Okay, I shouldn't say slave, but how about indentured servants? I do want to change my situation, there just doesnt seem to be a way to. I do work and put forth effort to change my circumstances, hence the whole degree thing. I've also put forth effort to change the rat race mentality America is stuck in. I've literally protested in Washington D.C. I implement the concept of breaking free in some the writing I do for certain websites. I educate people wherever possible or wanted. There IS a solution where noone works SHITTY jobs for SHITTY pay, while also maintaining a quality of life, we just won't embrace it as people. Hint: it may be a trigger word for many of you who might've grown up during the Cold War. Maybe will change with technological advancements, but it'll be tough before then. Let's say a vast majority of shitty jobs are taken over by automation. A huge chunk of the population is now unemployed. What, is everyone just going to starve to death now? I don't put it past the government to theoretically let anyone starve to death, it happens all the time, but we're talking masses of people. Something will HAVE to change then...

Yeah, I get it there are things in place to help you be lazy, government handouts, but really, they aren't that good from what I've seen, and they don't give you any quality of life, just the basics to survive. This is starting to sound a bit like slavery though, isn't it? I'm not comparing working conditions to BLACK slavery or any ethnic group, by the way, but, our lives are similar to general slavery. We work for the basic needs to survive, we must work even harder for somebody in order to achieve any quality of life. If you don't fit into a given field of work, tough titties, you should possess marketable skills, you need to earn your keep. Like I said, I never asked to be born, and neither did slaves. I'm not asking for a hand out and I've obviously conceded to playing this capitalist game, as you can tell from the advice I've heeded from other comments. I'm just saying, it IS like slavery, and why we continue to embrace these ideals is fucking bonkers. We've become machines.
