Here are some questions I will probably be asked when playing custom maps of Chex Quest.


Q: Why do you sometimes use noclip?
A: With custom maps, and even the original games, there can sometimes be enemies, items, or secrets that can't be reached without going out of bounds.
I also sometimes go out of bounds to look for a secret if I take too long to find one so I'm not wandering in circles during a stream for too long.

Q: You found the secret room with noclip. Why didn't you collect anything in it?
A: If I need to use noclip to find the secret room, first I find it, then I try to figure out how to get into it legitimately before collecting anything from it.

Q: Why do you never play on the Super Slimey difficulty?
A: As stated, these playthroughs are 100%. Flemoids re spawn in that difficulty so I never finish all of them off. So I play on the Extreme Ooze setting instead.

Q: Where can I get Chex Quest WADs?
A: Chexquest.org

Q: What engine do you use?
A: I use gzdoom, but I will use other engines if I absolutely have to. For example: Newmaps and A Miner Catastrophe both require the Legacy engine, which takes a miracle to work on Windows 7.

Q: Why does the game periodically pause for several seconds?
A: I am typing in the chat and when I do this, the gzdoom window is not active, and the game pauses.

Q: Will you play Doom or Wolfenstein 3D custom maps in the future?
A: When I run out of Chex Quest WADs, I will try these as well in the future.
