- Dragon Ball Anime Remake Chapter Coverage 10.0
- Based on Dragon Ball © Toriyama Akira
- Concept by JulieYBM
- Welcome to the tenth iteration of the Dragon Ball Anime Remake Chapter Coverage. Over the years this series has attempted various ways of organizing the original Dragon Ball comic’s 519 chapters into a short, tight and compact series on the level of series like Hajime No Ippo (which covered 279 chapters in 75 episodes), Bleach (which covered 181 chapters in Episodes #1-63) or some of the best arcs of Naruto. For this go the project shall attempt a looser approach to adapting less by literal copying of panels and more through covering based on the general plot outline. Kyouto Animation and other late night animated series producers have shown that a lot can be covered in just a single cour of episodes, so for all intents and purposes, similar shall be attempted here.
- Episodes are presented in the format of a modern 24-minute Japanese animated series’ episode. Structure plays a big part in allowing modern anime to not necessarily always show the A-to-B linear fashion of a story.
- The Hunt for the Dragon Balls:
- Episode #1: “Blooma & Son Gokuu”
- •Chapters: 1-4
- •A shadowy figure with a monkey’s tail runs and leaps through the mountains and the forests. The figure doffs his clothes to reveal that it is indeed a boy. The boy uses his tail to fish, lures his prey, and then successfully kills the giant fish he has reeled in with a kick. The boy drags the giant fish off.
- •Title Card: “Blooma & Son Gokuu” written in the open eyes of the dead fish.
- •A-Part: A young girl drives a jeep through the mountains. The radio plays a snazzy tune. The screen of the stereo reads ‘01 September Age 749’. Following her Dragon Radar, the girl accidentally crashes into the boy, who introduces himself as Son Gokuu. Son Gokuu invites the girl back to his hut where she learns that he has possession of the Four-Star Dragon Ball, a memento of his grandfather. Blooma convinces ‘Son-kun’ to join her on her quest to gather the seven Dragon Balls so as to summon the dragon god Shen Long and have a wish granted. “I already have the Two-Star Ball!” Blooma, of course, isn’t sure if she wants strawberries or a boyfriend, while Gokuu doesn’t really have any desires. Gokuu and Blooma begin their journey.
- •Opening: Gokuu and Blooma traversing rivers, mountains and forests by motorbike.
- •B-Part: Gokuu and Blooma come across a sea turtle about to be cooked alive by a giant bear bandit. Blooma tells Gokuu to not get involved, but the sea turtle—Umigame—begs Gokuu to save his life. “My master can reward you!” he claims. Blooma instantly changes her mind—not before Gokuu can begin untying Umigame—and tells Gokuu to hurry up and try to free the sea turtle. Just as the trio are about to sneak off, the bear bandit returns from retrieving water and attacks them. Gokuu defeats the towering titan in short order. At the beach, Umigame thanks Gokuu for saving him and promises to return in the morning with the Kame-sen’nin to reward him. Blooma sets up her Hoi-Poi Capsule house on the beach. That night, Gokuu and Blooma bathe. After they go to sleep, Gokuu is shocked to learn that Blooma “has no balls” after trying to rest his head on her lap, finding it flat and then removing her panties as she sleeps. The next morning, Blooma awakens to the sight of a lecherous old man standing over her. Blooma freaks out and tells Gokuu to defend her. Gokuu leaps into action, but the old man effortlessly parries his attacks. “You’ve earned my respect as a martial artist, Old Tmer!” Blooma is incredulous, “He tried to do lewd things to me!” The old man wipes the blood from his nose—Gokuu never hit him in the nose, though—and retorts “I was merely trying to awaken you so as to reward you for saving my dear friend, Umigame-chan! You folks are heavy dreamers!” (The old bastard is probably lying). Blooma redirects her vision to Umigame, standing beside him. “You’re the Kame-sen’nin?!” Blooma is aghast. After they get the introductions out of the way the Kame-sen’nin presents Gokuu with the flying cloud ‘Kinto’un’ upon which he may soar through the skies if he is pure hearted enough. Gokuu has no trouble leaping atop the yellow cloud, leading Umigame to remind the most chagrined Kame-sen’nin that not even he can do that! Blooma asks for a reward too, but the Kame-sen’nin counters that he was told only the boy tried to save his friend. Blooma notices the Three-Star on a necklace around the Kame-sen’nin’s neck and begs for it. The Kame-sen’nin agrees to relent should the young girl show him her panties. “Shenanigans like these are why you can’t ride the Kinto’un!” chimes in Umigame. Blooma readily acquiesces, “I thought you’d want to do something way lewder, like Puff-Puff me!” Blooma readily lifts her night gown, bequeathing upon the Kame-sen’nin and his monk-like turtle ‘Heaven’. Straightening his posture and presenting a stern face, the Kame-sen’nin hands over his Dragon Ball, turns his back and says, “Come, Umigame-kun, we’re going home.” Clearly, the Kame-sen’nin is counting his blessings.
- •Ending: Gokuu flies around on the Kinto’un across the beach and open sea. Riding atop Umigame as they head back home, the Kame-sen’nin stretches a bruised hand from deflecting Gokuu’s attacks. “That boy’s strength is incredible, but his technique is quite nostalgic…” Blooma turns from watching Gokuu having his fun with Kinto’un and re-enters the house with a smile. The camera pans up to the brightly burning sun as their three Dragon Balls fly into it.
- •“Oh, no!” cries Blooma as she changes out of her night gown, “I’m not wearing any panties!”
- Episode #2: “Yamcha the Desert Bandit (Part 1)”
- •Chapters: 5-9
- •Gokuu and Blooma explore a village that seems devoid of life. Gokuu enters a house and is attacked from behind by an ax swung upon his head!
- •Opening:
- •Gokuu survives the ax attack with only a mild headache. The assailant turns out to be a father afraid that the transforming demon Oolong has come to steal his daughter to be his bride. Blooma gets a devious idea: “How about a little trade?” she grins.
- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: With the Six-Star Ball in the foreground, held in the palm of the father’s hand, the father says: “I still can’t believe this little ball can grant wishes.” Meanwhile, in the background of said close-up shot, Gokuu struggles to put on a dress. Gokuu is none-too-hot on being made to dress up as a girl to take the place of the bride-to-be, but once Oolong appears Gokuu has no problem facing down the shape-shifter. Oolong realizes that Gokuu is actually strong and tries to escape, but Gokuu gives chase on Kinto’un. Gokuu eventually catches Oolong after his transformation time runs out and returns to his normal form…a pig boy. Oolong apologizes and reveals that he can’t really control the girls he has been periodically kidnapping. In fact, they’re making him into their errand boy while they live a life of luxury at his mansion.
- •B-Part: Gokuu leaps through a jungle by tree, keeping his eyes locked on the river below. Stalking his prey, Gokuu dangles a pair of cute girls’ panties above the river. A fish jumps out of the water to steal the panties, but has already fallen into Gokuu’s trap. Gokuu grabs the fish with silent swiftness. Later, Gokuu, Blooma and Oolong traverse the desert…by foot. Oolong complains about being hot, to which Blooma counters that if he hadn’t tried to run away she wouldn’t have dropped her case of Capsules in the river. “Why the hell would I want to go to Mount Frypan, home of the Gyuu-maou?!” retorts Oolong. Ignoring the pig, Blooma commences to whine about being tired, hot, hungry, dirty and otherwise displeased. Gokuu says they should “Just consider it a part of training!” completely aloof to how different their priorities are. Oolong sighs, puts his hands in his pocket, and feels something he was not expecting. “Oh, that’s right!” Oolong pulls out an M-size Capsule and it transforms into a luxury RV camper! “Yay!” cheers Blooma. “I don’t suppose you’ll ‘fela-fela’ me?” asks Oolong deviously. Blooma slaps Oolong into the camera. Elsewhere, Desert Bandits Yamcha & Pu-erh spot new prey from their base. “They’ve got a pretty pricey RV. That’s sure to fetch a lot of money!” says Pu-erh. Yamcha agrees, although he might just keep it for their pleasure. Yamcha brings out his Jet Momonga and the two bandits ride it off into the distance. At night, Blooma readies to take a shower and reminds Oolong not to peek. Oolong hands over juice—after putting sleeping powder into said juice—to Gokuu and Blooma as an olive branch. Blooma enjoys the juice and then heads to the shower. Gokuu explains the Dragon Balls to Oolong while Yamcha and Pu-erh overhear from the outside. Yamcha tells Pu-erh that they now have a change of plans. They’re going to steal the Dragon Balls and Dragon Radar and use them to achieve his ultimate goal!
- •Ending:
- •Blooma washes herself in the shower but begins to steadily doze off.
- Episode #3: “Yamcha the Desert Bandit (Part 2)”
- •Chapters: 10-12
- •Yamcha and Pu-erh sneak into the RV camper. Gokuu is passed out on the couch while the other two are nowhere in sight. Yamcha tells Pu-erh to keep an eye on the brat (Gokuu) while he searches for the Dragon Balls. Pu-erh cocks his shot gun in reply.
- •Opening:
- •Yamcha sifts through the RV looking for his prizes. Opening a door, Yamcha is flabbergasted to find a pig boy standing over…a naked and unconscious girl! Yamcha shrieks, startling everyone and he and Pu-erh make a run for it as the girl begins to stir.
- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: The next morning, Blooma awakens to find Gokuu still unconscious on the couch and Oolong—rifle in hand—awake at the wheel of the RV. With a towel wrapped around her, Blooma asks Oolong why he looks like he stayed up all night…and why she fell asleep in the shower! Oolong, grouchy, says she was probably more tired than she thought and just fell asleep. Oolong points Blooma to the only spare set of clothes he has that will fit her…and they’re a bunny suit! “What the hell?!” Blooma shrieks, wresting Gokuu from his slumber. “Oh, good, now you’re both awake.” Oolong explains that after they fell asleep last night some bandits tried to break in, so he’s been keeping watch ever since. Blooma thanks Oolong—although still miffed about the bunny suit—and asks him to start driving toward Mount Frypan. Oolong grumbles, but it’s better than sticking around with these bandits on their tail. Suddenly, a missile crashes into the RV and sends it crashing into a cactus field. Gokuu busts out the door to face down their assailants. Yamcha strikes at Gokuu with a sword, but Gokuu’s Nyoi-bou blocks the attack. A fierce battle commences. Meanwhile, Oolong confronts Pu-erh, “I thought I recognized you!” they tell one another in union. “You got thrown out of the Southern Transformation School for being lewd!” cries Pu-erh. “All I did was steal the teacher’s panties!” counters Oolong. Yamcha asks for the boy’s name, impressed by his martial arts. Gokuu names himself as Son Gokuu, which prompts Yamcha to ask if he is related to ‘Son Gohan’. Gokuu explains that he is the grandson of Son Gohan. “That explains your fierce technique!” Yamcha admits. Just as Yamcha gains the upper-hand on Gokuu and prepares to cut him in two! Blooma barges out of the camper and demands to know just who the hell is trying to attack them. Upon sight of Yamcha—catching him just before he can slash Gokuu—however, Blooma changes her tune and tries seducing him. Yamcha goes into overload, unable to process the fact that a cute girl with big breasts tightly packed into a bunny suit is coming on to him, quite literally. Yamcha unfreezes long enough to break away from Blooma, toss her way a Hoi-Poi Capsule, and apologize for wrecking their RV before running away with Pu-erh in tow. The Capsule is a FIAT Abarth 695, just big enough for the trio of Dragon Ball collectors to ride in. At a safe distance, Yamcha swears to Pu-erh that they will collect the Dragon Balls and he will use them to wish away his fear of girls!
- •B-Part: A giant wielding a devilish ax swings his steel down upon Son Gokuu. The boy swiftly rolls to his left to dodge the blade, which becomes stuck in the side of the house it crashed into. Using this chance, Gokuu springs off of the ground and kicks the Gyuu-maou in his right elbow. The Gyuu-maou roars in anger, pulls out his ax, and continues his assault. Blooma and Oolong cower behind a long dried water fountain. Smoke, fire and heat waves color the atmosphere of Mount Frypan. “The mountain really is on fire,” Blooma huffs. “I told you this was a bad idea!” Oolong adds. The Gyuu-maou grabs Gokuu by the neck with his massive left hand and begins to crush him to death. Blooma pulls a Capsule out of her cleavage and turns it into an Ingram MAC-11. Blooma shoots the Gyuu-maou but the bullets only cause bruises. Gokuu uses the Gyuu-maou’s temporary distraction to cross chop his wrist and free himself. The Gyuu-maou breaks his grip, but Gokuu rushes up the Gyuu-maou’s arm and slams him in the jaw with his Nyoi-bou. The Gyuu-maou recognizes the Nyoi-bou, saying it belonged to his old friend, Son Gohan. “Son Gohan is my grandpa!” Gokuu reveals. The Gyuu-maou breaks his attack after hearing this and asks Gokuu for forgiveness. Son Gohan and he had trained in the martial arts together under the Muten Roushi long ago and he is aghast to learn he was trying to kill his grandson. Blooma and Oolong breathe a sigh of relief. Blooma asks why the mountain and surrounding kingdom is on fire. The Gyuu-maou explains that the fires on his mountain will not go out, so he’s been unable to return to his castle. Precious family heirlooms remain in the castle, so to prevent them from being lost he sent his daughter, Chi-Chi to find the Muten Roushi and his mystical Bashou-sen. Gokuu agrees to go and find Chi-Chi after the Gyuu-maou confirms that he has an object similar to the Dragon Ball Blooma showed him. Gokuu summons Kinto’un and rides off in the direction Chi-Chi apparently left. “That cloud, could it be…!!” The Gyuu-maou seems to recognize Kinto’un?!
- •Ending:
- •A young girl clad in armor runs from a tyrannosaurus rex.
- Episode #4: “Mount Frypan”
- •Chapters: 12-15
- •Yamcha and Pu-erh, having overheard the conversation between Gokuu’s group and the Gyuu-maou, decide to play it by ear and wait it out. “At least now we know what the Dragon Balls look like,” Yamcha adds.
- •Opening:
- •Soaring through the skies, Gokuu hears a voice crying out and loud stomps. Someone is being chased by a dinosaur! Gokuu redirects Kinto’un but before he can arrive the girl turns around and throws the blade on her helmet, chopping the dinosaur’s head off. Grossed out by the sight, the girl concentrates her Ki into her helmet and fires a beam out of a small jewel on the front. The dinosaur’s remains are vaporized instantly. Gokuu is left speechless.
- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: Gokuu introduces himself to Chi-Chi, telling her she’s really strong. Chi-Chi’s bewildered by the arrival of the boy riding a cloud. Gokuu gets Chi-Chi back up to speed and they take off on Kinto’un. Chi-Chi is able to ride the cloud, but she still hangs onto Gokuu for dear life. Gokuu, curious about whether Chi-Chi is really a girl like Blooma, does a ‘Pat-Pat’. Mortified, Chi-Chi believes she must now become his bride. The two traverse the land and seas by sky until a dolphin points them in the correct direction of the Muten Roushi’s house. The Kame-sen’nin is pleasantly surprised to find Gokuu on his humble island. After learning the situation, the Muten Roushi agrees to hand over the Bashou-sen…but then he remembers that he spilt wonton soup on it and threw it out because he couldn’t clean it! The Muten Roushi decides to go and take care of the business himself.
- •B-Part: Gokuu, Chi-Chi and the Muten Roushi arrive at Mount Frypan. After scolding his student for his nasty reputation, the Muten Roushi flexes his muscles until they become huge. The Muten Roushi performs his ultimate technique, the Kamehame-Ha, but instead of putting out the flames…he blows up the entire mountain by accident! Blooma searches through the rubble but still manages to find the Seven Star Ball. Meanwhile, Gokuu copies the Kamehame-Ha. Gokuu’s beam is weaker than the Muten Roushi’s but still packs enough power to destroy his group’s FIAT. Impressed—if also miffed that his ultimate technique was so easily copied—the Muten Roushi invites Gokuu to become his student once he’s finished collecting the Dragon Balls. With the Twenty-First Tenka’ichi Budoukai coming up it would be a great chance for him to face new challenges. Gokuu agrees…and so does Chi-Chi! Chi-Chi tells her father she wishes to travel with Gokuu’s group. The Gyuu-maou understands her facial expression and is more than happy to give his daughter to Gokuu. Gokuu is confused about the situation (“What do you mean by ‘marriage’?”) while Oolong and Blooma are flabbergasted that someone as aloof as Gokuu is getting himself a bride. The Gyuu-maou gives them a new car as a ‘wedding gift’.
- •Ending:
- •Yamcha and Pu-erh switch over to a Star Model 4 to keep up with their prey’s new car.
- Episode #5: “Pilaf-daiou (Part 1)”
- •Chapters: 18-20
- •Oolong and Blooma argue over Blooma’s intended use for the Dragon Balls. Chi-Chi tries to cuddle with Gokuu, who doesn’t really get what’s going on. Meanwhile, their car is in the scopes of someone’s weapon. Suddenly, a rocket crashes into Gokuu and the others’ car and sends them toppling over.
- •Opening:
- •Two mecha stand over the car, holding the backpack with the Dragon Balls in them! Gokuu and Chi-Chi spring into action to try and retrieve the Balls but the mecha are too fast and too powerful for their punches and kicks to do much more than dent the armor. The mecha slam the two into the ground and repair to launch close-range missiles at them. Yamcha and Pu-erh arrive, launching anti-mecha rockets and causing critical damage to the two mecha. The two mecha speed off with the Dragon Balls in tow.
- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: Blooma whines that their Dragon Balls have been stolen while simultaneously trying to seduce Yamcha. Gokuu reminds her that they still have the Four Star Ball because he keeps it on her person. Blooma gloats that the thieves forgot one! According to the Dragon Radar the thieves are heading straight toward the last Dragon Ball. Since they don’t have a car anymore Yamcha guesses that they’ll just have to ride with them. Much to Yamcha-sama’s chagrin, Blooma sits on his lap due to a “lack of room” in the car for all of them. Meanwhile, Shuu and Mai return from stealing the Dragon Balls but their great king, Pilaf, scolds them for forgetting one of the Dragon Balls. Luckily, the entire time Pilaf was ranting the kids arrived at their castle, entered, and fell into one of their trap rooms! “Pilaf-sama, uh…the monitor right behind you.” Pilaf turns to see the kids in the room. “Oh, well then…”
- •B-Part: Pilaf gases Gokuu and the gang and steals the Four Star Ball. Gokuu uses the Kamehame-Ha to break a little hole in the castle and allow Oolong to transform into a bat and escape. Pilaf summons Shen Long, but Oolong makes his wish instead: he wants the panties from a cute girl! Suddenly, Blooma gasps as her panties disappear and fall straight onto Oolong’s face. The Dragon God bids Pilaf farewell and disappears. The Dragon Balls scatter across the world, dormant for one year. Pilaf is pissed off! Gokuu and the others are moved into a room with a glass ceiling. When the sun rises they’ll be baked alive! Unable to escape, the gang bemoans how they’ll never achieve their goals. Pu-erh looks at the moon, which reminds Gokuu of a story his granpa once told him about a giant monster that comes out when the moon is full. Gokuu accidentally looks at the full moon and transforms into a giant monkey so large it breaks the ceiling of the room.
- •Ending:
- •A loud noise awakens Pilaf. A giant monkey is destroying his castle!
- Episode #6: “Pilaf-daiou (Part 2)”
- •Chapters: 21-23
- •With the glass ceiling room destroyed Blooma and the others make a run for it. But Chi-Chi wants to try and turn Gokuu back to normal. Finally, Chi-Chi manages to cut Gokuu’s tail off with help from Yamcha and the others. Gokuu returns to his normal form, albeit naked. Chi-Chi wears a perverse look on her face at the sight of Gokuu.
- •B-Part: Gokuu awakens, naked. Blooma tells a reluctant Oolong to give Gokuu his trousers so he doesn’t walk around naked all day. Gokuu doesn’t remember turning into a giant monkey and Blooma and Yamcha decide it’s best to not tell him. Gokuu and Chi-Chi decide to go off to find the Muten Roushi to further their training while Blooma and Yamcha return to the city to date.

- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: Gokuu and Chi-Chi return to the Kame-sen’nin, unsuccessful in their quest to find a Pichi-Pichi Gal for the Muten Roushi to meet. The Muten Roushi grumbles about there now being “three of them trying to be my students…” and presents Kuririn with the same task: find him a Pichi-Pichi Gal. This time, Gokuu, Chi-Chi and Kuririn all struggle to ride the Kinto’un. Chi-Chi becomes jealous when the impure Kuririn—having previously tried to bribe the Muten Roushi with pornographic magazines—must hang onto Gokuu so as to not fall off the cloud. The trio eventually comes across a blue-haired girl being chased by the police. Gokuu and Kuririn beat off the police, confused by why they would be trying to harm such a defenseless girl. The girl introduces herself a Lunch. Lunch agrees to meet the Muten Roushi. Back at Kame House, the Muten Roushi agrees to train Gokuu, Kuririn and Chi-Chi. Lunch sneezes and her hair changes to blonde, leading to her shooting everyone for making her wear such lingerie. Lunch sneezes again and returns to her kind blue-haired self. Lunch explains that her personality changes when she sneezes, leading the Muten Roushi to wonder what he’s gotten himself into.
- •Opening: Gokuu and the others leave the small island and arrive at a bigger island. The Muten Roushi tests their speed and re-tests Kuririn after he runs out of the Kame House being chased by Blonde Lunch while passing to the Muten Roushi a beer. Later, the Muten Roushi marks a stone with the Kanji for ‘Turtle’ (Kame) and tosses it into a large forest. Gokuu and friends run into the forest to search for it!

Finally, Kuririn finds the stone and rushes back to Kame House to present it to the Muten Roushi with Gokuu and Chi-Chi chasing after him. The Muten Roushi congratulates Kuririn and declares that he shall be allowed to eat and that Gokuu and Chi-Chi will have to do without.

Nevertheless, Gokuu calls her out for not using her full strength and she realizes that she can help him achieve his goal of fighting strong fellows by being one of those strong fellows. Eventually, Chi-Chi unleashes a giant ax made out of ki, her father’s secret technique. Gokuu is pushed down further and further under the pressure of the ax. With his legs buckling, Gokuu’s tail spontaneously re-grows and acts as a third leg to prop him up. Gokuu breaks the ax and kicks Chi-Chi out of the ring. Melancholy sets in as Chi-Chi realizes she failed to get her kiss. Suddenly, Gokuu jumps on her, pushing her onto her back. With his face incredibly close to Chi-Chi’s and his hands around her wrists Gokuu says “Wow Chi-Chi, you’re real strong!” Chi-Chi begins fizzing at the mouth.

Piccolo takes the boy—who has fallen unconscious after the ki outburst—and tells Blooma to revive Son Gokuu and his woman in one year’s time. God’s taken their bodies for some reason, which means they are surely going to be training, too. Piccolo flies off with Gohan.

The married couple is given permission to traverse the Serpentine Road and train under the Kaiou of the North Galaxy. The road is extraordinarily long so it might take some time for the duo to reach their destination. Nevertheless, Chi-Chi hops into Gokuu’s arms and hangs her arms around his neck and tells him “It’s good for your training!” Gokuu begins running with gusto. Later that night, Gohan sees the full moon for the first time and turns into an Oozaru. Piccolo, watching from afar, is shocked by this and remembers what Raditz told Gokuu about Saiyans and the full moon. With a single ki blast the Daimaou destroys the moon and Gohan returns to normal. Piccolo creates Gohan’s dougi and sword from the pre-Opening segment.

The tall Saiyan—Nappa—destroys the city effortlessly after being annoyed by the Earthlings convening around them. The small Saiyan—Vegeta—playfully admonishes Nappa for being careless: a Dragon Ball could’ve gotten caught up in the blast and destroyed. “How would we attain our eternal life, then?” Nappa apologizes and the two set off in search of the highest battle power on Earth, surely to be the one who killed Raditz and knows about the Dragon Balls. The Saiyans arrive to find Piccolo, Son Gohan, Kuririn, Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu on the scene. Nappa decides that he wants to fight all six of them at the same time since they insist on being a nuisance. Seven pairs of fists and legs begin to fly.

Tenshinhan blocks for Kuririn as he catches his breath after such a large ki blast but Nappa’s chop is so fierce it lops off Tenshinhan’s arm. Chaozu latches onto Nappa and uses his telekinetic powers at close range to lift Nappa into the sky and try to crush him like a soda can. Think again!” Staring at the artificial moon he has created, Vegeta transforms into a Giant Monkey, but unlike Gokuu and Gohan, he can control himself. Gokuu uses the Taiyou-ken to blind Vegeta long enough to gather genki for a Genki-dama, but Vegeta regains his sight and attacks Gokuu. Gokuu loses the Genki-dama before he can throw it, unfortunately. Vegeta begins crushing Gokuu’s body.

Yajirobe slices Vegeta in the back again, giving Gohan the moment he needs to break out of Vegeta’s grasp, turn around and fire a full strength Masen-kou up close. Gohan and Vegeta begin to trade blows while Gokuu passes the remainder of his Genki-dama to Chi-Chi to throw. Chi-Chi throws the blast but Vegeta leaps without even turning around. Kaiou-sama responds with “9045XY from the direction of SU83!” Those coordinates shock Blooma, since they’re so far away and their fastest ship would take the fastest Capsule Corp ship 4,339 years and three months to reach the coordinates that Kaiou-sama gave them. Mister Popo chimes in from outside (freaking everyone the fuck out), saying he knows of a ship that could reach Namek in just a month.

Popo says that this is the ship God came to Earth on. Blooma replies, with growing excitement and hope on her face “T-this is…” the camera rotates around Blooma’s back, the lens brushing through her hair. Once past her hair the camera finishes its rotation. Blooma’s expression is now one of horror, “…a disaster!” Cut to a wide shot with Blooma in the background looking up at the spaceship, now looking like Swiss cheese thanks to the attack of the aliens wearing battle jackets like the Saiyan invaders’ that Chi-Chi, Gohan and Kuririn are turning into Swiss cheese in the foreground.
- •Opening: Chi-Chi, Blooma, Gohan and Kuririn traversing the landscape of Planet Namek. The group finds a cave and set up a Capsule House to rest.

You said it yourself when you called your papa, Gokuu-sa is on his way!” Blooma groans, eyes still blank. “Gokuu-sa is going to be here in five days with a new ship!” “Chi-Chi is such a dumb, cheery girl,” Blooma thinks to herself. Suddenly, Chi-Chi senses something and rushes (wrapping herself in a towel, somehow) out the door and joins Kuririn and Gohan outside at the mouth of the cave. Multiple huge ki are passing by.
- •Title Card: The title is laid over Freeza’s ghoulish face.
- •A-Part: Kuririn and Gohan just about piss themselves after the aliens pass by. They’re stunned that such huge ki could even exist. Chi-Chi asks Blooma to check the Dragon Radar to confirm her suspicion. Indeed, those aliens in armor like the Saiyan invaders had FOUR Dragon Balls with them already. Kuririn swallows the lump in his throat and prepares to suggest they follow after those aliens. Chi-Chi speaks up first, determination plastering her face, saying they should follow after those aliens with the Dragon Balls. Gohan nods with determination, “We need to steel those Dragon Balls and wish back Piccolo-niisan and the others!” Blooma asks if she’s crazy, taking her son with her to face such dangerous guys. After thinking about it for a moment, Chi-Chi says “Gokuu-sa’s son is Gokuu-sa’s son! It should be okay!!” which just leaves Blooma flabbergasted. The three zoom off, jumping from island to island to conserve ki.
- •B-Part: On Freeza Planet #79, Vegeta punches his way out of the healing pod. Vegeta dons a new battle jacket and scouter, although he spent the eighteen days since leaving Earth practicing sensing battle powers he might still need the scouter for communications. Kewi, a warrior on Vegeta’s level, smugly shit-talks him for coming back from an unauthorized mission on Earth so beat up. Kewi lets it drop that Freeza overheard on the scouters about the Namekians and the Dragon Balls and has already left for Planet Namek. Vegeta scowls and raises his ki to its maximum. Kewi cannot believe that Vegeta’s battle power is now 40,000, twice his own! Vegeta beats the exact coordinates of Planet Namek out of Kewi before killing him and launches in his Attack Ball for Planet Namek.

Gohan snaps and kicks Dodoria away before he can kill the second kid, then pins him to the ground with a flurry of punches. Kuririn grabs the kid while Chi-Chi grabs Gohan off of Dodoria and they make a run for it. Dodoria follows after those four. Kuririn’s group lay low, having realized that without their scouters those guys in the armor that the Saiyans wore cannot sense ki.
- •B-Part: Dodoria’s search for the ‘little shit’ that caught him off guard is interrupted by Vegeta. Dodoria smugly tells Vegeta that he better run away before Freeza-sama finds him and kills him. Then again, Dodoria figures he will receive a big reward if he brought him to Freeza-sama, especially since he has a scouter. Vegeta is happy to hear that Freeza’s scouters are destroyed and tosses Dodoria his, telling him to watch. Vegeta raises his ki sharply to 40,257. The calculation overloads the scouter and it explodes. Dodoria is shocked, realizing that with his battle power of 31,133 he’s completely outmatched. Dodoria tries to buy his life with knowledge of how Planet Vegeta was really destroyed but Vegeta reveals that he already knew that and kills Dodoria. Kuririn and the others, still in hiding on the island below Vegeta, hold their breath. Vegeta, still new to sensing ki, is unable to sense the Earthlings and flies off. “Great,” Kuririn gasps, “Now Vegeta’s here, too!”

Meanwhile, Vegeta floats above another Namekian village.
- •Opening:
- •Vegeta bashes in the skull of a Namekian warrior. The body drops to the ground, joining two dozen others. - •Title Card:
- •A-Part: Meanwhile, while searching for another Namekian village Zarbon is attacked from behind by Vegeta. The two warriors engage in battle, but Vegeta has the upper hand. Zarbon unveils that he can transform to increase his power, although he dislikes doing so as he looks so ugly. The transformed Zarbon begins pounding the Vegeta to a pulp, gloating that in his transformed state his battle power is at least 60,000, although Freeza-sama is nearly twice as strong as that. Vegeta is helpless to stop Zarbon and is eventually knocked unconscious after being slammed so hard into an island it creates a massive crater that the ocean begins to pour into. Zarbon retrieves Vegeta’s body, saying that he’s sure that Freeza-sama will want to play with him some after betraying him.
- •B-Part: Dende, Gohan, Chi-Chi and Kuririn arrive at the hut of the Grand Elder. The quartet is greeted by Nail, the strongest Namekian Warrior. The Grand Elder reads the minds of the visitors from Earth and tells Dende he was wise to trust them. After burying everyone the duo use the Dragon Radar and locate the Dragon Ball in the ocean shallows off the coast. The duo flies off back to the Grand Elder’s hut.
- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: Having overplayed the extent of his injuries so as to infiltrate Freeza’s ship, Vegeta breaks free from his medical pod earlier than was expected of him and causes a distraction on the ship. With Freeza unable to sense ki Vegeta pretends to be on one side of the ship, forcing Freeza to leave the Dragon Balls unguarded. In secret, Vegeta sneaks into Freeza’s room and throws the Dragon Balls far away and then chases after them while swimming under water. Freeza is furious when he realizes that he has been played. Meanwhile, Zarbon finds the same Namekian village already found by Vegeta and what he assumes are the brats from earlier. Furious, Zarbon flies off even further to the other side of the world.
- •B-Part: Vegeta catches up with his new Dragon Balls and secures them in an alcove out of immediate site. Sensing Zarbon’s agitated ki as well as Gohan’s ki leaving from the direction of the village he massacred, Vegeta suspects that Kakarrot’s son might’ve found the Four-Star Dragon Ball. Vegeta catches up with Zarbon again and hits him from behind again. Vegeta gloats that Zarbon didn’t do a good enough job of determining how injured he was and now he will be the one that Freeza blames for his five Dragon Balls being stolen. Seeing that defeating Freeza is his only shot at redemption, Zarbon transforms again but before he can even launch a single attack Vegeta punches a hole in his stomach and unleashes a ki blast, blowing Zarbon up from the inside out. Recovering from a near-death experience has allowed Vegeta’s strength to grow once again!
- •Ending:

- •Opening:
- •Vegeta senses Gohan, Kuririn and Chi-Chi once again on the move…heading in the same direction of where his five Dragon Balls are hidden. After confirming that the Four-Star Ball was already stolen Vegeta furiously flies off to intercept the Earthlings.
- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: The Earthlings and their Namekian tour guide arrive at the location of the other five Dragon Balls. Dende successfully summons Polunga, which can only be done in Namekian. Polunga explains that he can grant three wishes but as a result can only revive from the dead one person per wish. Piccolo is revived first, followed by Chaozu. There’s only one wish left, so do they choose to revive Tenshinhan or Yamcha first? Piccolo calls from the Afterlife via Kaiou-sama. Apparently Piccolo, Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu have been training with the same guy that trained Gokuu and Chi-Chi! Piccolo says that instead of reviving one of the others they should wish for him to be brought immediately to Planet Namek. Gohan and the others agree and Piccolo is brought to Namek...just not their location! Meanwhile, Freeza arrives at the Grand Elder’s hut and greets him. He wants his Dragon Ball but a smug Nail reveals that he’s too late. The sky turns dark and Freeza instantly catches the meaning. Furious, Freeza unleashes an incredible ki bomb to kill the two Namekians before immediately flying off in the direction of whatever that massive green light in the sky is. Nail uses all of his strength to hold back the sphere long enough for the sky to return to its normal color. Knowing that the wishes have been made, Nail finally unleashes his hold. Nail and the Grand Elder are swallowed whole by the purple and black sphere. Piccolo has arrived on Namek at the remains of the Grand Elder’s hut. Piccolo senses a faint ki under the rubble and unearths Nail. Nail realizes that he is about to die, but if Piccolo allows him to merge with him he can at least boost Piccolo’s strength, which is nowhere near it’s true form since splitting from his other half. Piccolo reluctantly agrees when he senses the massive malicious ki headed Gohan’s way and takes in Nail’s being. Piccolo is overjoyed by his new power and immediately flies off in Gohan’s direction. Vegeta arrives on the scene, absolutely furious that his chance at immortality is down the drain. Before he can do anything, though, Freeza arrives!
- •B-Part: Vegeta is more so annoyed by Freeza’s presence than anything. Vegeta tells the Earthlings to lend him a hand since neither team alone can defeat Freeza and successfully escape his wrath. Kuririn and the others reluctantly concur and the fight against Freeza begins. Freeza’s inability to fend off so many powerful opponents at once infuriates him, so he transforms into his second form! Second Form Freeza uses his horns to stab Kuririn and tosses him into the ocean. Gohan’s ki surges in rage and he manages to pin down Freeza with kicks and a Masen-kou at full power. Freeza staves off the assault and pummels Gohan good, but Gohan is saved by Chi-Chi and Vegeta’s double attack. Chi-Chi forms a giant ki ax that cuts off Freeza’s tail. Meanwhile, a half-conscious Gohan finds his strength suddenly returning and his injuries healing. Dende can heal injuries?! That means…yes, Kuririn is a live and slicing and dicing Freeza’s thick armor-like skin with multiple Kienzan! Gohan joins the fray and under the assault of the newly powered up Gohan’s ki the quartet of fighters are able to send Freeza flying to the other side of the planet. With a few moments to spare Vegeta demands to know why he wasn’t told that the Namekian brat could heal. Kuririn and the others reveal that they didn’t know until just now. Vegeta lays out his plan: injure him gravely and then have the kid heal him so that he can have his power grow from a near death experience just like Kakarrot’s son displayed. Kuririn is reluctant, though, to power up a nasty bastard like Vegeta but with Freeza’s ki rapidly approaching he finds that beggars cannot be choosers. Suddenly, Piccolo arrives!

- •Opening:
- •Piccolo joins Gohan and Chi-Chi in fighting Freeza while Kuririn convinces Dende to go along with the plan to heal Vegeta. Dende is reluctant, but when he sees Piccolo fighting so as to hold off Freeza long enough for Dende to do his part the boy finally acquiesces. Kuririn blasts Vegeta through the gut.
- •Title Card: The episode title is written with Vegeta’s blood.
- •A-Part: While Dende heals Vegeta in plain sight Freeza catches sight. Kuririn joins the others in holding back Freeza, unaware of Freeza’s agenda. Freeza transforms into his fourth and ‘true’ form. The force emanating from the transformation knocks Gohan and the others back and encapsulates Freeza in a smoke screen. Meanwhile, Dende finishes healing Vegeta, who believes that he has finally become a Super Saiyan. Out of the smoke screen comes a Death Beam. The thin beam shoots past Vegeta and burns Dende alive. Everyone is mortified but all Freeza has to say is “No more resurrections!” Gohan, Kuririn, Chi-Chi and Piccolo attack Freeza, but he holds them off easily. Vegeta jumps into the fray and unleashes a full power blast that actually keeps Freeza at bay for a moment. Finally, Freeza redirects the blast into outer space, shocking everyone. Vegeta cannot believe that even after growing so much more powerful he is still no match for Freeza. Freeza begins mercilessly beating on Vegeta, who does nothing but weep at his own foolishness. Gohan tries to save Vegeta but gets slapped aside with such force his neck is broken. Chi-Chi rushes to Gohan’s side as he slowly, painfully dies. As Chi-Chi weeps, Kuririn attacks Freeza in a fury for what he has done to his best friend’s son. Piccolo joins in, too! Freeza tosses Vegeta’s limp body aside and flashes a devilish smile at the fools coming his way. Suddenly, a spaceship touches down.
- •B-Part: A hum emanates from a computer in the center of a spaceship. The monitor reads ‘30G’. Son Gokuu trains as best he can. A bag of Senzu lies on his chair. Gokuu fires off three Kamehame-Ha and lets the three streams crash into him after they circle around the ship. Exhausted and injured, Gokuu crawls to his chair and eats a Senzu, instantly recovering his health and strength. Unbeknownst to him, he isn’t doing simple endurance training. By recovering from a near death experience he is actually increasing his power much in addition to what normal training can bring. Gokuu receives a telepathic greeting from the Kaiou-sama! Gokuu is glad to learn that Piccolo, Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu are now training with the Kaiou-sama. Gokuu explains that he’s training on his trip to Namek thanks to the special gravity machine that Blooma’s Daddy made. On Kaiou-sama’s planet the gravity was ten-times that of Planet Earth, but the gravity machine built by Blooma’s Daddy can do one hundred-times! Kaiou-sama checks on Planet Namek for Gokuu to see how his friends are doing but is horrified to learn that Freeza is there, too! Kaiou-sama orders Gokuu not to engage with Freeza. He’ll definitely die if he does so. Gokuu reluctantly agrees to just get his friends and leave should the Dragon Balls fall into Freeza’s hands. Back in the present, Gokuu exits his spaceship and appears by Chi-Chi and Gohan’s side almost immediately. Freeza bats an eye at this newcomer’s speed. “Sorry I’m so late,” he says as he kneels down and feeds Gohan a Senzu. Gokuu stays in place as his son suddenly springs back to life and embraces him. The camera does not show Gokuu’s face. Finally, the camera follows the full length of Gokuu’s body as he stands until it reaches the top. Now, Gokuu’s hair is standing up and has turned golden. An aura of gold fire dances around his body. Everybody is shocked by this transformation but Vegeta just laughs. He has lived just long enough to witness the birth of a Super Saiyan.
- •Ending:
- •Gokuu tells Kuririn to feed a Senzu to everyone else, including Vegeta, for saving Gohan earlier. Kuririn wonders how he knows about that, though. Super Saiyan Son Gokuu walks over to Freeza and peers down at him in a recreation of the Dragon Ball Chapter #309 title page.

Having trained under the harsh master, Vegeta, Gohan idly stands by as he and Vegeta try to raise their strength enough to defeat the Artificial Humans. Vegeta, Blooma and Trunks live with Gohan and the Gyuu-maou deep in the mountains. For the past year the Red Ribbon Army has seemingly slowly played with their food, rather than eliminating the world outright. One day, Gohan can no longer take the news reports and flies into a city under siege. Gohan has his ass handed to him by the Artificial Humans, saved only by Vegeta and the Gyuu-maou. Gohan recovers from near death with one of the last few Senzu and tries to help Vegeta fight but cannot sync up with the Super Saiyan’s speed. The Gyuu-maou tries to protect lost children, but is killed for it by random Red Ribbon Army attack bots. With his dying breath the Gyuu-maou tells Gohan he wishes he could have seen his daughter’s smile one last time. Vegeta wonders if the reason he kept losing was because he was torturing his body by constantly being angry just to use Super Saiyan. Before he can finish his thought, Blooma interrupts with news that the Red Ribbon Army is attacking a major dam. If the dam breaks then hundreds of thousands will be killed. Gohan can’t stand for that but Vegeta tells him to calm the hell down and think about the long term. After Gohan runs off back into the house Vegeta asks Blooma “Is it ready?” and she hands him a capsule. Blooma appears on the scene with baby Trunks and Yajirobe and reveals that she’s snuck a tracking device onto the artificial human while he was distracted and is currently tracking his movements. Blooma also reveals that the old man looked a lot like Doctor Gero on the surveillance footage her tracking bug caught and fed to her hover car’s monitor. Getting another look at Trunks up close Blooma realizes that the young man from the future is actually her son, Trunks! Trunks comes clean and then asks where Gokuu-san and Chi-Chi-san are. Only Piccolo, Vegeta, Tenshinhan, Kuririn, Yamcha and Chaozu are present. Piccolo explains that Gokuu was caught off guard by both artificial humans attacking them when he began to get the upper hand on the pale one and so Chi-Chi took him home after their Senzu were destroyed. Before Trunks can ask about Gohan he is cut off by the noise of Vegeta flying off in the direction of Doctor Gero. Trunks and the others follow and soon arrive at the sealed off laboratory.
- •B-Part: Doctor Gero’s laboratory explodes, turning into a pile of rubber. In the middle of the rubble stand three new artificial humans: a tall man with orange hair, a man with black hair and a woman with blonde hair. The man with black hair seems to be stepping on Doctor Gero’s head, having completely smashed it just as Vegeta and the others arrive. Trunks confirms that the man and woman are the Artificial Humans #17 and #18 that he knows, but the tall one with the orange hair is unknown to him. Vegeta picks a fight with #18 but has his ass handed to him, even as a Super Saiyan. Trunks tries to save his dad from certain death. The Artificial Humans find Trunks’ desperation humorous and after beating him, Chaozu, Tenshinhan, and Yamcha into near unconsciousness decide to go hunt for Son Gokuu. The mysterious monster is a tall and green cicada-esque monster. The monster’s needle-esque tail stabs the old man and drinks his flesh and bone until only clothing remains. As the cicada approaches the now cornered girl he is stopped by a voice from behind: “That was disgusting.” The cicada turns around only to be met with a punch to the face. Piccolo has arrived! Piccolo tells the girl to run, but the cicada’s tail stretches out and pierces the girl! Piccolo is horrified to find himself too late. Now the once peaceful Ginger Town is a ghost town. Piccolo allows himself to be ensnared by the cicada man and uses the opportunity to get all of the information he can about him out of him before revealing that he isn’t really at a disadvantage at all. The needle on Cell’s tail expands into a suction cup and swallows #17 whole. Piccolo and the others can only hear muffled shrieks of horror.
- •B-Part: Kuririn arrives in the city that Piccolo is fighting the Artificial Humans in first. Waiting in hiding, Kuririn considers shutting #18 off as she watches the battle unfold, but then recalls how the Artificial Humans technically haven’t done anything bad yet. Vegeta takes a chop to the throat and falls to the ground in pain. Trunks tries to protect Vegeta—much to the shock of the Saiyan prince—but Cell unleashes seven children from his tail that he calls ‘Cell Juniors’. “If you all want to fight, too, why not fight my children?” Gohan defends Videl from a Cell Junior and does what none of his friends can: easily kills it with one blow. Finally, Gohan punches Cell so hard he vomits up Artificial Humans #17 and #18 and reverts to his first form. Gohan asks Cell to leave and never come back. Cell begs for a Senzu or else he’ll die and Gohan’s mercy would be all for nothing. Gohan acquiesces but the Senzu helps Cell recover from a near death experience! Suddenly, Videl is attacked by a hulking mass of muscles: Spopovitch, now pale of skin and baring a strange ‘M’ marking on his forehead. Videl does her best to battle Spopovitch while protecting innocent civilian—made only worse by the raging downpour of rain—but this only leads to her assuming injuries she otherwise wouldn’t. Nose and teeth broken, Videl begins to cry as Spopovitch holds her up by her twin-tails. Spopovitch slugs Videl into a building by her twin-tails and tears her hair out of her head. Before he can crush Videl below his hulking foot Spopovitch is kicked aside by an absolutely raging Super Saiyan 2 Son Gohan. Gohan and Spopovitch engage in battle but Spopovitch is stronger than he seems and manages to catch the raging Gohan off-guard with a headbutt and then a bear hug to hold him still. Gohan struggles for a moment before suddenly being pierced in the gut. Gohan peers down in shock, finding Yamu—similarly pale and bearing an ‘M’ mark on his forehead—siphoning his ki with a strange device. Gohan eventually passes out in a puddle of accumulated rain water and mud.
- •Ending:
- •In a dark, shrouded room a tall demon named Darbra and a short warlock named Babidi snicker as Yamu hands over the siphoned ki.
- Episode #75: “The Mystery of the ‘M’ Marking”
- •Chapters: #445-
- •Son Gokuu trains on the world of the Kaiou-shin while Shin, Kibito and the Elder Kaiou-shin watch over him. Shin gripes about how he cannot believe ‘Gokuu-san’ broke the Z Sword but the Elder Kaiou-shin laughs about how he sure is happy. Shin gripes some more about tradition and other nonsense which leads to the Elder Kaiou-shin just mocking him with funny faces behind his back. Suddenly, a boy named Beelzebub (from Toriyama Akira’s Sandland comic) appears, shocking Shin and Kibito.
- •Opening:
- •Beelzebub explains that he was sent by his father to ask Kaiou-shin to do something about his younger brother, Darbra. Apparently Darbra is running around the human realm serving a warlock named Babidi. Shin and Kibito give each other knowing looks.
- •Title Card:
- •A-Part: Shin agrees to help but he isn’t sure if he can stop Babidi by himself if he has the incredibly powerful Darbra on his side now. Shin turns to Son Gokuu and asks if he would be willing to help, which Gokuu of course is more than happy to do but he then points to his halo. A loud thud startles the group and they turn to the Elder Kaiou-shin, now lying in his spot…dead. Shin shrieks but then the body of the Elder Kaiou-shin springs back to life “There, I gave my life to Son Gokuu-chan so now he won’t have to worry about being dead!” Gokuu giggles as he peers up at his now absent halo. “I guess I won’t have to ask Uranai Baba to let me go to the living realm for a day, then!” Back on Earth, Gohan awakens at Capsule Corp. Vegeta has just returned from Karin’s place with senzu for Gohan and Videl. Gohan blames himself for how Videl was nearly beaten to death but Videl tells him not to, Spopovitch was only trying to get revenge for her Papa ending his career. Gohan wonders just how the hell those two got so powerful so quickly only to be answered by a mysterious voice: “I shall explain that!” Gohan turns and is shocked to find Shin and…his dad?!
- •B-Part: Gohan and Gokuu embrace, Gokuu remarking about how tall Gohan has become. After Gokuu explains how he was resurrected Shin begins to explain what’s been happening in Satan City and how Babidi is seeking out vast quantities of ki so as to break the seal on Majin Buu. Gohan grips his fists with anger, saying that he just wants to stay retired but now he definitely has to fight Spopovitch to avenge Videl. Videl tells Gohan not to worry but Gohan won’t listen. Vegeta—incredulous that his eternal rival has been resurrected—demands a rematch with ‘Kakarotto’. Gokuu nods in agreement but asks that they first settle things with Babidi. A pushy Son Gohan asks Shin for Babidi’s location but Shin states that the warlock’s magic is of such a high level that he cannot detect his location. The group eventually settles on luring Babidi’s forces out with an opportunity to absorb ki so as to revive Majin Buu. Meanwhile, Babidi injects the shell that houses Majin Buu with the filled ki siphoning device. Both Babidi and Darbra are shocked to find that one simple trip was enough to bring Majin Buu’s shell to quarter-power. Spopovitch and Yamu confirm that they left the two kids they fought alive and will hunt them down and drain them again, should they still be alive. Darbra senses a vast ‘energy’ in the direction of a desert and Babidi uses his magic to make the image of the source of that energy appear. Gohan, raising a sandstorm with his massive power, appears on Babidi’s giant crystal ball, pleasing Babidi. Babidi makes a doorway to his spaceship appear and telepathically provokes Gohan into descending. Gohan does so—knowing full well it to be a trap—and signals to Vegeta, his dad, Videl, Shin and Beelzebub to follow. The six crusaders arrive in Babidi’s lair and are treated to a psychedelic arrangement of quickly changing environments designed to upset their senses and balance. Vegeta shouts at Babidi to cease his games and show himself but this only causes Babidi to cackle. Darbra suggests that they make a game out of this so that they can draw out as much energy to feed Majin Buu as possible. Babidi agrees and uses his magic to make each of the six warriors fall into separate rooms on his ship.
- •Ending:
- •Each of the six crusaders awakens to find they are alone and confronted by a new enemy. Son Gokuu versus Yakon in the World of Darkness, Vegeta versus Pui-Pui on his home planet, Son Gohan versus Yamu, Videl versus Spopovitch and Beelzebub versus his uncle, Darbra. Meanwhile, Shin is…in a mall?

Gohan’s frustration makes the bridge shake violently and after taking a kick from Yamu to the head Gohan finds that when he falls off the bridge he cannot fly; grabbing onto the bridge at the last second Gohan breathes a sigh of relief. Figuring that Babidi’s magic is suppressing his ability to fly somehow Gohan flips around to get back onto the bridge. Gohan steadily steps toward Yamu who himself smugly stands in place. Meanwhile, Beelzebub gripes to Darbra about how it’s a real pain that his dad is making him bring Uncle Darbra back home. Darbra tells his nephew to amscray since even though he works for Babidi now he’d prefer not to kill his nephew. Beelzebub declines, calling it an even bigger pain to return home empty handed. Fascinated by this phenomenon Darbra finds himself at a crossroads. At the death cage match, Videl attempts to weaken Spopovitch’s legs through injuries and forcing him to make movements that place stress on his legs. Spopovitch eventually catches Videl and slams him into the cage so hard her face bleeds in the same pattern as the cage. Spopovitch laughs at the daughter of Satan and proclaims “the fun is only starting!” as he picks Videl up by the hair. “Shall I tear out the rest, woman?” The situation appears helpless for Videl as her consciousness slips. In a close up of her right hand a spark of ki flares out.
- •B-Part: Vegeta still fails to land a blow on Pui-Pui until he realizes that the reason he’s losing is because he’s judging his opponent based on their words, rather than their actions. Frustration and mixed feelings over Kakarotto’s return have left him very upset and unfocused. Taking a deep breath and calming his mind and body, Vegeta finally begins connecting with his enemy. Admitting to Pui-Pui that he is a worthy foe—even as strong as Cell—Vegeta’s movements begin to become stronger and sharper, soon outpacing Pui-Pui. Finally, Pui-Pui decides that it’s time to reveal his trump card and…transforms into Son Gokuu?! On the World of Darkness Gokuu manages to hold Yakon in place while delivering crushing Liver Blows. Finally, the bloated Yakon ‘farts’ out Gokuu’s Super Saiyan power, turning it into a nauseating smell that renders Gokuu’s strength inert and his grip on Yakon loose enough for the ‘majuu’ to break free. Gohan dashes to the end of the rope bridge but Yamu cuts it before Gohan can make it onto the rim of the volcano. Propelling himself mid-air with a Masen-kou, Gohan just barely latches onto to the cliff edge but Yamu begins crushing Gohan’s fingers with some nasty stomps. Gohan cries out, helpless. Meanwhile, Darbra finds inner strength and rejects his worldly desires by spitting on the gifted smart phone and turning it into stone, materializing a sword and attempting to cleave Beelzebub in two. Meanwhile Videl has been feigning helplessness. Videl times her killing blow with the wide-mouthed laughing of her foe and shoves a Masen-kou down his throat. Nose broken and cornered; Vegeta hears the voice of his Blooma berate him: “Dumbass, Trunks doesn’t want to see you angry; he wants to see you emote!” This brings Vegeta back to his senses and he realizes that Pui-Pui must be able to see into the minds of those who he fights and embody his foe’s weaknesses. “So, the only way I’ll win this fight is if I can win against my desire to battle Kakarotto?!” Reaching his conclusion Vegeta wipes the blood from his nose and summons the remainder of his strength to the forefront.
