(9:57:36 PM) ***Reise settles into the bathtub in her apartment with a happy sigh. She'd been particularly punishing on herself during her workout earlier, so this is her little personal reward for doing so, the hot water taking out all the aches and pains and relieving incipient soreness.
(10:01:34 PM) Ikiryo: ...and then she gets an incoming message...from her boss.
(10:09:40 PM) Ikiryo: Anastasia is calling her
(10:11:47 PM) ***Reise groans and contemplates ignoring the call entirely, but at least the woman is bothering to call instead of show up in person. So she sets it to audio only. "Hello."
(10:14:22 PM) Ikiryo: The voice on the other end is slurring. "You fuckling bitch! This all...is all your fault!"
(10:15:19 PM) ***Reise rolls her eyes. "I love you too, Boss Lady."
(10:16:54 PM) Ikiryo: "You put it...you put in a complaint to Internull affairs, didn't you!"
(10:17:53 PM) Reise: Her eyebrows crease, and she flips the call to accept video.
(10:20:49 PM) Ikiryo: Anastasia is half laying flat on a bar counter, a pile of empty bottles next to her and her eyes blurry. "It was shu, wasn't it?!"
(10:24:57 PM) Reise: "...Look, we may hate each other, but we both get our jobs done. I have literally no reason to have done that, and I've been way too busy to even *think* of complaining. So no, it wasn't me. How 'bout you sober up and explain what happened?"
(10:28:12 PM) Ikiryo: "They reashimed me!" She waves a bottle in Reise's direction.
(10:31:45 PM) Reise: "They who? And to where?"
(10:32:33 PM) Ikiryo: "The shidereals...back to serenitry!"
(10:38:10 PM) Reise: It takes her a moment to figure out what that means. "So...someone put in one complaint, and now you're getting yanked back out of the field? Is that about it?"
(10:39:01 PM) Ikiryo: "I dunno, they havn't told me why! But if anyone put in a compaint it would be you!"
(10:42:41 PM) Reise: "I will swear on a stack of whatever holy text you would deem fit that I did no such thing."
(10:43:54 PM) Ikiryo: "...but I wash shuch a bitch to you and your shuge tits! Who then?"
(10:45:24 PM) Reise: She glances at the bubbles concealing the "huge tits" in question, then shrugs. "I have no idea. Piss anyone else off at the station back home?"
(10:46:14 PM) Ikiryo: "I gosh shoved in this job because people don't like me...it's a shit job for someone low ranking."
(10:47:44 PM) Reise: "So then...shouldn't being brought back to fly a desk in whatever bureaucracy be a good thing...?"
(10:49:23 PM) Ikiryo: "I'm being being reashined back into training." She sulks, slumping on the counter.
(10:52:02 PM) ***Reise blinks. "Training? What in all the hells is that supposed to accomplish?"
(10:54:11 PM) Ikiryo: "I don't know, I'm four hundred fucking yeash old!"
(11:00:45 PM) Reise: "Well...I still have no idea who complained. Who do you deal with who *would* know to do that?"
(11:03:01 PM) Ikiryo: "Shiderals...eshalts I work wish..." She takes another swig of her drink and falls face down on the bench.
(11:11:33 PM) Reise: "...Ana? You still alive over there?" The empty bottles suggest anyone more mortal would have died of alcohol poisoning, or maybe liver cirrhosis, but that's why her boss is a sidereal.
(11:14:46 PM) Ikiryo: A bartender, a tall woman with long dark hair looks in the frame. "She's drinking lemon, lime and bitters. She's just got a really shitty alcohol tollerance. You want me to get her home?" Her own forehead shimmers with the image of a sidereal of secrets.
(11:16:57 PM) Reise: "...If you wouldn't mind, Miss...?"
(11:21:04 PM) Ikiryo: "Gillian works." She smiles.
(11:21:37 PM) Reise: "Miss Gillian, then, please and thank you."
(11:23:24 PM) Ikiryo: "Very good." She reaches over and cuts the connection.
(11:29:41 PM) ***Reise sits in her bath for a while, thinking hard. Then she sends a message to Eloise. [To: Eloise - Hey, uh, I have a question about your departments.]
(11:33:05 PM) Ikiryo: [From: Eloise- Yeah?]
(11:33:20 PM) Ikiryo: Reise also gets another message...requesting she come in to the station. There is someone that wants to meet her.
(11:40:05 PM) Reise: [I know you're Secrets and not Serenity, but I figure most of them work the same...do you guys seriously have, like, official behavioral complaint forms?]
(11:42:25 PM) Ikiryo: [We have about three million sorts. Imagine how bureaucracy gets when most of the people involved in it are immortal and want to keep systems they implimented a thousand years ago going forever.]
(11:43:04 PM) Reise: [...You know, I was *trying* to relax, not give myself a headache. And I suppose all of those three million sorts can get someone yanked with just one filing?]
(11:46:11 PM) Ikiryo: [Not really, no? I mean, we've got basicly no oversight unless we screw up REALLY bad or someone's got a vendetta.]
(11:46:22 PM) Reise: She turns over the virtual note from the station and frowns. Naturally there's no further details other than "someone" who wants to meet her, but given Ana's departure she can't help but surmise it's her new boss--and she has no illusions about said new boss' nature.
(11:46:43 PM) Reise: [...Huh. Okay, thanks, sorry to bother.]
(11:48:33 PM) Ikiryo: [Not a problem. Anything I can do to help?]
(11:49:07 PM) Ikiryo: The officers let her through, directing her to head to where  Anastasia's office used to be. Oddly enough, none of them seem to comment on them having a new commanding officer.
(11:49:09 PM) Reise: [Not unless you feel like digging into Serenity's secrets.] She drags herself out of the tub and towels herself dry, then gets herself dressed and heads out. Another advantage to her apartment's location: centrality to the area. It's a fifteen minute walk to the nearest Galaxy Police branch station.
(11:49:41 PM) Ikiryo: [Urg, what did they do now and on a scale 1-10 how 'Barbie's magical transmutation adventure' is it?]
(11:50:48 PM) Reise: [My boss at GalPol got lifted because of one behavior complaint. She thought it was me 'cause we hate each other. Needless to say, it wasn't me, but she's being sent back to 'training.']
(11:51:01 PM) Reise: [So probably a 1 on your scale, really.]
(11:51:37 PM) Reise: The officers' lack of reaction just further solidifies in her mind the nature of her new CO.
(11:51:52 PM) Ikiryo: [I dunno, this IS Serenity. I wouldn't be suprised if they have mantadory slumber party training]
(11:52:39 PM) Ikiryo: It's not long before she's outside the captain's office. The name on it says 'Captain Midian Knight'
(11:52:58 PM) Reise: "Pretentious enough," she murmurs, before pressing the door chime.
(11:55:38 PM) Ikiryo: It opens, revealing a tall and very handsome man. He has short dark hair, pale skin and odd, purple eyes. He's dressed in a professional suit. "Ah, please come in." He smiles and steps aside to let her past.
(11:56:35 PM) Reise: She raises one eyebrow, but does as asked. He is, after all, the CO.
(11:59:34 PM) Ikiryo: He closes the door behind her before taking a seat at his desk. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Officer Reise."

(12:06:36 AM) Ikiryo: "Please, there is no need to hold to formalities. I know your situation and I suspect you have ideas about mine."
(12:07:29 AM) Reise: "I try not to make a habit of prying into my COs' personal lives, sir."
(12:10:20 AM) Ikiryo: He raises an eyebrow...and a purple symbol appears on his forehead. It doesn't look like Secrets or Serenity.
(12:13:01 AM) Reise: "Ah, *those* ideas. Yes, I kind of assumed."
(12:13:43 AM) Ikiryo: "I assume you have questions?"
(12:14:49 AM) Reise: "A lot." She nods. "Like why you kicked out Captain Anamyklos."
(12:16:16 AM) Ikiryo: "That was a decision from my superiors. They believed that her time in command had ended, with the recent revelations making this situation clearly well above her expertise." He smiles.
(12:16:45 AM) Reise: "So you kicked her back into *training?* I knew you guys were sadistic but that's just *cruel.*"
(12:19:40 AM) Ikiryo: "That was not my decision. Her reassignment location was her department's decision." He shakes his head.
(12:22:00 AM) Reise: "Whatever. I hope you're better at not passing the buck than this in the future. So her department kicked her out and decided they were done with the affair, and turned it over to whichever one you belong to, so then you...what, rewrote reality so everyone here thinks you've always been captain since yesterday?"
(12:24:22 AM) Ikiryo: He shakes his head again. "Not reality, just memories and files. People just started forgetting the previous captain when her identity was removed from use, it was easy enough to step into it's place." He smiles. "I'm rather hoping we can have a good working relationship...as these recent revelations have made this a top priority for the departments."
(12:26:06 AM) ***Reise snorts effusively. "Find out you misplaced a modron and suddenly it's everybody's problem, huh?"
(12:27:05 AM) Ikiryo: He nods. "My department conciders modrons very serious...as well as plots to use them. Some things should not be brought back."
(12:27:18 AM) Reise: "Yeah, like mullets."
(12:28:37 AM) Ikiryo: "Indeed. As a result, a proper agent was assigned to this mission...and it seems I am it. I am here to provide you with aid you require."
(12:32:51 AM) Reise: "Uh huh. I don't suppose part of your mission packet involved a different cover story for me."
(12:34:25 AM) Ikiryo: "I'm afraid not, unless you have another way to become close to Horizon without your identity being revealed?"
(12:40:56 AM) Reise: "Course not." She brushes hair back over an ear. "That'd be too easy."
(12:41:29 AM) Ikiryo: "Is there anything else I can do to help?"
(12:43:10 AM) Reise: "Not yet, but I'll be sure to accidentally forget to bring it up--I mean, I'm sure if I think of something in the future I'll bring it right to you."
(12:44:11 AM) Ikiryo: He nods. "Very well. I hope, now that you have competent support, you can bring this to a close effectively. Dismissed.'
(12:44:59 AM) ***Reise salutes and walks out of the office, then the station. [To: Eloise - No offense to you personally, you're awesome, but...I fucking hate sidereals so much.]
(12:45:39 AM) Ikiryo: [From: Eloise - Aww, love you too. What's the cause of this one?]
(12:46:11 AM) Reise: [The new boss. He's from another one of your departments and he's practically radioactively smarmy.]
(12:47:12 AM) Ikiryo: [Oh, fun. Yeah, office politics are the most bullshit. Why do you think I prefer doing archeology?]
(12:49:21 AM) Reise: [Yeah. Which department is this symbol, btw?] She adds her best approximation of the caste mark from his forehead.
(12:51:37 AM) Ikiryo: [Oh joy. That's Endings. They are in charge of...well, the end of all things. They tend to handle undead stuff, apoc situations and team up with serenity to have celebrities have screaming breakups.]
(12:53:57 AM) Reise: [Meet my new captain, then. This isn't exactly filling me with any more encouragement than seeing him in person did.]
(12:56:03 AM) Ikiryo: [I mean, they are good people if you need something wiped off the map. They tend to be blunter than War, though]

(1:00:07 AM) Reise: [I noticed. He tried to hide it, so I guess points for him, but...yeah. Anyway I have another call coming in so I'll let you get back to your life. Thanks for putting up with my venting.]

(1:04:01 AM) Ikiryo: Her agent's message reads 'Hey Reise, call me when you can! I've got a great opportunity for you~'
(1:13:09 AM) Reise: [You just said the magic words.] She sighs and puts in a call to her manager. He was always such a handful, but if it weren't for him she'd probably never have gotten close enough to find out about Zabotnik...
(1:15:08 AM) Ikiryo: He answers almost instantly, a Tau with his hair full of enough hair gel to deflect bullets and in a bright green suit. "Reisey, Darling!"
(1:17:57 AM) Reise: "Ob'nau!" she responds, smiling widely. "How's my favorite agent doing today?"
(1:18:52 AM) Ikiryo: "I'm doing great Reisey, how's my favorite star?"
(1:22:39 AM) Reise: "Oh, y'know, just having a walk around this part of the city, about to head home!"
(1:23:26 AM) Ikiryo: "That's great...anyway, I've got a great opportunity for you girl!"
(1:28:01 AM) Reise: "That's what your message said, yeah! I can't wait to hear!"
(1:29:24 AM) Ikiryo: "Have you ever concidered getting into fim? I've got a few coming up and I'm looking for stars...and I just thought 'Hey, Reise is always a top girl and she's got a few friends who'd be perfect for this!'"
(1:35:09 AM) Reise: "Film?" She blinks. "Well...sure. I mean, what girl *hasn't* dreamed of being a trid star some day?"
(1:40:17 AM) Ikiryo: "Great, we've got one that's a really good match for you, I think. I've not yet managed to talk the other lead into it...but you know me girl, I don't ever give up~" He grins. "It's called A Night In Eden. We've also got one that would be so good for that cute girl you've been sighted with, Who Fucked Rosie Rabbit!"

(1:45:15 AM) Reise: That's a...porno title, it's gotta be, for Uytana, Reise thinks to herself. And since Ob'nau bundled the names and opportunities together, it stood to reason that this "A Night in Eden" was the same thing. On the other hand, it's not like her airheaded persona would get that. What to do, what to do...for now, deflect!
(1:45:15 AM) Reise: "Oh, well, I'm supposed to have lunch with her in a few days. She's been doing a lot of work with that singer, Sh--Shirley? No, that wasn't it--oh, yeah. Sheryl. Anyway I'll ask my friend later, but she miiiiiiight say no, I dunno if she'll like a movie with that kind of title."

(1:51:57 AM) Reise: "No, you sure don't," she agrees fervently. "Otherwise I wouldn't be where I am today~!"
(1:53:09 AM) Ikiryo: "Exactly, have I steered you wrong girlfriend?~"
(1:54:25 AM) Reise: "No, not yet~"
(1:55:19 AM) Ikiryo: "Exactly, I'd be SUPER grateful if you could talk to your friends about this opportunity?~"
(1:55:47 AM) Reise: "Friends? Well, which ones? 'Cause before you just meant the one for the bunny movie..."
