Vera sesh catch-up

this writing is going to be awful because i am honestly not that keen at all to even write it.

So you guys went on the three day train ride to hell, not much to really go on about that. I'm going to say you guys did everything that you did in the original session is canon meaning that everyone got attacked by vampires and Vera had an epic fight with Ichabod at the top of the train ride. Anyway after that mess everyone was on the road to Cyprus and made a quick pit stop at Strandenburg for refueling! Wil took Elaine off to meet a few gypsies and bought the fire flower ring, a ring that fired off a beam of fire from the center. I should probably add that Ces and Cado were also included in this mess in addition to the originals.

You guys met a few notable NPCs in here:

Peony, who became a well known chef on the train.

Aiden, the butcher's boy that Vera would later give apprenticeship at the consent of his two parents. After the mess in Cyprus Vera went back to pick up Aiden so that Vera could have him witness the little ceremony he had in mind. I.E Cloning himself.


So anyway after that you guys all actually head off with one more day on the road ahead. Eventually you guys reached the bridge to Cyprus! That's when shit started hitting the fan! For one the officers informed Yamin and Vera that they managed to catch Viktor in the supply room, prompting the two to run after him and give chase on top of the train because he transmuted a hatch through the top. They ended up having an epic fight which caused a pretty big commotion down below, eventually Vera and Yamin's efforts slayed Viktor's ass so they could reclaim his precious files.

Down below Dason, a supposed aristocrat tried grabbing hold of Peony and ended up getting smashed in the back of the head by Wil. Dylan had ordered him be apprehended so that he could go to a questioning later to determine his true motives. However shortly after this, it turned out that Peony was with the terrorists and ended up jumping straight out the window to be tethered one of the many terrorists flying in through the use of wings suits. The terrorists ended up felled like flies because of Vera's fine shooting but eventually one of them had ended up grasping Yamin and steering her off towards Cyprus. Vera would manage to land a few shots into the terrorist which caused him to careen into the canyon but not stop him.

They'd later find out that Peony had used Thaumaturgy to create a large pile of snow to soften the landing for them all.

After that mess Dylan had split everyone up to scour the city for Yamin and attempt finding the rebel group/any leads that would hopefully tell them what the fuck's causing the mysterious marks to manifest on various Thaumaturges through Valmastre. Vera went to the bottom and ended up desecrating sacred grounds with his fucking Thaumaturgy which prompted Jamal the holy warrior of God to throw exploding cross blades at him. He also met Raven Todd, the priest of the place that managed to convince him to stop using his Thaumaturgy around the vicinity and that if he wanted the Church's help he could help weed out the terrorists.

Who Ethan ended up joining shortly after finding out his grandmother was helping them!


Wil interrogated Dason and was lead to believe that he was hunting down Peony because she was a Razinakan outlaw whose family supposedly stole Thaumaturgical information! After that shit they all went to scour the canyons for any information on the rebels but to no avail, failed to do so.

Anyway eventually Wil decided to meet up with Oliver and Elana to talk things over on the regenerative properties of vampires. He'd be given Oliver's blood but he was dead against giving any of Elana's because he wasn't quite sure how dangerous it'd be messing around with hers. (He'd have told Wil about her being a Dhampir; the only vampire born through a human.) Eventually Oliver had to take them out to a bar to discuss some things which lead to him meeting Enrico the Bartender. Enrico was actually an underground blood dealer to the vampires and hosted a few fight clubs. He knew a lot about the rebels and explained how they were actually helping most of the impoverished slums. In fact they were actually were just now finishing on a big irrigation project. Managed to get a bunch of canals around the canyon ready so that the poor could set up a farm for food/a job. Dason had actually ditched Wil and disappeared while he was in the bar.

Anyhoo long story short Vera eventually managed to sniff out the rebel's blood and found a secret entrance at about 9 PM. This was where they and a bunch of Valmastran soldiers ended up heading through the caves so that they could finally rescue Yamin. They got into quite a few firefights through the network of course and actually needed to split up from how complex the place was:

Vera, Cesaire, and Cado

Wil, Elaine(if Wil didn't stop her from going.) Dylan, and Joan

Leo, Elana, Oliver, and Dallas

Each squad was accompanied by four soldiers, but the bulk of the force was mostly split to investigate the other caves that they'd miss.

Anyway after a shit ton more fire fights everyone got into things HIT THE FAN.

Wil's squad managed to find Ethan who was securing the area with a rebel girl (Tara), rebel guy (Zach), Yamin, Peony, Lucas (no not Cavannaugh) a few other rebel soldiers found in an underground complex. Said complex was a massive network of cages and platforms, connected via staircase, in the center of a few cages were large bowls that funneled into a large basin below. Pretty surprised at seeing Ethan (and Yamin for that matter but she was forced to work /w them so.) working with the rebels, Dylan and Joan thankfully didn't roast them on sight but managed a stare down. A few other soldiers joined into this network, along with a few rebels. Eventually the two other squads (with Vera and Cesaire) walked in through a different tunnel and would notice yet another fire fight starting to happen.

 That's when everyone (that could witness it, anyway) would be surprised when Tara actually grasped Peony by the back of her wrist and plunged a dagger straight into her gut, draining her lifeblood straight into the massive bowl. Before Ethan and Lucas could respond Zach actually quickly tore another dagger straight into Lucas, causing the same effect. Peony had actually responded by ripping the dagger from place and quickly blasted Tara with a freezing gust of wind that sent her backwards. Before anyone could hit Tara however, half the rebels and Zach split to guard the girl and huddle her towards the cave network, shooting off any rebel or soldier that intended on doing harm on her. Yamin naturally flipped her spaghetti and ran straight off towards Wil and Co amidst the chaos.

SO AFTER ALL THAT SHIT HAPPENED, a large glow actually occurred in the pit below. Eventually a few of the cages started rattling off straight down, sending a few screaming men and women to their demise. Tara and Zach had been escorted out of the cave at the other end but everyone would watch as she transmutes a wall between her/Zach and her men, causing them all to plunge to their doom shortly afterwards. The rebels and Wil's group managed to go with a momentary ceasefire seeing how fighting in this cave any longer would result in inevitable death for both sides. Thankfully everyone within the party managed to get out of the party alright; Peony fainted from cauterizing her own wound with another sigil but otherwise was carried to her safety by another rebel. Lucas unfortunately wasn't so fortunate and ended up falling off with a few other rebels that were trying to help him walk up to the end of the tunnel.

SO ANYWAY After that fucking mess everyone got into their respective cave in safety.

Cado/Ces and Vera ended up with a few injured rebels and much more Valmastran soldiers, the rebels agreeing to surrender after that cluster fuck and dropping their weapons assuming they were prompted to do so.

Wil's cave ended up with two injured soldiers and two uninjured. A lot of the rebels tried running towards the cave but only a few got through after Wil sealed up the cave entrance out of fear, the remaining ones immediately surrendered, including Ethan. They were cuffed up and Yamin proceeded to nearly faint from the trauma of being near multiple people. It was after this that everyone heard a very pirate-like laugh echoing throughout confines of the cave. Yarr.

Eventually the rebels with you guys all helped lead you down towards the closest exit. The rebels proceed to explain pretty much the same story of why they started shooting each other:

Apparently Tara/Zach and a few other members of the group were all together in some grand plan. What Tara claimed when she stabbed Peony was that she intended to use her blood to 'feed the Blood Well'. The original plan was for them to use Yamin to create a philosopher stone, but in the end their plan backfired and it turned out not everyone in the group was loyal to Ramon (The rebel leader.)

Anyway everyone eventually finds themselves wandering through the place in spooki silence. Eventually Vera and Wil's group end up in a large chamber, where they find themselves in a precarious situation:

A man that everyone from the train may recognize (or at least Wil) due to the trademark red duster, top hat, and over sized glasses standing beside a pale man who's description will be saved for later. (Alucard). 90% of the people in the room immediately paled at the sight of the man, as Alucard is actually infamous throughout Nobella for being the notorious dread pirate that both mankind and vampire kind vowed to hunt down for his atrocities. He's basically the whole reason that people know vampires actually exist! On top of this reputation Alucard was a known Apostle of Kane, which eventually lead to his demise at the hands of the Archmages Taras and Nickolas. The fact he was standing here in one piece all willy nilly likely made you guys pee yourselves.

Anyway Dason smugly thanks the group for contributing to the revival of Alucard, explaining that the rebels and Valmastran soldiers were played and lured into their deaths. He then offered the dread pirate most of the group as a warm up for his return. Naturally Alucard drew his sword and eagerly braced himself for an all out brawl, i'm going to assume at least one of you guys asked how he's not a dead man (if not, at least one of the rebels/soldiers would anyway) and he simply answered by tapping at his chest. He pointed out that his cursed artifact had been satiated once more with enough blood and bodies to restore him to at least half his former glory. Dason had bailed out of the fight to leave Alucard to his fun.

Anyway after that epic brawl with Alucard you guys managed to eventually bombard him with enough power to convince him to go harder than he was already going, which is fucking horrifying because he managed to deal quite a number on all of you: Vera was almost out of flesh Essentia, Joan took a slash to the chest that also dismembered half her ring finger, it wasn't a good time.

(* meaning Vera could repair it. Injuries: Joan missing half her ring finger, Wil with cracked ribs, Ces had his arm slashed so badly its tendon was damaged, disabling that arm for the fight*, Cado surprisingly took a nasty gash at the stomach*)

Anyway while you were all beaten down, a saving grace enters the room! A giant sandy fist flies forth from a nearby cave and smashes Alucard in the ground. You'd all be surprised to find Ramon holding Alucard down with a huge ass amount of sand. Ramon immediately convinces everyone to leave the battleground and states he'll leave Alucard at bay as his parting gift to his former war buddies. (Ramon was a former state Thaumaturge before becoming the rebel leader.)


After that mess you all manage to scramble out of the Cypran caves and to safety, Dylan decides to take the rebels with them all on a train to Eastern command so that they could tell the praetor of the terrifying news.

ANYHOO You all end up in eastern command. Vera picks up the butcher's boy and his parents along the way. Chances are he'd inform you all of his plans on cloning himself by now.

 Upon reaching eastern command you all went to tell Brigadier General Foster (Praetor of Eastern Command) of the dire news. After telling him of everything the Brigadier general agrees to start first by heading to Central Command to notify King Uriel of the events that unfolded, from there, they'd be able to contact Gustave (the Archmage) who would in turn attempt alerting the Archmage council of the problem at hand. The Rebels pretty much all vowed to work against the threat of Kane, which convinced Foster to pardon them for their crimes. Unless you PCs have anything youd like to do with them besides charging them of their crimes they'd stay in Eastern command to relax after the trouble.

Vera decided to invite everyone he wanted to his attempt at creating a sentient clone in Central Command; Everyone in the party was all for attending it with him. With that he'd create a few copies before having harpie messengers head out to invite everyone he cared to have come over.
