quickish message

Haven't done this in a while. I know a lot of people probably scrolled past this, but I have a couple of things on my mind I feel like sharing.

My return to speedrunning might not have surprised anyone, but it surprised me. It surprised me in that I was welcomed back by everyone I've interacted with since. I couldn't believe that I really did make an impact in peoples' lives, albeit online. I would like to thank you all for this. There are jerks out there, but they can't and never will impact my life as much as you all.

Today wasn't my best day for a stream. I spent all morning practicing Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City, yet I failed to complete a run of the game. First 12 Hour Challenge I ever failed. Was it a waste of my time? Not necessarily. Yeah, I lost 8 hours that could've been spent on something else, but I was having fun. Spending a lot of time on something and failing to produce something great from it is always frustrating, but it's a part of life. Succeeding at everything would be boring.

I feel like people who speedrun often forget about what video games are about in the first place. Video games are meant to entertain. It really sucks that people have become elitists and try to shove their views down others' throats, but I wish we could try to change that. People rage at games because of failure, but if they were enjoying themselves, why get angry? And if you're not enjoying yourself, why continue doing what you're doing?

Will I ever finish a run of Chaos in the Windy City? Maybe. Can't say for sure. The important note is this: it's for ME to decide. Never let anyone try to influence you into doing something you don't wanna do. Does that bother them? Good. Let it. This is something I as well as others need to work on.
