- >Lyle followed Lacy out of the restaurant
- >”Hey! Hey! What is your problem?” Lyle says as bolognese sauce drips down his face.
- >”I-I-“ Lacy stammers as she turns.
- >”You say you want to help and you do this?” Lyle points to the bowlful of pasta hanging off of him. “This isn’t helping.”
- >”I don’t know. I don’t know.” She repeats.
- >”You don’t know?” Lyle tilts his head in confusion.
- >”I feel weird.” Lacy holds her head in her hands.
- >”Are you sick?” Lyle steps closer.
- >”No. I don’t think so. But-“ Lacy looks up and then stops.
- >”But, what? What?” Lyle presses.
- >”I want you to date Marla. I know she likes you. But I feel weird! I-I saw you together and it made me feel weird!” Lacy states.
- >”What?”
- >”Marla is cute and funny, and soft, girls should be soft. I’m not soft. And, and she kisses good.” Lacy continues.
- >”Kisses-?” Lyle is cutoff.
- >”I don’t know. In Cheer camp, apparentally, you practice kissing, no one told me that until we started pairing up!” Lacy says quickly.
- >”...That’s kind of messed up.” Lyle says, chuckles.
- >”Tell me about it... it was fun though.”
- >”Did you like it?” Lyle looks to his cousin.
- >”Yeah. Marla’s a good kisser.” She nods.
- >”Maybe, you like Marla.” Lyle suggests.
- >”No.” Lacy shakes her head.
- >”Why?” He asks.
- >”She likes you. That would be selfish.” Lacy says softly.
- >”Lacy, you can be selfish. And Marla can love more than one person at a time.” Lyle strokes her face.
- >”Don’t get meat sauce on me.” Lacy says.
- >”Too late...” Lyle smiles.
