  1. [M4F] Remember When We Swung our Legs? [Let’s Swing our Legs Part 2] [Living with Cancer] [Emotional] [Wholesome] [Cute] [I’m not sure if I’m ready to go] [I’m sorry that you’ll have to lose me] [2 Endings]
  2.
  3. It’s been a couple of months since that night on the rooftop. Week after week you’ve witnessed your boyfriend’s health deteriorate and slowly succumb to his lung cancer. As a last resort effort to extend his life, surgery has been proposed and he accepts the proposal to fulfill your wish of fighting till the end... Before the surgery, you visit him for maybe the last time to wish him luck.
  4.
  5. [start]
  6.
  7. SFX: EKG machine beeping, door opening
  8.
  9. Good evening…
  10.
  11. Did you get food yet?
  12.
  13. Not for me! You know that I can’t do that. Did you get food for you to eat?
  14.
  15. Well, it’s going to be important if you’re going to be here for 12 hours at a time.
  16.
  17. You really shouldn’t be taking days off work just to be with me.
  18.
  19. You have a life outside of me.
  20.
  21. But I still think it’s sweet that you care so much.
  22.
  23. What did you get for yourself?
  24.
  25. The classic egg sandwich, did you get that from the cafe in the lobby?
  26.
  27. That place is amazing, I shouldn’t be eating anything from there, but you know me.
  28.
  29. I like to bend the rules sometimes.
  30.
  31. But I’m good now.
  32.
  33. You know, they placed a temporary camera right outside my door just because of that night on the rooftop. They also locked the door to the roof. It was 100% worth it.
  34.
  35. What else is here worth relaxing in? The garden? With its fake plastic plants?
  36.
  37. How is your sister doing? Tell her I said hi. She’s so adorable. I remember playing house with her before you came home from work. Well, now she could play doctor. [chuckle]
  38.
  39. Hey… remember this blanket? The same one that I brought up with me that night. I’ve kinda kept it as a souvenir ever since. You can sleep with it if you’re going to stay overnight.
  40.
  41. Of course, you are.
  42.
  43. I’ll go and turn off the lig-
  44.
  45. You really aren’t going to let me do that?
  46.
  47. You’re right, I need rest, go ahead and turn off the lights.
  48.
  49. But could I at least turn on the lamp?
  50.
  51. I got them to bring in a new chair for you.
  52.
  53. You don’t have to use that bus chair anymore.
  54.
  55. It’s nice and soft, too bad I can't sit in it with you.
  56.
  57. I’m not going to sit on your lap no matter how much I want to right now.
  58.
  59. I’ll look like a dead baby in your lap. [chuckle]
  60.
  61. And you would crush me if you sat in my lap.
  62.
  63. I would much rather prefer the good old days in your bed.
  64.
  65. My bed was tiny, still is. We wouldn’t fit and I wouldn’t even sleep in that bed half of the time.
  66.
  67. Spending most of my nights on this pile of shit they call a bed.
  68.
  69. We could still watch something like the good old days.
  70.
  71. Maybe something different than a Rom-com?
  72.
  73. Okay, okay fine, just this one for tonight. Then anything else. Okay?
  74.
  75. I know you’re going to fall asleep first anyways.
  76.
  77. Not a very good overnight protector [chuckle]
  78.
  79. It’s kinda sad not seeing you flinch after I make jokes anymore.
  80.
  81. At least you’re still as clingy as you used to be.
  82.
  83. I know I act as if I hate it… but I secretly kinda like it.
  84.
  85. But I’m sure you already knew that.
  86.
  87. I’m as good as I possibly can feel at the moment.
  88.
  89. Maybe not physically but I’m with you.
  90.
  91. You like the decorations on the window?
  92.
  93. The ones you’re mom got me for Christmas. It’s a nice gift.
  94.
  95. I’m not lying!
  96.
  97. It would be kinda funny if they brought a Christmas tree into my room.
  98.
  99. It wouldn’t be the only thing in this room that would light up.
  100.
  101. I mean I don’t expect my parents to get me anything. They’re paying for all this.
  102.
  103. What else would get a kid that’s going to be dying in no time.
  104.
  105. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bring that up.
  106.
  107. [pause]
  108.
  109. This fucking machine is annoying the shit out of me.
  110.
  111. All it fucking does is beep.
  112.
  113. Yeah, I know it monitors my heart, I can see it.
  114.
  115. I’m sick of this place. I just wanna leave. I wanna pack up my things, rip this shit off my chest and be with you. Somewhere else other than this bland ass room.
  116.
  117. I want to experience what it’s like to be outside again. I want to experience another day of sun.
  118.
  119.
  120. I know how much you want it to.
  121.
  122. It’s so hard to keep fighting when all you fucking see is the same shit every fucking day.
  123.
  124. Look at what I do every day, I lay here waiting for you, watching the fucking news.
  125.
  126. All to lose in the end.
  127.
  128. What a life.
  129.
  130. And what about that surgery tomorrow?
  131.
  132. That shit is just a shot in the dark.
  133.
  134. And even if I do survive them taking out my fucking lung, what’s my life going to be like then?
  135.
  136. I don’t care if It’s going to give me a couple more months.
  137.
  138. I’ll still just be stuck here, living the same life in this room.
  139.
  140. It’s hard to accept that this is my home until I die. I’m sorry.
  141.
  142. I love you but I’m sorry.
  143.
  144. I’m sorry that you’ll have to lose me.
  145.
  146. Imagining you having to put your life on pause just to witness me die is…
  147.
  148. It’s hard to watch.
  149.
  150. I’m not going to give up!
  151.
  152. I’m doing this for you.
  153.
  154. The one reason why I’m here is because of you.
  155.
  156. But if I die, I’ll be right behind those big blue doors.
  157.
  158. And I’ll know that you were beside me throughout everything.
  159.
  160. Is that what you want?
  161.
  162. I don’t know what I did to deserve this, I’m so sorry that you have to deal with it.
  163.
  164. I’m sorry that I fucked up your life
  165.
  166. I’m sorry that we’ll never have a future with each other.
  167.
  168. I’m sorry that we’ll never grow old together.
  169.
  170. I’m sorry that I’ll never be able to get down one knee and ask you to be mine forever.
  171.
  172. I’m sorry that I’ll never be able to see you walk down the aisle through the pretty flowers on the ground and kiss you.
  173.
  174. I’m sorry that we’ll never be able to see our children.
  175.
  176. And I’m sorry that I fell in love with you.
  177.
  178. Even with that, I’m so happy that you’re here with me
  179.
  180. I’m so happy that you’ve decided to be in my life.
  181.
  182. I’m so happy that we’ve made the most of what we can throughout my life.
  183.
  184. I’m so happy that I’ve made memories with you.
  185.
  186. Remember when we took videos and walked through the park?
  187.
  188. Remember when I used to cuddle you back to sleep after a hard day of work?
  189.
  190. Remember when we swung our legs?
  191.
  192. Remember when we didn’t know I was dying?
  193.
  194. Remember when… don’t cry
  195.
  196. [pause]
  197.
  198. I’m not sure if I’m ready to go…
  199.
  200. You’ve made me feel so free like I haven’t been stuck to this bed for the past couple of years.
  201.
  202. I may look back at my life and regret the things I’ve said or done but I will never regret the things that I’ve felt, the things that you’ve made me feel.
  203.
  204. You made me believe in love. And I knew it was love when I knew I’d feel lost if I ever lost you.
  205.
  206. [listener hugs]
  207.
  208. Your hugs never get old
  209.
  210. And your hair still smells just as good.
  211.
  212. I’ll try to go sleep now but
  213.
  214. No matter what happens tomorrow.
  215.
  216. Whether I’m back here in this bed or only on your picture frame.
  217.
  218. I love you.
  219.
  220. And you’ve made my life amazing. Thank you.
  221.
  222. Ending 1: Death
  223.
  224. SFX: you may use voicemail effects
  225.
  226. (EKG Flatline and fade out)
  227.
  228. Hi…
  229.
  230. I’m recording this on the night that we swung our legs.
  231.
  232. And I’m leaving this here on my phone so when I… die
  233.
  234. This message gets to you.
  235.
  236. I’m sorry.
  237.
  238. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to hold on and that I wasn’t able to spend more time with you
  239.
  240. At least I fought till the end right? [small chuckle]
  241.
  242. I can’t believe that I’m dead.
  243.
  244. I hope that I’ll be able to see you in the afterlife if there is one. Cause I’ll be waiting patiently for you.
  245.
  246. I hope you find someone else, and you can have the future that you couldn’t have with me.
  247.
  248. Someone that can play games with your sister, someone that you can actually take a walk with.
  249.
  250. Someone that can sing you to sleep like the old days.
  251.
  252. Because now, I’ll only be the memory of someone confessing to you over a phone call while you were listening, I’ll only be the memory of someone that sang you to sleep after a long day. I’ll just be the memory of the boyfriend that you had to watch die...
  253.
  254. I’ll miss you but promise you’ll live a good life.
  255.
  256. Goodbye…
  257.
  258. [end]
  259.
  260. Ending 2: Alive
  261.
  262. Note: You may now use a clear voice as if you were no longer as sick as before.
  263.
  264. SFX: as if you were in the park on a sunny day.
  265.
  266. Good morning!
  267.
  268. [groan like you just sat down on the ground]
  269.
  270. I see that you have already pulled out the tarp and all the food.
  271.
  272. You don’t have to carry everything by yourself anymore you know?
  273.
  274. I have one only lung but I’m getting stronger.
  275.
  276. Plus you know I’m going to eat everything you don’t.
  277.
  278. You said your family’s gonna be coming over soon?
  279.
  280. Does that include your Hazel?
  281.
  282. Love that little punk.
  283.
  284. Well, might as well enjoy the time we have alone.
  285.
  286. Yeah, sure we can take a little walk…
  287.
  288. [groan like you were getting off the ground]
  289.
  290. How about we do that same path when I first met you?
  291.
  292. Hopefully, we meet another frog.
  293.
  294. Let’s go spend the rest of our lives together…
  295.
  296. [end]
  297.
  298.
