- The suns glory usually failed to gift another day, not the absence of sunlight but more so the absence of something special, something peculiar that can act as a driving force in the withered minds of teenagers who so desperately seek satisfaction at the bottom of a pill bottle, another Xanax, another molly.. Not today, it was date night.. And Zach was more nervous than he could ever fathom, so nervous that it welled up in his being and nearly spilled from his eyes in the form of joyous exasperation. He hadn’t had a date before, not a real one.. Sure he had hung around girls, and smoked with girls but dinner.. No, nothing like this.. He could feel his palms sweating, could feel the rickety posts of his legs faltering beneath the weight of a heavy heart that yearned for gratification.. Something he had been seeking yet remained unable to find, perhaps this was due to the fact that he was searching in all the wrong places, he was looking in the roach of a blunt, or the aftershock of a molly pop.. He was looking in the white, tainted rails of a crushed up oxycontin and in the lightning of a snort of coke.. He couldn’t find it there, sure it offered subliminal happiness, something so short and sweet that it would never truly quench the insatiable thirst of longing.. Longing for someone to love him, love him back.. He was scared though, unsure of what to wear or how to act.. How should he do his hair.. No, that was stupid he would wear it like he always does.. Under a snapback.. Well.. It was a special occasion, maybe he would let that tumultuous head of hair out tonight, maybe he would let people see that he took was a unique person, capable of doing more than just fitting in.. He’d wear his jeans, the wranglers, the ones that were kindy stretchy.. He liked that, they didn’t threaten to bust at the seams every time he was in a bind, or chafe and just become plain fucking uncomfortable like other jeans.. And the gucci top, the one with the tigers on the shoulders.. Mother fucker.. He looked slick, The Nixon on his wrist was gold, so gold.. All gold matter of fact.. No chains, he hadn’t gotten there yet, but perhaps in the future.. He did have his eye on something, knew a guy that could create the masterpiece.. Nothing to flashy, he wasn’t that rich. Here he was, clad in the clandestine uniform he hoped would initiate the first conversation of the night, something that would move him and this girl, this girl he had fucking pined after for years, This was it..
