The miasma expanded rapidly. Emma had just a moment to breathe before lasers ripped through where she was standing, sending her spinning into the ceiling before pivoting and launching forward, dodging with aeromaneuver then twisting to take a hit directly in the chest, but getting an opportunity to cleave a demon straight down the center. The dark threads bubbled and died, burning away as the humans toppled over unconscious. She turned to leap upwards and—

—aeromaneuvered herself straight into the ground as a quintet of lasers ripped through the air at head level, then burned into her back before she could get her legs under her. Emma braced a shield against the attack, then retreated, bouncing off of the walls erratically to throw off the demons' aim.
