultimately her gaze would fall back to the Queen and rest there awaiting her words and actions.
  302. (Ace Morgan)
  303. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  304.
  305. [19:00] A studious stare is faint within his hood and an amused fox's grin, and it's not longer before he leans back with the fold of leg over the other. One finger taps against his signet ring in a light drumming motion.
  306.
  307. "Once you're done herding the sheep, there's a few things I'd like to talk to you about, my Lady Araceli."
  308. (Alexei pyr Docro)
  309. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  310.
  311. [19:00] "You needn't worry, miss Morgan, I am just the type to likes to hear the vow, and discern whether or not it is genuine."
  312.
  313. The Queen was a woman who valued honesty and loyalty above all else, especially in these sort of dealings. Those upon Esshar would submit.. one way or another.
  314.
  315. The first step was gathering followers, and to that end they had been rather successful thus far.
  316.
  317. "It is to Cain that we give thanks for this bountiful offering."
  318.
  319. Leaning in towards the exposed shoulder of Ace, before fangs sank into tender flesh. Blood extracted, and the wound inflicted not healing, extremely painful in nature.
  320.
  321. Something that would heal in a year or so, no doubt.
  322.
  323. "Thank you both."
  324.
  325. With the blood extracted, she took a step back, before seating herself atop her throne once more.
  326.
  327. "I look forward to working with the both of you. I assure you that our cause is far more meaningful than anything Barsburg or the Vanirhallans can come up with, with many more rewards to reap."
  328.
  329. "Was there anything either of you needed at the moment? We will have construction done to make this more of a town, but that won't be for a while."
  330.
  331. Gaze shifting towards Alexei, before chuckling. She would never personally call her followers 'sheep,' but she could only hope those before her would understand his sense of humor.
  332.
  333. "Yes, I will be available after this is finished."
  334. (Araceli Falkenrath)
  335. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  336.
  337. [19:00]
  338. Tartarus would bow his head at that, straightening his coat and assembly of finery as he prepared to depart with another respectful gesture to Araceli and the hooded fellow.
  339.
  340. "I shall not interrupt your more important business my lady. You know how to reach me if you've immediate need of me. I should attempt to at least be as busy as you with these idle hands."
  341.
  342. A steady nod at that as the one handed sniper prepared to depart.
  343.
  344. "In the meantime, I can continue to work on replacing my hand, that I might no longer shame you with my appearance as your steward. A queen should not have a cripple by their side."
  345.
  346. Another bow at that.
  347. (Tartarus Task)
  348. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  349.
  350. [19:00] Lyulf brushed off being called a sheep. He'd been called a cog his whole life after all. He simply shook his head at the question of needing anything. "A bottle of rum to dull the shoulder." It was a joke clearly but with a nod of his head and then a pause. Offering a half-bow instead of just the nod to Aracelli.
  351.
  352. "I'll go find that myself though." Now that the business was done he didn't seem intent on loitering within the throne room. He took a few steps away before looking to Tartarus. What odd hands the Queen had recruited in her time. Finally he turned away and the sound of his heavy-leather boots echoing off the stones could be heard as he departed.
  353. (Lyulf Yayle)
  354. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  355.
  356. [19:00] That comment brought a flick of the eyes toward the hooded man yet his mother did not seek to refute the potential slight and ultimately his will was hers to decide. He would have wholeheartedly agreed with the commentary on the procession outside, however.
  357.
  358. Now that the vows were accepted Kassarus offered a restrained smile to each with no stain of blood present upon his teeth. They did not earn any further nods, but his relief and pleasure mingled in the gaze he set upon them.
  359.
  360. "It is good to welcome you both to the family." His hands remained resting atop the bulbous end of his cane. "My lady, do you wish privacy in this meeting?" He asked softly his head canting toward Tartarus.
  361.
  362. Often they were kept about as a sign of status and strength during such meetings yet things were changing now. Better to ask in redundancy than to blunder in ignorance.
  363. (Kassarus Falkenrath)
  364. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  365.
  366. [19:00] "Understandable."
  367.
  368. She would state initially before the bite was taken. Honesty and loyalty were, of course, very valuable commodities. Especially when dealing with matters like this. Her head would bow slightly once she withdrew and a step of her own would be taken back. There would come a short shake of her head. "No, I don't believe I require anything else."
  369.
  370. A glance was made over towards the Don. Perhaps his comments did get under her skin, but not to a degree that anything more then a glance in his direction was made. Her amber hues resting back on the Queen. "I look forward to working with you as well... I will leave you to your business until then."
  371.
  372. With little else she would turn and begin to make her way out in the same fashion as Lyulf though her steps would fade a lot quicker as she lifted into the air and began to hover out the threshold instead. Why walk when one could fly?
  373. (Ace Morgan)
  374. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  375.
  376. [19:00] "I do wish to speak with the both of you privately another time, if you find the time."
  377.
  378. The Queen had not been able to rest since the announcement, but she much enjoyed being busy rather than bored within the Waystone.
  379.
  380. Not to mention the blood supply was far more exquisite and bountiful.
  381.
  382. "I do not yet have adequate quarters here, so we can meet within the meeting room Alexei."
  383.
  384. Coming to a stand now, gaze shifting back to her retainers.
  385.
  386. "The two of you are free to do as you will. If any of you four find those who you think would be good fits in our kingdom just let me know, and try to recruit them. There is strength to be found in numbers."
  387.
  388. A nod, before she prepared to move off to meet with the Don.
  389. (Araceli Falkenrath)
  390. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  391.
  392. [19:00] Tartarus Task says, "Of course. As ever, I am your eyes and ears."
  393. [19:00] Tartarus Task says, "Back to drinking Kas. I'll be at the Stone."
  394. [19:00] Tartarus would poof away in a puff of smoke at that. Magic.
  395. (Tartarus Task)
