We all know that Bert Karlsson is a Swedish record manager, company director, publisher, host and a former politician, but not many of us actually know about his past and his work. There is a lot you can learn just by looking at one person’s past, which is why it is important that you also know a bit about your favorite theme park and the creator. If you are not from Sweden there is a chance you have never even heard of Bert Karlsson, which is why you should read a bit about him before proceeding.
Bert Karlsson was born on June 21, 1945, in Tidan Götlunda Assembly, into a small house and a humble family. Even though he is known as a former politician, he was never really interested in the political views, as he prefers to spend more time entertaining, which is why ever since 1994, he was not politically active. He spent five years in a school house together with his family, and when he turned nine they moved to a different place to support his father’s work.
His father’s name was Gunnar Karlsson and he was an electrician and a warehouse manager, while his mother Agnes Karlsson was a seamstress at home, after which she decided to get a better job at the Press Office. Bert Karlsson describes his childhood as ‘fun and normal’, and by his stories, you can tell that it’s true. In 1967, he decided to marry a gorgeous woman named Britt-Marie, and as the settled in the late 1960s, they decided to start a family of their own, raising two children.
Today, Bert Karlsson is known for many different roles, and most of our children know him because of the Skara Summerland. He founded this amazing park in 1984, and it is located 8km east of Skara. While at the beginning it was supposed to be just an attraction, in 2001 they included the Parks and Resorts as well, where tourists can stay for their vacation. The park is so popular that it is visited by over 300.000 annual guests, and is known as the largest amusement park. In addition, Skara park also offers a huge campground with space for over 800 caravans and 300 cabins.
There are many different opinions when it comes to Bert Karlsson himself, because of his political movements and beliefs, but overall he is a family man. He opened up this park just to make us happy, and we should be grateful that he did. Today, Skara Summerland is known to bring joy to many tourists as it offers a lot of incredible rides that you will not be able to see anywhere else.
